You're not dumb at all Henry , many of us greatly appreciate this video, some people can't just buy everything all at once and you taking time to give your thoughts is very appreciated.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support on the video!
For everyone using the Sigma 18-35 on APS-C, it's not parfocal. It can only be parfocal by adjusting speedboosters for m43 systems.
Great Review!!! Just Got the 24-70 today & bought the 18-35 some yearz back
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! That’s awesome! I’m excited for you too! They are both amazing lenses!
Great thoughts Henry - thanks. I sold my 18-35 for the 24-70 for more focal length versatility (and more reach when I need it) and the OS for video work on the EOS R. I then added the Metabones EOS R Speedbooster which effectively gives me F2 light and around 29-30mm at the wide end in 4K.
That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m glad that the lens works well! Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
does it mean you have double adapters?
@@fengshuischoolindonesia6161 yep, exactly.
Great video Henry :) actually a useful comparison as these are two lenses I own, but they overlap in so many ways. Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Thank you so much for supporting the video! I'm glad that you found the video helpful!
I'm literally thinking of these now. Leaning towards 1835 cos I shoot in small spaces. Great video covering all the questions 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I’m glad that you found the video helpful! It means a lot to us!
sigma 24 70 F2.8 DG OS ART EF mount it's definitely a worthy investment since it can be very easily to be adapted to the other system like BMPCC6K / L mount , E mount or even Z mount , but the SIGMA 24 70 DG DN for E/L mount , they are intended for only 1 system . plus no optical stabilization.
Thank you for posting! This was a very helpful video regarding the two lenses.
You are very welcome! I’m glad that the video helped! Thank you so much for your support!
Thank you for this detailed comparison ❤
You are very welcome!
This video was incredibly helpful for me
I’m glad that you found the video helpful! Thank you so much for your support!
Is that was a apsc camera footage with lenses
A fantastic review!
Know anything about those lenses working on a Canon SL3?
This video is awesome!!!👏👏👏 does 18-35 fit to canon full frame camera as well as 24-70 (6d mark ii)?
Thank you so much for your kind words and support on the video! That’s a great question! The Sigma 18-35 is made for APSC cameras, so if you use it on a full frame camera, unless you have an APSC cropped mode, you will see a very heavy vignetting. Hope it helps!
@@henrymediagroup thank you so much for your reply! I will buy 24-70 then, the picture with this lens is beautiful! This video is super super helpful! I wish you good luck with your channel!
You are very welcome! I'm happy to be able to help! I'm excited for you getting the lens too! Definitely keep us updated! Thank you so much for your support on the channel! I will keep working hard!
It actually works at 35mm and actually for video from 28-35mm since top and bottom get cropped in video format. I use this as a 35mm f1.8 prime on my full frame camera for photo for long time.
Just a note. The brother 50-100mm f1.8 also act same way on full frame. You can use it as a 100mm f1.8 prime for photo (but too heavy as a prime lens). Or 85-100mm on video format. Very interesting combo lens fron sigma.
The video I was looking for!
Great video. Thanks for the comparison!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! It means a lot to us! Have a great day!
Im thinking of selling my 800D and 18-35 to jump full frame with a R6ii and the sigma 24-70, mainly because I shoot shows and I need better high ISO performance… but after watching this video I realize how much sharper the 18-35 is! Now I’m having second thoughts but wondering how I can improve the low light performance for photo with this lens
Have you considered the Canon 17-55?
Forgive me if that's a stupid question. 18-35 is a super35 lens, 24-70 is a full frame lens. If i use 24-70 with speedbooster on S35 sensor, is the field of view bigger then 18 without speedbooster? (I'm wondering if 18-35 is useful at all then)
Speedbooster keeps it similar
Thanks brother! It was convenient review.
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for your kind words and support on the video!
Isn't the 24 to 70 a full frame lens? That would mean it's actually wider, no?
i like more the 18-35 f1.8 footages more i dont know why, but i have metabones xl 0.64 with my pocket 4k so 1.22x crop factor vignetting at 18-22mm a lot. And have an other fullframe camera mostly for photography works, this is a canon eos r6. So yeah. I always like to have a sigma 18-35 but i need realize, the 24-70 is a must have lens.
very nice insights 👍
Thank you so much!
Which lens is better for an Rap Musicvideo shoot??
I already have a 50mm f1.8, a 18-150 f3.5/5 and a 70-300 f4/5.6. I want to sell my Yongnuo 35mm f2 (it has very poor quality relatively) and bought one of these two sigma of the video. I do Video (with gymball) and Photography for social events. Usually at night like weddings, night clubs, 16 birthdays. But also during the day in outdoor too. I think that I never pulled the zoom when I already get the focus setted. If so, I always set the focus again. I have APS-C (the canons 90D y R7) and have no intention to get a full frame camera in a lonnng time.
I can't decide hahah. Wich lens do you recomend for me man? Thanks in advance!
love this video! exactly what I was looking for, and great content. Thank you!

