Thank you so much for showing us your results and your step-by-step process. This is probably the most thorough dehydrating tutorial I've ever watched!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Please consider joining me on my blog as well stockingmypantry.com because that's where I post most of my content.
Nice informative video. Thank you for taking the time to share. Love the pictures. Picture is worth a thousand words. Words and pictures together are awesome!
great video, as I watch this, I started my first batch of citrus. Never dehydrated before but am seeing all the things you can do to store food. When I grew up we canned foods. My mom would have loved having a dehydrator...
Me too!! It's what I always use, because I always have them on hand, and since they crumple up easily, I can put them in both wide mouth and regular mouth jars.
In the paint section, one can buy TSP which is excellent to remove oils from laundry or dishwashing. Two home products are bean water, or the best of all, pasta water. Salted pasta water will make your dishes squeaky clean and take all oils out of laundry.
@@StockingMyPantry thank you for your posts. Hit an Aldi sale on mushrooms but they are getting old because of a bad tooth. I needed to find a way to preserve them and I found your channel. Dehydrating and vacuum sealing is where my disposable income is going for a while.
Thanks for watching and for your kind words. I have never dehydrated butter, and don't think it would work. The fat content is too high, to such a degree I don't think it would ever dehydrate. It likely also wouldn't store well due to the high fat content.
Thank you! With my current living situation, it's hard to record video, so I switched to blogging, which I still love. Starting with the blog and using it to make videos seems to be the only way to go right now, as I can record early in the morning or late at night. I hope you're doing well!
Sprinkle dried cheese on any recipe that calls for cheese or add to storage foods that need the oomph only cheese can provide. Powdered cheese has a long shelf life of 10-15 years.
You're very welcome! I hope you enjoy it! I've now done several different types of cheese such as fiesta blend, mozzarella, and pepper jack, and all have worked great!
Hi Claudia, great question! I would think so, though I haven't tried it so can't say for sure. To be honest, I don't sew and don't know my fabrics well, but I think the fabric would be similar, so I'd give it a shot!
Muslin would definitely work, since it's 100% cotton just like a flour sack towel. I know it sounds weird, but you can get very high quality organic muslin towels from a cloth diaper company. My favorite is Green Mountain Diapers. Of course, you can get them plenty of other places, that's just one that I know and love. Muslin works great for so many things!
A massive thank you for a fantastic informative video as I'm a newbie to dehydrating and love cheese too, your video helped a lot and going to try it today.
This is a complete game changer, thank you for taking the time to research this process! BRILLIANT❤

love the idea of having shredded cheese in storage! thumbs up
Thanks so much! 😊I'm right there with you. I'm so happy that this worked out! I think as long as you keep it vacuum sealed, it will store well.
You are are an excellent instructor. Will be following you as you are one of the best..

I love the coffee filter idea when vacuum sealing powders.

The melted cheese!!! How amazing, thank you for sharing your research. I love these kinds of meticulous notes and experiments
You're very welcome! I was happy to discover it myself, because I do love cheese. :)
I discovered that in the store bought shedded cheese it contains powdered cellulose ( ground up wood pulp) it prevents clumping when they package it.
Awesome information, thank you for helping to simplify life!

This is great just what I needed! Have you ever dehydrated butter into powder? If so do you have a video on it?

Can you use cheese slices?
I have a question: would muslin fabric work just as well as the flour sack fabric?
