    Brilliant again Steve....as usual. Peeps..... watch.....learn and repeat. Open the door, close the door! Compact the impact and let the ball fly.
    Someone mentioned buttery.....that sounds like crispy from Tom Saguto ..... he's also a very good source of keen enthusiastic expert golf advice.
    Steve I know you know I love you, and think you've worked with TS before.....so know you'll be ok with me sharing his name on these posts.
    Respect❤

    Hi Steve been watching your channel for a few years but never tried your swing until yesterday. Normally a single digit golfer until lately am having serious problems. So I went out for 9 to give it a try. Was amazed at how free my swing became. My solid high shots returned? Really feels great but so did a lot of other changes I’ve made lately but gonna stick with it and see how it goes. Will report back when I get a few more rounds in. Always enjoy your channel 😊

    The eureka irons series is great. I get on my stationary bike and watch it weekly. It has definitely helped my scores

    I’m 51 never struggled hitting the ball. But I’ve always struggled directing flight . Your eureka drills have transformed my game. If wasn’t on south coast I would book a lesson. Might head up your way on holiday…..

    Great work Steve, I have tried this and it is a very solid, repeatable system for those that are thinking of trying it. It’s very easy to think as amateur golfers we clear our hips (especially as we get older), but the reality is we often stall on the way down. Left foot back really encourages the left hip to get deeper (away from the ball) and a clearing of the hips at impact. If I also capture the feeling of my right heel staying low and moving towards my left foot at impact I just seen to hit lasers!

    Hi Steve, thank you for all the great tips. Apart from getting something out of each, more importantly, when I get questions when playing with people I don’t know that needs a lot more work to improve, I simply now just refer them to subscribe to your channel. Keep up the great content you provide. 👍😘🇦🇺

    Just brought out the canes and went back to basics- I had drifted away from the technique and found no consistency- I have a nice setup in my garage here in AZ and began striking irons with foot powder on my irons - I hit 40 balls, all centered , which almost brought tears to my eyes. It was so automatic- I’m 75 and the buttery feeling off the face was just awesome- been awhile since I have felt that- thanks for your Eureka method- will be on the range tomorrow with the canes once the rain subsides 😊

    Would this swing reduce the distance?

  • @tacticaltruth8118
    @tacticaltruth8118 11 місяців тому +2

    So, feet open and shoulders parallel to the line? Hogan was open feet for wedges and closed feet for long irons. Can you compare and contrast these setups for us viewers?

    • @tacticaltruth8118
      @tacticaltruth8118 11 місяців тому +1

      Steve, hold the presses. I just tried this with my 7-iron and hit some of the longest and purest strikes I have ever hit in my life. It felt very weird compared to my usual feet and shoulders parallel to the target line swing … but it was amazing. Thanks!!

    Do you stand about 15-20 degrees open? It’s very difficult for me to turn my right hip back with this set up. How do you do this?

    • @stevejohnstongolf
      @stevejohnstongolf  11 місяців тому

      As an experiment focus on turning your trail shoulder and see what happens with your trail hip.

    Really interesting! Yet, I just had a coaching recently, as I was pulling most of my (iron) shots. The problem was my club path (approx. 11° in -to-out). The fix was, to have a more neutral take away, and not bringing the club to the inside too early... so I'm a bit concerned your advice could lead to a (too) strong in-to-out path for me again?

    • @stevejohnstongolf
      @stevejohnstongolf  11 місяців тому

      If the body rotates through impact it will neutralise.

    I as surprised this set up helped me shallow without trying but I’m still a bit heavy in my angle of attack. Question: when I set up open like this what prevents me from getting stuck?

    • @stevejohnstongolf

      The iron swing series will answer that for you.

    Ive struggled with hips opening to soon snatching at the top turning without tilt... i could go on😂 a friend told me about eureka . I tried it on course without seeing any videos. Just from his explanation. 😂 it worked i can assure you. I couldn't get my head around the face being open to path at first but then figured it out . When you turn it closes to path. Still not sure on ball position and sorry steve i aint paying money haha cant afford it.

    My irons are abysmal I hit behind the ball the majority of times (tried just about everything to stop ....nothing has worked to date.....distance is pathetic ....I used the hit them reasonable until someone said you need to use your right hand for more power and that was the start of it ruined my swing and game to the extent I don't enjoy playing anymore.....just a means to an end now exercise and fresh air...)With this setup do you swing out to the right along line....?

  • @johnf8122
    @johnf8122 11 місяців тому +1

    It's kind of like a Lee Trevino style of hitting the ball.....open stance with a swing path out to right field.