Hi Henry!..I see that your using a GH5 camera??..are you not using Speedbooster or adaptor for these lenses??
Hi! That’s a great question! I do use a speed booster when I’m using these lenses with my GH5, here is the one I use:

Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support!
@@henrymediagroup ok thank you for your quick reply!😊🤘👍💪...I apreciate it a lot..😊..
I only thought that maybe your using a MFT sigma 18-35 f1.8 😆😆😆 then I will surely buy it without thinking to buy any speedbooster anymore.hahaha!..
Because I bought a Sigma 16mm F1.4 that is MFT mount so I thought theres a new sigma 18-35 directly for MFT..😆😆😆
You are very welcome! I see, sorry for the confusion. The Sigma 16mm MFT lens is definitely a great lens! Thank you so much for your support!
Thanks for this great video

Can I use 18-35 on Full frame sensor? (Bmpcc 6k FF)
thanks for the review.
You are very welcome! Thank you so much for your support!
Nice review. I think if I got the 18-35, I will skip 24-70 and get 24-105 f4. And use that lens for outdoor or studio.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! That's a great point! Getting the 105mm longer reach is definitely great especially with the compression and separation!
Very helpfull video. Would you say that the sigma 18-35mm is significantly sharper than the 24-70mm or they are about the same?
That's a great question! I think they are very similar when it comes to sharpness, they are both very sharp. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
@@henrymediagroup thank you!

@8:18, so is it best to turn the IS to OFF when subject in front of camera is moving pretty fast and then correct in post?
Thanks for doing this review, this came out in really good timing. I already have the sigma 24-70 but need something to cover the wider end of things and for when I'm using my gimbal. I am trying to decided if I should go with the sigma 18-35 or the sigma 14-24, as the 1.8 aperture is not deal breaker for me. What would you recommend if you had to choose?
That’s a great question! I have never used the Sigma 14-24 before but the 18-35 F1.8 Art lens has very well built quality with amazing sharpness performance. I think the price to value ratio of the 18-35 is very high. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support!
@@henrymediagroup Which lens you recommended for the Bmpcc4k?
That’s a great question! I would say the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 will cover most of the situations. The 24-70mm is more of a specialty lens if you want the longer focal length for the compression. Hope it helps! Thank you so much for your support!
@@henrymediagroup what you think of the rokinon lens vs sigma 18-35 and sigma 50-100?
We have never used Rokinon lenses before but they are manual cine lenses compare to Sigma’s photo lenses. They have focus gear and longer focus throw so they will be better for videos but not really for photos. Hope it helps!
It makes no sense to buy the 24 to 70 and use it on a crop body. It's like you're comparing two light bulbs but you don't feed power to one of them.
Fits on a 250D?
Thanks. How would we take out the blurry lines over the lights seen in the video?
Shutter speed to low I believe
So if im using a crop sensor camera (t8i), the 18-35 is actually ~29-55mm, correct? Or are you saying that it already accounts for the crop factor for APS-C cameras, and that its ~29-55mm for FULL frames only, and its true 18-35 for aps-c?
the 18-35mm is already a crop sensor lens, what its labeled as is what you get. You only have to worry about conversions if you're comparing a full frame to a crop sensor. bottom line, if you only shoot crop, these conversions are going to be irrelevant to you.
@henrymediagroup does the IS work on the red Komodo?
That's a great question! Unfortunately we have not had a chance to get our hands on a Red Komodo yet, hopefully you can find the information from other users. Thank you so much for your support on the video!
amazing

thanks

thats weird, my 18-35 is parfocal... maybe theres variation who knows
Can u make a compare Sigma 70-100mm vs Sigma 24-70mm
Man, the more I watch this video, the less sense it makes... Let me explain to you what is the problem, please because you are doing something very wrong. You are comparing a full-frame lens to a crop-sensor lens. The only thing that actually makes sense is the one thing you say doesn't (to compare these 2 leses). It makes perfect sense to compare them, because they are pretty much the same lens, but for 2 different sensor types - crop and full frame. You did very little justice to that fact, and you only mentioned the 18-35 full frame equivalent, that is 29-56, but it was not enough. The other lens IS a full-frame lense, it doesn't have an equivalent!! If you put it on a full-frame body, you will get the full 24-70mm action. What you should have done is the other way around, put the full-frame lens on a full-frame camera, and calculate what glass you will need to match that on the crop camera. So if you do it this way, you will see your crop sensor camera will need a lens that is 15-43mm @ F1.7. Do you see the diffence now? The 24-70 lense is BETTER in EVERY way. It's WIDER at it's widest, it's TIGHTER at it's tightest and the depth of field (what you call bokah) IS actually MORE!!!! So this should be a comparison between a 15-43mm F1.7 and 18-35 F1.8 ... which one is better? Of course the first one. One thing to clear up: You get the F1.7 equivalent by divind the F2.8 by the crop factor, but that only applies to the depth of field (bokah). It doesn't apply to the exposure of the picture, you will not get a brighter exposure, you will sill get exposure at F2.8 so you will need to bump up the ISO a little bit in order to match the F1.8 lens... but that doesn't matter, because the full-frame sensor is SO much better, that it would STILL produce less noise in the shadows even at F2.8! So why it's good to compare those 2 lenses? Because, since the 24-70 is criminally expensive, and if you don't even have a full-frame camera, you might wanna get the 18-35 for a fraction of the price for your crop sensor camera and KINDA achiev the same look... still won't be the same, but it's very close. So the 18-35 is kinda like the chaper alternative to the 24-70 :) I hope it makes sense now. The 24-70 is better in every way if you use it on the camera it was made for, if you use it on a crop camera you are missing the point of it. Actually, here's a real tip: There is a dirt cheap amazing crop sensor lens by sigma that is 17-50 F2.8 OS. That is what you should have been comparing the 18-35 to, if you want to do a comparison on your crop sensor camera, and that's the lens you should get if you can't afford either of the other 2. Hope that makes sense :)
Please somebody tell him to raise his DB in the mic!
sigma 18-35 is parfocal…. maybe you got bad version..
