Im a few years late, but this is an EXTREMELY underrated method. It works, its safer, it provides a saftey net, and is just easier to learn. Seriously, how does this only have 20k views? This method is an incredible refinement of woox walking and its thoroughly explained in an easy way to understand
While putting this together, I noticed you could actually pull more efficiency in your fights if you used this method. For odd-count attack speed weapons like the crossbow, you would lose a tick when woox walking, as you can only attack every other tick. If you modify this method, you can actually attack on the exact tick. I might make a follow up video if there's enough interest.
Cheers Excl! I have been getting back into OSRS after last playing 04-09 (and watching your hilarious skits). I'm about to do DS2 and will for sure come back to watch this before trying Vorkath myself! I'd have just played it safe and had super slow KC because woox walking is rather intimidating. Being able to try it with a built in mechanism for bailing out sounds amazing!
*grizzly old man voice* Back in my day, Excl was a Machinima maker, not a PVM guide. Neat video. I didn't know what a Woox walk was until you Woo(x)'d us all.
I'm not sure this method would work with the +1 range, as you wouldn't be able to get far enough back to get "out of range". Although, I'm curious if you could do something similar in the back corner, as squares sideways would get added to the range. It might be a little wonky, with lots of diagonal travel, but it might work.
@@WgdVids thanks for the reply. I got spooned the vork head but I am gonna try this out with the diagonals when i go back for the grind. I wouldn't have thought of that but i imagine it only works on a few tiles or maybe with a ctrl+click 😅 I'll report back if I ever do this
As someone who hasn't gotten to Vorkath yet and had never heard of Woox-Walking before this video, I am now filled with immense dread. On another note, have you tested this with any other bosses? It seems like a really good tactic.
Take it at your own pace! Almost anyone who knows what they're doing will say that you shouldn't try woox walking until you're very familiar with the boss. It's not at all necessary, just speeds things up a bit, but Vorkath is a great source of cash even if you aren't at max efficiency.
Didn't mean to imply I was the first to ever discover this. I'm certain this has been around forever. I just haven't seen any videos that explain this method. Most people will just say "Do a woox walk", which isn't exactly easy for everybody to jump into. I've had a few people ask me to explain how to do it this way, hence the video.

Okay, THIS should be what pops up when I search the method
Actually clear and you have defined steps
Thank you
This is the only method that I've been able to get to work and it completely jacks my Vork efficiency. Big thanks!

@Excl I absolutely adored your machinima videos when I was younger, hearing your voice again on relevant OSRS content is awesome haha, keep it up
4:59 I love the graceful gloves with void in the item retrieval lmao 😂
Damn Excl I haven't heard your voice in a long time (since the pre-old school days), glad to see you're still out there doing your thing!

Excellent stuff Excl! :) Let's make this a thing!
Interesting strat, I might try this. Cool to hear from you again Excl, old time fan here
To practice woox walking, couldn't I just bring some green dhide and a rune cbow so If I die, I would'nt need to buy my stuff back?
yea, you could just buy gear worth less than 100k and abandon it
THIS IS WAY EASIER DSESCRIBED AND DONE, YOUR THE MANNNNNNNNNNN
Great video
Im having issues learning this on my iron. Got spooned army crossbow but can't figure out how to do it at vorkath due to the 1 tile added range
