Stalactite Plant, Elephant’s Ears Kalanchoe, Velvet Leaf Plant, Felt Bush
‘Fang’ is a tall succulent with velvety silver leaves. The margins and underside of each leaf are covered in small tubercles, or “fangs.” The edges of each leaf are bronze. If grown outdoors, ‘Fang’ has red-orange blossoms in the Spring. However, if growing inside, it’s rare to see flowers.

So cute!
I love this Kalanchoe.
Love the fuzzy succs! It doesn’t look like one that propagates from leaves. That’s neat!
I like this unique looking plant! It is definitely different!
One of my favorites. Love the ease of propagating
Such prolific propagators! Love these guys!
Love kalanchoe's!
Never seen one, but I love all Kalanchoe's
Oh my goodness! I love fuzzy Kalanchoes😍. Watching the fangs form is so cool!
I have a bunch of Kalanchoes and love all their neat little features!
got one of these at about 2 inches tall and now it's over 2 feet tall. love this plant! so easy.
I already have panda kalanchoe and pink butterfly..I dont have that kind of kalanchoe yet..you made me wanna get one..
I love fuzzy plants! Thanks for the wish list add!!😁
I haven’t tried any kalancholes, but will give it a try next spring. Starting to think about preparing my succulents for winter in TN, even though it’s still in the 80’s and 90’s.
I really like this. I wish it would bloom indoors.
Your videos are interesting and love seeing all the different plants.
This one sounds cool!
I love kalanchoes! I have the chocolate soldier, the cinnamon, the milliotti and two of the calandiva!
I don't think I've ever seen one of these. Thank you for showing it off!
This one has a unique look and I found it intriguing!!
Congratulations!!! You've won the succulent tool kit giveaway for this video! Please email me (info@succulentsandsunshine.com) with your address so we can get it shipped out to you. Thanks so much for watching and participating!
This may be my first outdoor succulent! Thanks for the info!!!
The fuzzy ones are the cutest! I didn't know you could propagate it from leaves. I am learning so much from this series. 💚
Thanks for the video!
I love the soft silvery leaves. So pretty.
All Kalanchoe are definitely some of my favorite succulents! I love their abilities to propagate and I have so many different ones!
I learned a bunch! Thanks
Kalanchoe’s are my favorite. Love them!
I've had a Kalanchoe "Fang" for 2-3 years now that was mismarked. So happy to know the real name. It's been in the shade most of the time, so need to give it some sun...it's growing quite tall! Thanks for the info.
This Kalanchoe is AMAZING!! It looks like it has dragon skin. I felt immediately in love with it. 😍
Super cute! I'll keep an eye out for this one.
Cute and fuzzy lol
Always informative....never heard of this one before! Thanks
I don't have this one either, but will be going to the Succulent Extravaganza tomorrow and will be looking for some of the plants you've been teaching us about.
I fell in love with this variety when I saw a huge specimen in a pot at the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm in FL. It’s is so structural and distinctive! Not to mention...fluffy!!
I've never seen this one before....very pretty!
Yet another gr8 video of a very interesting succulent ...I have several that came to me in arrangements ... which reminds of two that are in an arrangement now and sounds like I need to move them out and give them some more light ... thanks again !!!
I love this one for a center or thriller of and arrangement
I have a fang that is about a foot tall. I have also been able to propagate from the leaves, really easily.
I purchased a small Fang plant in 2017. Seven years later, it is now almost 4 feet tall, and would be taller, but the stalk has a big curve in it. I have several propagations that happened organically when leaves dropped off the main plant. I left them in the pot, and roots developed and the little "babies" are adorable!
That's amazing!!!
It's very cute! I must look out for one here in SA. Kalanchoe is a HUGE family!
I have 'Panda' and I believe I would like this one too.
My daughter just gave me a propagated leaf. I’m looking forward to seeing this plant grow.
My teen loves these. So I am sure we will have one at some point. Good to know it should stay outside.
Love these videos! So informative. I have not had any experience with this one......
I so appreciate the information on toxicity to pets. My four legger likes to nibble on green plants so I know if I am going to grow this, I will need to put it in a place she can't access it.
Thank you
Adorable Fang succulent! I will add this to my collection. Thank you for the terrific care information!
Love your videos and so helpful all the information about how to take care each individual one. Would you please show up close more the plants. Thank you!! Love your t-shirts
Thank you so much!
I got the shirt on Etsy. It is soooo soft and comfy! Here is an affiliate link:

They have other colors and styles too!
Also, I was trying to keep these simple to produce so we could do a lot this month. However, not including close ups was definitely an oversight.
And one we'll remedy in our next round of videos.
In the meantime, you can see a close up of the plants here:

I do love this plant. Mine have achieved the two-foot height but not the width. At some point, most of their leaves dropped below the top 3-4 inches (both of which are full of leaves) so they are a bit top heavy. When I repot it, I'm strongly considering cutting the tops off and propagating them as new plants. Then I will have four large and a number of small ones from the dropped leaves!
I am a new viewer to your channel and love your videos. A simple suggestion I would make is to have some close-up shots of the plants, either video or still shots. This one would have been a great opportunity to show off the fangs and fuzzy leaves you were describing. Love, love, love your videos, especially the series like this where you spotlight individual plants with their characteristics and growing properties. Looking forward to more!
Thanks for the feedback :) So glad you're enjoying the channel!
I love the diversity of growth habit and color there is among Kalanchoe species: mother-of-thousands, flapjacks, desert surprise, harpoon leaf, Christmas kalanchoe, lavender scallops, and so many more. The flowers are charming and beautiful. 'Fang' will not be in my collection, though, because we have pets. And thank you for that information too, so important for pet "owners!"
Putting on wish list!! Thanks for the info.!
I just ordered my own fang from Steve's Leaves earlier today! Excited to add it to my ever-growing Kalanchoe collection :)
I ordered mine from Steves Leaves about a month ago too. Very great price. Great size plant for the price that shipped perfectly and quickly. The kalanchoes leaves can actually be propagated if broke in half or 3rds. Ive personally done it and its so surprising. The cute fuzzy babies that grow are the cutest things ive ever seen.
@@stephanieadams4388 Good to know! I'm obsessed with plants that are easily propagated :) Mine arrived quickly and the plant is so much bigger than I had expected! I love Steve's Leaves!!
I love all of your videos Cassidy. I just forget to thumbs up sometimes.
We're glad you like the videos!
Thank you for including indoor growing tips for this plant. The “fangs” look really neat!!
I really enjoy to watch your videos daily. Some time can you take a close up look at each succulent? Thank you
Thank you for the feedback! I was trying to keep these simple to produce so we could do a lot this month. However, not including close ups was definitely an oversight.

I wasn't able to make the changes for this set, but we are planning to re-release them in October with close ups.
In the meantime, you can see a close up of the plants here:

Love and enjoy your videos. Keep doing it! Thank you. I am your big follower!
I have the panda plant and it is really easy to care. I'll add the fang on my wishlist.
What a neat plant! I have not seen this one where I live. I’ll have to look for it. Thanks for all the helpful hints?
You're welcome! And just so you know, we have links to purchase the plants in the video description if you're up for buying online. We have some great sellers we work with!
Interesting fangs on the underside. Never seen it locally yet but I think I'd rather get Bear's paws as I love chubby fuzzy leaves but by all accounts, very easy for the leaves to come off.
I don’t have one of these, but I want one!
This is one of my favorites
I've got some kalanchoes-lovely, look so delicate
These are actually quite sturdy feeling. They seem fuzzy and soft, but they are quite substantial.
Love the uniqueness of this one...I think the fangs are interesting, and the coloring is cool too! Anxious to give this one a try indoors as well..just wish I could get it to bloom that way.
Kalanchoes are crazy when it comes to reproducing. I don't have this guy but I try not to have a lot of Kalanchoes in general cause they'll take over! Lol
Interesting as usual.
Thanks!
I have KALANCHOE Panda Plant and Chocolate Shoulder but not the Fang! Sounds wonderful and I must look for it. Thanks for the tips.
We have a video on Panda Plant coming up next week 😁
Kalanchoe Fang, this is one I am not familiar with. I will have to check it out. Being we are headed towards winter I would have to keep it inside but away from my cats. Thanks for the introduction and the video.
I want all the kalanchoes!! Was looking at mountain crest last night. Their def very interesting plants to me
I am growing many of these Fang plants and love them! As they grow, they resemble a tree with velvet paddles for the branches, the larger paddles at the bottom, the smaller ones at the top, truly like a velvet Christmas tree. I have some outside, and they look different from the indoor ones. Outside the color is more yellow, the velvet less dense and furry--more like velveteen; whereas, the indoor ones are more like velvet. I have (unwanted) animals that knock off the leaves on the outdoor ones, so they have stems with a bush of leaves at the top. The leaves should not be side knocked, or they will fall off. Mine seem to like more water than you describe. I need to do a watering experiment and see what happens, when they are left to completely dry out.
This looks really different, which I love! Will be looking for the sale of it! Thanks!
I love Kalanchoe, and “fang” is on my wishlist too. It’s so interesting! I love your videos and info, thank you 💚
Currently my Beharensis is about 18y.o. and 4 meters (13') tall and base diameter is around 15cm (6").
It has been growing in a large pot outside without any extra care and gone through heatwaves 45C (113F) without difficulties here in Adelaide, SAust.
Thanks for your clip, enjoyed it :)
Wow that is awesome! So glad you enjoyed the clip🙂
Fuzzy teef ! Awesome gotta have !
Fungs/tuberculous is an extra storage tank . Help for owners to hold watering. Posible the more drought-resistant kalanchoe. The reverse season is a key point. Some will look to realize your location.
New one on my wishlist
I have one that’s a foot tall and I absolutely love it!!!
“Fang” looks positively prehistoric! I love succulents that bloom so I’m going add one to my (ever growing) collection! 😁🌵
I don’t have this one but have some in the same family. They look so beautiful with the fuzzy exterior.
I’ve never seen this one before great information. I always like to here when a succulent can take full sun.
Thank you for sharing!
Love the videos! Such wanted to suggest, if possible, please include some close up shots or pictures of the plants in the video. Thanks.
This is a new one for me!
I’ve been eyeing this type of succulent for a bit now. Sounds like this is my sign take the plunge
Fang surprised me big time when it bloomed! I wish I could post a picture...I grew it outside and now its 5ft tall!
How fun!
I need to add this to my wishlist!
My Kalanchoe beharensis 'Fang' didn't make it, and I don't recall what happened. The fuzzy texture is the best. I was able to propagate my Kalanchoe tomentosa and was as surprised as you that it's possible. It never hurts to try and see what happens.
This 1 does well indoors directly under our grow light. If its off to the side you will have to spin it as it will "reach" for the light.
I haven’t gotten into most of the fuzzies, with the last exception of bears paws. I do, however, have one of these growing from a prop. Good info, thanks Cassidy!
Kalannchoes are brand new to me. I'm growing my first one from a broken piece found on the floor of Lowes garden center! I'm surprised it was so easy to root. I'll have to keep my eyes out for a 'Fang'.
"Fang" is one that I do not know! Thanks for introducing all of us to it!
I just got a cutting of this and had no idea what it was. Thanks!!
I’ve never seen one of these before, but now I must find!
Love them
How have I never seen this one before..??
So interesting! I think I have something similar but no fangs
Thank you for the information. This one will probably not do well in the desert heat.
I saw one of these at the store the other day and am honestly kicking myself for not getting it! They are so cute!!
They seem to be one of the easier ones for me to grow indoors. I don’t mind so much if they stretch a bit as it can give me some height in an arrangement. I came across one the other day, I think it was chocolate soldier, I may have to go back and get it. Will keep my eye out for fang.
I have another plant in the same family that is really big and spreads. It's very pretty.
I like the size of this one. I do have grow lights and will try them.
