    This was a HUGE help for me. I had the E62:10 after a drop onto hardwood floor. I thought the floating lens mechanism was broken and it was either spend several hundred dollars to repair or just scrap it and buy a new camcorder. After I took off the lens cover I could see the metal bracket was bent - which was pushing against the floating lens preventing it from moving freely. I bent it back in shape, epoxy'd a couple cracks along the way, and it works as good as new! Thank you - this is very much appreciated!

      I can't begin to tell you how happy this makes me. I really hope this video helps a lot of people. I suspect this is a more common problem than I realize. I too thought the floating lens assembly was the issue. Turns out that error only means that it can't move for "some" reason. Makes the idea of repair way more appealing. Again, I am so happy to hear this was helpful. Enjoy the camera and thanks for letting me know it was useful.

    This was the only help I found in the whole internet! Very good video. I found out that my E62.10 lens error was caused by a screw which was jammed in the gimbal. No idea where the screw came from. I removed it and everything is ok now. Saved a lot of money. Thanks.

    Hey, just fixed my sony ax53 with stuck stabilizer. E:62:10 was on screen, by the force i can move lens from stuck position, but by few moment of flowing lens it stucks again. So inspired by your video i did remove about all plastics and found loosen screw between screen top and microphone bottom of 2 yellow screen screws. Tightened it and works again. Thank You for sharing the video. World still a nice place just because of people like You.

    Nice work, the tripod Mount is a problem with AX33, if the 1/4-20 bolt on the tripod is too long it bottoms out in the camera before becoming tight and jacks (bends) and cracks the camera bottom plate. Solution is to adjust the 1/4-20 tripod bolt, use a shorter bolt, or place a fender washer or shim between tripod plate and the camera.

    8/1/24. Second viewing. Still using my AX-33. Gave you a 👍at the first viewing. Seems like Sony is not as interested in camcorders nowadays. They've been pushing blogging capable pocket sized cameras with video capability. Even called it quits on the AX-700. The new A6700 has tons of new bells and whistles, but getting a decent PZ lens costs as much as the body. I'll continue to stick w/ my 33 if only because BOSS is better than all that in camera stabilization that crops the image.

    You can download the disassembly/repair manual for this camera. I find it makes life much easier if you tape the screws to where they're shown in the disassembly manual. There are supposed to only be 3 types of screw in this camera, but they substitute them sometimes. Plus some are machined to stop them coming loose. You may need to replace those each time you take it apart, but you might get lucky

    I have error 61:30. I ordered a replacement flexible PCB, and I downloaded the disassembly manual. I'm just watching this in case there's anything in here that clears up any ambigity might find in the manual. Sometimes the drawings can be misleading

    • @ashscott6068
      @ashscott6068 4 місяці тому

      @@riri334S Yeah, just google "sony LF-2117 flexible connector" It's a flexible PCB that connects the floating lens assembly to the rest of the camera. And since the lens assembly is floating because of the image stabilisation, the cable wears out and breaks cus it's always moving around. It's worth ordering two, because they only cost like 20 euros. I've seen the same thing on EBAY for 5 but a chinese seller. You'll also need to download the manual, cus this part is right in the middle of the camera. Also, if you print out the manual pages you'll need, you can tape the screws to it, so you always put them back in the right place.
      It's also very important that when you remove flexible ribbon connectors - and there are a few in this camera, you lift up the little tab on the socket and don't just force them out. Other than that, it's not super complicated. The manual is very good. You can skip the part about disassembling things like the LCD screen and the eyepiece and stuff. You don't need to do that. You just need to remove them. The manual shows you where the part goes. There's no reason you can't get it done in an hour or two.

      hard to say without looking at it, but I would see if it has a small backup battery. like a watch battery. I think they do. If that wears out it can cause weird things. I'd try that first. Also go into the menu and do a factory reset. sometimes we change settings without realizing/remembering and a reset to factory will cure what ails it. Hope this helps!

      I can't say I have worked on an AX53 but if its similar to the AX33, it is more of a job than you might expect but it all depends on how far you need to go. I'd suggest searching for the Service manual. It is probably for sale(roughly $20 average) and will make it way easier to accomplish.

    Any news Frank on when the new W6000 repair video is coming along? Finaly got the whole top off after realising there was.. believe it or not.. a screwed in screw remaining underneath a loose but stuck screw on the bottomside of the projector. The only one left that I couldn't get out and thought harmless since it shouldn't have been able to grip anything. Took one side panel off for easier reach and view but I'm right now finicking about with the metal top sheet and the motherboard underneath. I need to get into the dark champer part because I'm quite sure, after being inspired by one of your other BenQ videos, that my lamp fan is malfunctioning. Either it's dusted up or not operating as required in some other way. After loosely dusting out the front and sides and still seeing the temp indicator going red almost immediately after powering it on. I get the BenQ logo then the no signal. About 25 sec after powering it on it shuts down to cool. So anyway. Any good news in that upcoming video or any other great tips you absolute hero of the community?

    • @FixitFrank

      It's hard to say exactly. This is not my full time job so its when I have time sort of thing. I ended up needing a fan for this one too, so most likely another week or so. I may upload it in 2 parts. Part 1 diagnosis, then part 2 repair/re-assembly. To get to that fan you do have to take everything out. The mainbaord, the power supply underneath etc.

    Thank you for your wornderful message. I have learned a lot from your repair. Now I have a problem and perhaps you can give me your insight: I took my Sony FDR-AXP35 Camcorder to be serviced for Error Code e61:30. The screen read that and I showed it to the Sony technician. Within a week they emailed me confirming that exact code error and I gave them the go ahead with the repairs for THB 1132 (US$34). I called them yesterday after waiting two weeks on a job that they said would take less than a week. Now they are saying they found a new error code e61:10 and that the cost is THB 9585 (US$288). There is no way the camera computer would have read e61:30 and now they say is reading e61:10. Can you tell me if this is a clear case of malpractice? I will contact the Consumer Protection Board in Bangkok, but I need some technical support before I do that.

    • @FixitFrank
      @FixitFrank  2 роки тому

      With out seeing it, I can't really say anything. The two errors could be related. The one error is a lens jam and the other is for a lens position sensor. My advice would be to get another tech to look at it. I doubt its flat out fruad. It's not worth it for the repair. At least in my opinion.

      Hi Anton. As luck would have it, I literally received a W6000 today to look at. First thing(and the hardest to figure out) is to remove the focus/zoom rings. Once those are off, it will get easier. First thing is stand with the lens facing you. Then rotate the focus ring fully clockwise until it stops. Then turn it just a tiny bit more. It will unlock from the lens assembly. Then it pulls right out. Repeat the same with the zoom ring. Once those are off, you need to remove the 2 screws on the bottom that hold the plastic bit that is behind the focus/zoom ring. Once those are out, the rest will be pretty obvious. I'll have a video of the one here at some point but I can't be sure exactly when. I have a few W6000 vids up from many years ago but I don't think I show disassembly in them. They are old and sort of before I took it seriously.

      ua-cam.com/video/baOX9z3uilM/v-deo.html I put up a short showing. The cover came off this one very easily because it had already been off before. The small shroud/cover is around the button panel. It stays put. It takes a little pulling towards you. The clips that hold it are about 5-10mm long. I find that if I pull out on the bottom(6 oclock position on the lens opening) and then gently pull upwards and towards me, the cover pops off. See if the video helps at all.
