Incredible !!!! What would ..... Richard Pearce say from New Zealand or the Write Brother's from the U.S.A ... Both Respectively deserve a mention . GOD bless these men for being the forefathers of powered controlled flight . Richard Pearce actually had aleirons and the Wright brothers wing waulping .. I'm in oar , and have now watched this short at least one hundred times 🤪 seriously at least !! I'm still getting a thrill every time I see those wheels roll not even twice!!! And that amazing prop sound ,,. Sounded like a Rotax at first but boy that is amazing ..to see the power on , flaps down ... Airborne.. flaps up...😳. GONE ! !!! !!!
My neighbors fly those STOL airplanes off our runway behind our houses. So fun to watch them. Like little kids when the wind is just enough to get off fast.
I saw a piper cub fish spotter plane do this many years ago but the plane went backwards after takeoff. When the pilot eventually made it back to Merimbula airport, he landed on the taxiway in under 10 meters
Not a Piper Cub, it's a Highlander Super STOL. Far lighter and different aircraft, plus his is highly modified, including engine. It only kinda looks like a cub only with your prescription glasses removed 100 yards away....
Yamaha modified snowmobile engine cranking 300 hp at 11,500 rpm. The engine can put out more, but the strength of the gear reducer limits Steve to 300 hp.
This planes 😮😮😮... Is such a WoW thing. So incredible aeroplane... I love the way it lands or takeoff... So WoW 😮😮😮. I wish a Happy and safe flights new year...
Is your mom Phyllis Steitz Henry? If so I m Shirley Steitz your 2nd cousin. I love your plane and love flying. Yours is a home made kit plane? My Uncle was Donald Lorraine Steitz,Phyllis s dad.
Depending on how light it is, and how much surface area there is for lift, combine with wind speed, ya, that’s totally doable! In fact, if there is a steady wind at 20mph, he could conceivably land the thing vertical relative to ground speed.
My rc planes require more runway lol
THAT'S THE SHORTEST RUNWAY I HAVE EVER SEEN.!!!!
😅
👍😂
Need to fully lock the brakes go wide open throttle release breaks full flaps and pull up!
I want one so bad now that was so impressive 😂
2 rotations on the tires 🤦♂️ ❤
I see it
Those tires are gonna last forever.
Yep, and left the ground in the length of the aircraft !!
Have been counting too 😂
Just over 2 1/2
A set of tires must last you decades! 😊😉
Unfortunately no they are made of a super soft compound but I see why you wou think that since they only made two rotations
😂
Thought he'd NEVER get airborne!
Hahaha
"You can pick it up any time ya Luke there, Captain"
(See: "The vodka burner is rolling")
Now that’s Funny!
When an airplane identifies as a helicopter.
No, just no. Don’t say shit like that!
When an airplane is light and has a powerful engine.
@@billyjoe3309🤓☝️
@@billyjoe3309does the mere idea of queer people jokes scare the shit out of you that badly?
Have you looked at the world? It's gone completely nutter!@@tripwire3992
Don't make airplanes gay
Amazing!!! The length of his airplane? That's not a takeoff, that's a lift-off
There is a very strong head wind, it is normal for him to get up so early.
My birth certificate says I'm 60, but I feel like 6 when looking at that beauty
You obviously have the right altitude😅😂
My birth certificate doesn't give me my age, it does give my birth date though.
Now that is what I call a short takeoff
Does it not qualify to be a helicopter
Short field, soft field takeoff.
Yea that’s the entire purpose of the video… 😒
It looks like he had trained to fly over his two story home on a 30' runway is his back yard. The Hp / torque / to weigh ratio is impressive.
The internet: How many acres do I need on my property to make a runway?
This guy: What's an acre?
😅
2
I'm not sure as much as you need you'll figure it out
What’s a runway? 😮💨
@@thelastrebelshow1627 it's a strip of land that some airplanes take off and land on
But can he land 🤔
“We don’t need no stinkin runway!”
That's a helluva head wind!
Very impressive.
What did I just watch!!!! That’s crazy!
2 tire rotations that is crazy. That engine is turning some good rpm and I bet that prop is expensive.
He's got a hell of a headwind to give him the lift he needed to get off the ground that fast.
Yeah you can see it is blowing hard
Этот самолёт из компонентов пластика плюс мощный движок😊
Its the plane.
Steve makes his own headwind with 300 hp at 11,500 rpm!🤣
Balsa wood and nylon fabric, with a few bits of carbon fiber and aluminum.. Probably under 500lb including the engine.
I've seen some of the landings but this is the first take-off that I seen.
Jeez! Even more impressive! 😲
The tires rotated 2 ½ times before lift. Wow.
Cool as hell.
Spectacular I could takeoff in my driveway
Weird looking helicopter
It’s SUPER CUB helicopter!
Super Cubter
Impressive power and wing loading
When you're really late for the meeting.
I didn't even know Steve Harvey was a pilot? I just thought he had a TV show!
Steve henry not steve harvey
@@garystoltz573 Same same, bald headed black guy, one has a talk show the other flys a STOL plane
😂😂😂
Wow! That gives a whole new perspective to short take off.
Damn he moves those flaps like how some people can wiggle their ears
Hydraulic!
Espectacular no necesitamos tanto terreno para el despegue
what was that 6-7 ft?
Watch the flap action. That’s hands on stuff.
