Thanks ... have several Topsy Turvy ... have some in arrangements ... esp as a ‘filler’ ... always shows its gratitude with a surprising bloom ... thanks again.
My first thought after you said "easy to propagate": "I need it."
I don't have an adult topsy turvy, but I do have several leaves in my prop tray that are from this succulent. I love the waviness of the topsy turvy and its beautiful farina! Can't wait until mine grows up! Thanks, Cassidy!
I have one of these. It's a baby still and so cute. My mom has a bigger one too.
Unique little guy!
While the variation I crave most is color variation, the distinctive leaf shape of Topsy Turvy is certainly a favorite of mine. The fact that one of my leaf propagations of this variety created a crested specimen also makes me give this a real thumbs up, even though I believe the cresting is a stroke of good fortune that can't be counted on in any case. Mine have produced babies fairly consistently. I have it planted in a built-in planter adjoining the pool in my screened Florida lanai. It also has produced flower spikes frequently. (The sun on my lanai is reduced in intensity by the screening, which I believe is why my various Echeverias have thrived there, despite our hot, humid climate.
I have several of these and one has a couple of clusters of tiny leaf groups. I really love this plant as the curly leaves are very cute.
Very pretty colors!
Ohhh so that's why it's called a topsy turvy! How fascinating
Some much to learn about Topsy Turvey! Thanks for all the tips.
Another one for the wish list.
I only had one, it got overwatered. I didn’t think I was overwatering but I could not bring it back. Pains me to have to get rid of plants. Great video thanks
Great video, thanks!
Hmm, you might have changed my mind about these. I've only seen flat, unhealthy ones in 'real life' so to say and I don't like them. However, yours that are sticking up all high and happy are so cute! Maybe I'll get one and give it a try. :)
Tips on watering were useful. I would like more information about Jade plant since it seems similar.
I'm sorry but I'm on my iMac large screen and still can't see the plants too well when you put it closer to the camera. good to know it gives offsets and summer dormant. Im in Zone 10
One of my favorites for sure as the shape is so beautiful - kind of opposite to Cubic frost in the way the leaves curl. Luckily it has retained all its leaves unlike the Cubic Frost which dropped so many that the rosette is lopsided.
What a fun plant! It is definitely different. I Would like to have one.
Mine seems happy indoors under grow lights 😊
Mine is so leggy.. is it supposed to grow tall opposed to grow outward?
Not sure what I think about this one. I will wait for summer and then try it.
I bought one of these the other day and she was literally on her last breath, the poor thing was so thirsty she had thin leaves and was all shriveled up. She does have an offset and is in flower but I literally couldn’t identify her until like 3 days after I watered and transplanted her . I thought I found a new wired unidentified succulent , turned out she was just unidentifiable, lol .
Maam my topsy turvy is shriveled tho it has pups forming beneath? Our weather in the Philippines 🇵🇭 is Rain and Sunny only.
You can remove the pups and replant them. Learn more in this post:

My daughter gave me this when we were going through a hard time, she said our relationship was topsy turvy. She also gave me a propeller plant before she went away to college. I think my needs more light
This is one of the cutest, most wholesome comments ever.
I currently do not have this one!!
Topsy Turvy huh? Seems like that's how I am getting with all these wonderful videos. Decisions - decisions. 😎😎
Unfortunately, my leaves are falling off and I'm forced to propagate. Now my plant is scrawny. I backed off on watering and giving it a lot of light. We'll see what happens.
I have a "topped" Topsy Turvy ready to repot, but unfortunately I didn't save the stem for more "babies". I'll be more diligent next time.
I live in Australia and I purchased Topsy Turvy Yesterday . I love your videos
I bought an unhealthy one awhile ago and it died. Luckily I have a few leaves propagating!
mine always flatten out. (so so growlight) Fun to propagate.
Thank you for the videos.you do a great job of explaining the information.
I don't currently have a Tops turvy plant but I will look into getting one soon.
I don’t have this one yet but I do have a hybrid of this called Cubic Frost.
I got a massive one for £1.50 because it looked damaged
I have a big one of these and it’s about 8-10 inches in diameter! Such a pretty blue color
Not as attractive as some of the other Echeverias. I does look nice in a grouping.
