These The Smile drops are giving me that nostalgic feeling of when Radiohead were dropping blips on our dial up internets. I'm loving it.
Not I... I'd had a 56k modem only two days - struggling to get anything from Audiogalaxy in less than an hour - when I was asked if I'd like to take part in a Yorkshire Cable trial of this new thing called 'broadband'... twenty two years now. :)
This is my favorite song by the band and I think I still prefer the rawness of the live version. I love how loud and ominous Thom’s guitar sounds in this version when the second chorus comes

@@noahpovey9221 another interesting thing is Jonny live alternates with the fifth when he plays in the D chord. On the album he goes up to octave while the A and F are played in alternating fifths. To have them alternate fifths live creates a more ominous descending feel that, while simpler, feels more dramatic and effective
@@Foges6694 yeah when i saw them live even on 'The Same' i think either thom or jonny were messing around with effects with added alot to it
Live is the way to go. Raw real sound no production.
I don't know how to describe this. It's like old school "punk" but softened by, also old school, synths and Thom York's voice.

Not 2 Attack, But 2 Reflect: As It's Difficult to See Ourselves without A Communal Round of Sight Which is Missing in Our Separatist Society:: The Album is Filled with Simplistic Good songs... & These Live Spots Seem to not Be in That Same Groove. The Drummer Doesn't need 2 Sing.Thom Doesn't Need to Switch INstruments. It Can Be Hard to Find A Good Setup for Live Performances & it Can take some Time --- I Would Take Out the Light Show & Try To Simplify even More :) There seems 2 Be An Invisible Wall Between The Band & The Audience, where The Band is Unsure if It will Be Accepted, As It's A new Band. But, I'm sure anyone Showing up is oNly Doing SO with Love.

Great performance but such a shame to see all those phones out. When are we gonna learn that living on your phone during a live show is the absolute worst way to experience anything? Nobody cares you went to see a show. They are just gonna skip or pass by the footage anyway.

I think that's just the part they wrote. Sounds bummed, but they've been performing it like that since the first show in may last year