Yes, really... Wow, so he could have taken back out the flaps in an instant, should they be needed, but no, already fast enough to climb out ;-)
One aircraft length and he's airborne. WT?
When you want your tires the last as long as possible.....🙃🙂
You could take off and land on your own house roof! Imagine FedEx delivery that fast.
Чудесно, и на огороде места хватит

This plane lifts so fast, it's truly breathtaking!
🛫
Runway? I don't need no stinkin runway!
Doolittle flying off aircraft carrier. Henry : hold my beer.
More fun in a DHC-6-300…full flaps and a 25lt headwind….empty, off the ground just as fast…who? Me? No way…I’d never do something like that! No way!
“How much runway do you need?”
Pilot: “I think a picnic table is more than enough”
It's like flying a kite... except instead of having it on a string, you're IN the kite.
Man that sounds like a turbo charged Wankel behind that prop.
300 hp turbocharged Yamaha at 11,500 rpm.
I saw a piper cub fish spotter plane do this many years ago but the plane went backwards after takeoff. When the pilot eventually made it back to Merimbula airport, he landed on the taxiway in under 10 meters
😮. Dayum! It appears that pilot just flew his plane off the ground inside the overall length of the plane. For an airplane… that’s a first for me.
Slats n flaps n headwind
He can probably landed in just that short of distance too. Those Pilots are amazing
The sheer joyful feeling
"Ok so were we gonna land?"
"In mah backyard"💀
someone needs to build a mini-draco.
next they will be taking off backwards
anyone notice how much wind was blowing into his space?
What a wonderful short takeoff amazing
Just needs a parking lot to take off ;-)
... and land on nothing more than a dime ;-)
i really thought it will run on the ground for like a 100 meters but then it took off like a dam helicopter wtf lol
Jeeze, my rc plane doesn't take off that fast!!
SHORT runway! The plane must have a very powerful motor, and lift must be very good! Amazing!
300 hp turbo Yamaha.
Special ground effects flaps and 18 inches added to each wing tip for competition!
Used to fly ultralights, took a little longer to become airborne , so much fun!
Less than 10ft roll. Nearly as Helicopter !
Extra nice when you have a 20 mph headwind.
Esse que é o avião...
Now that's getting airborne in a hurry 😁
Maravilhoso apenas 3 metros para decolar.....
This would require a very short aircraft carrier.
When you can have a runway in your backyard
Wings and tires inflated with hydrogen???
🤣
When you though it couldn't rev any higher 😊
Unbelievable , take off in light breeze
Americans always do these weird sports that basically mean using the biggest engine available. I am equally impressed and dismayed.
Weight is everything in a plane.
Turbocharged Yamaha snowmobile engine cranking 11,500 rpm.
Controlling the flaps the whole time. Damn that’s being in tune with your plane
But mom, I want to be a helicopter when I grow up
BallOOn tires make it FUN ☘️
Thank goodness, a strong headwind.
Those planes don't need a runway.
Caramba, subiu em 3 ou 4 metros!!!
That was like 10 feet
It's almost a helicopter !
Must have been overloaded.
That Piper Cub design is 100 years old. Fighter pilots trained in them for WW2 you could fly it from the back seat.
Not a Piper Cub, it's a Highlander Super STOL. Far lighter and different aircraft, plus his is highly modified, including engine.
It only kinda looks like a cub only with your prescription glasses removed 100 yards away....
Not a piper. However built off same design lighter frame bigger engine.
Wow😳😳😳 What a short take off!!!
I need one!!!
Take my wallet
Tire made like 2 rotations
He took flight in less then 20 yards that's crazy
You mean less than 5 yards?
Super 👍!!!
how much does the plane cost
25 mph wind sure helps
One plane length 😮😮😮😮
How much does an airplane cost? Is it a gasoline engine or an electric motor engine?
300 hp turbocharged Yamaha engine at 11,500 rpm.
listen to that turbo spool up, wonder what engine and PSI
Yamaha modified snowmobile engine cranking 300 hp at 11,500 rpm. The engine can put out more, but the strength of the gear reducer limits Steve to 300 hp.
Where's Mike Pattie?
This planes 😮😮😮...
Is such a WoW thing.
So incredible aeroplane...
I love the way it lands or takeoff...
So WoW 😮😮😮.
I wish a Happy and safe flights new year...
Now the best thing would be if he could land it in the same amount of space 😅
He often does.
Pretty high lift to weight wing ratio
This only happens with strong headwinds
300 hp headwind 🤣
His stall speed is 20 mph so he has taken off vertical with brakes set.
Nice 👍
today's technology and the carbon cub rc planes. Worked at Ross Aviation . Mostly STOL aircraft, twin otters, dash 7s and an FH-227,
Is your mom Phyllis Steitz Henry? If so I m Shirley Steitz your 2nd cousin. I love your plane and love flying. Yours is a home made kit plane? My Uncle was Donald Lorraine Steitz,Phyllis s dad.
Dang! This pilot can take off of helipads!
Depending on how light it is, and how much surface area there is for lift, combine with wind speed, ya, that’s totally doable!
In fact, if there is a steady wind at 20mph, he could conceivably land the thing vertical relative to ground speed.
Ten feet runway
Sound looks like motorcycle engine
300 hp turbocharged Yamaha modified snowmobile engine.