Now I know what I have 😂 I’m growing it inside, on my window and looks better then when I got it
I feel like I see a lot of wilted versions of these in grocery stores!
I always confused Cubic Frost with Topsy Turvy.
Haven't seen this one. But it's super neat looking.
Hi, can I ask for your help? I have a succulent that I can't find anywhere. It looks like an echeveria, but its leafs are curved down, not up like I usually see echeverias. The leafs are also thinner, in the pictures the echeveria's leafs look more sturdy and thick. What do you think it could be? Here are some photos I took of mine imgur.com/a/bhGY0e6
Thank you
It's actually not getting enough light, which is why the leaves are curving downward. Its hard to tell exactly what it is due the the lack of light, but it may be an Echeveria elegans:

Great video, thanks for the info, much appreciated! It would be great if you could find a way to provide a close-up on your videos when showing details. No biggy, bug that would be very helpful. Cheers
Thank you for the feedback! These videos were done fairly quickly and we tried to keep them simple. However, we are going to re-release them with close ups so you can see more details.
In the meantime, you can see a close up of the plants here:

My GAWD, i love your planters. Such great taste... I have to use plastic or reuse tins unfortunately. But I focus on the beauty of the plant.
Love your channel and aesthetics. A new subscriber!
Thank you!! :)
Luckier than I knew! My 'Topsy Turvy' has been thriving under grow lights for over a year, and I love it!
I have seen them in stores, but never purchased one.
I love topsy turvy, the name and the plant!
I have three runyonii surrounding a pair of taller growing, pink edged Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi 'Variegata' in a bowl pot. I like the contrast in color, leaf shape, and all around texture.
Oh good video I thought something was wrong with it
Really like this one. I will be looking for it.
I was not successful with mine,😥
My topsy turvy is pretty stretched out but the new growth is starting to look more compact since I started using a grow light. I was wondering if I could cut the stem and plwce the new, compact growth in soil like a cutting. Any recommendations?
Yes I would remove the offset (give it 1-2 days to callous) and then plant it :)
Tops turvy is one of my favorites. It also helps I can get it locally. I love the unusual Echeveria! Grow inside under grow light in winter!
So my Topsy turvy isn’t elongating but the main stem is very long and my buds are getting smaller, is it okay if I cut the head off and let it dry so I can repot it?
Absolutely! Good luck!
I’m trying to propagate leaves from this right now. No growth yet...
I found it takes quite a while to get the leaves to shoot. Hang in there it will happen :)
Echeveria does not pair well with myself. They are the ones I find the most often I just can’t seem to get all its needs right.
Christin Wise easiest way to care for them is to just leave it alone , we tend to love our succulents to death and all they just want to be left alone . I water mine no more than twice a month .
I have a hybrid of this its called echeveria cloud and i love it
Creates little pups like crazy!!!! They're taking over I have more of these than any other succulent!!!
I wonder if mine is getting to hot. I live in Oklahoma and it’s 100 degrees here
That definitely could be! While they can withstand some heat and like a lot of light, if they get too much sun/heat combined it can burn them or even cause damage that looks like rot.
Mine is struggling but alive
Very interesting little plant!
Thank you!!! So helpful
I thought it was winter dormant.
Thank you for pointing it out! I had my notes wrong when I was recording. You are correct that it is winter dormant.
The love of succulents is a growing concern!
Love this succulent.
I don't have one but it's not one of my favorites...I prefer the compact echeverias. The variety of succulents is amazing...there's something for everybody! And Cassidy, how did you learn all the names of these plants?!
Lots of time an research 😆
@@Succulentsandsunshine Very impressive, my dear!! :-)
I have this one, easy to keep.
i think i need this plant!
Not sure if mine if a hybrid or not of this but it oddly grew quite tall in height, at least a foot!
It could be stretching, searching for more light. Take a look at this post and see if it fits the description for yours:
succulentsandsunshine.com/yt-stretched
I love unique & interesting plants. Thanks for sharing. You give great info as always. 💚
I definitely don’t have Topsy-Turvy. I’ll have to look for it. I think the different texture would be a nice addition to a mixed arrangement.
I accidentally hit mine today and knocked off about 6 leaves from the right side. I'm hoping it will be okay
Pudge 54 she will be , throw those leaves in soil and in 2 months you’ll have 6 new plants , Echeveria are easy to propagate from leaves !!! You can pot them and give them for Christmas or just have 6 new lovely babies .
Update, 4 of 6 leaves have done something, (roots, or baby is forming)
I do have one of these! Glad to know the name of it now!
Wish list plant.
How hard are these? We get scalding sunlight
These do not do very well and extreme heat or extreme sun. Ideally no hotter than 90F and avoid direct sun in the afternoon.
I’ve been having issues with my topsy turvy recently so this video was definitely needed. Thanks!
I just recieved my plant mail yesterday! And you guessed it!!! Topsy turvy was one of the plants! I'm so excited, even though it is quite small,I'm looking forward to having baby offsets! Thanks for the video!!
I got my first topsy turvy because I feel in love with the shape about a month ago. I absolutely love her and fun shape. I have her outside on my porch and she loves the sun. I live in AL!!
I'm surprised how many succulents are considered winter growers. And the color of topsy turvy looks really great next to the purple and the brighter green in that pinkish pot next to you! Love it!
I lost my Topsy Turvy to root rot. Will have to remember that it’s summer dormant if ever I decide to get one again.
Thanks for the great advice! I am currently having a problem with my topsy turvy, it loses leaves after watering. 😔
Do you water it from the top or let it sit in water for a few minutes?
Water from the top. A succulent's roots are shallow, and watering from the bottom doesn't simulate the "soak and dry" conditions it needs. You can learn more in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/9-yp-JPXENM/v-deo.html
Every time I see this succulent type I keep thinking that it's gotten stretched out!! I have to remind myself that it's supposed to look like that! Lovely, longer leaves compared to other echeverias. I definitely need to add this one to my garden 😊
Thank you for the care tips on the Topsy Turvy succulent! I had one that I believe had been overwatered at the store and soon after getting it hime, the leaves began falling off! I will try this succulent again but with a better eye on the watering method used by the the store I purchase from!
I just got one and have it by itself potted in my window with lots of sun. It looks very happy and I love the shape and color!!!
Any Echeveria I had in past did not do well for me I believe this was because I did not know the dormancy time for echeveria. I may try Topsy Turvy next time. Thanks for information I am sure will help next time.
After this nice video my 3 Topsy Turvy should be doing better indoor with more light & less water.
Again Thank you!
I learn so much from these videos. I am bringing my outdoor succulents indoors right now so it’s helpful to know that I can actually leave my topsy turvies on the balcony for most of the winter!
Meh. Haven't found one I just had to have. Maybe they're just not my thing? I have darn near every other E out there lol
Love the unusual look of this one. Have not seen it in the midwest, but that is probably b/c it hates snow and is not particularly a good indoor grower. Until I get better using grow lights, I would be be pretty hesitant to try this one in my 5b climate in WI.
I haven’t seen this one.. I like that is multiplies on it’s own. Love the planter AGAIN! 😀💕🌵
THis plant is pretty cool! I have one that looks somewhat similar only the leaves aren't wavy, and my plant is tiny because i propagated it from a leaf.
I'm just not drawn to Echeverrias. They aren't nearly weird-looking enough!
I bought a beautiful topsy turvy plant, but lost it during the summer heat. I think I overwatered it and it might have just gotten too hot. Now I know what to do. I'm going to try again because I love this plant.
This will be another one I plan on getting. Will look very cute in an arrangement!!
I killed my first one by overwatering i guess .. I tried to propagate the leaves but no luck they start to grow but eventually died.. Now i got a new one.
I’ve seen so many that are very prolific and am anxious for mine to have some babies!
Now I know what is in my mystery pot! Love all your videos and all the information you share with us!
I have one indoors under light and it’s got stem babies starting, it’s doing great and is so pretty and different!
I grow these indoor under a LED grow light. They are definitely one of my favorites! Nice pretty pink lavender color!
