Gamo Urban PCP .22 caliber is a beast , it shreds pellets when they hit the target .. turns em straight into shrapnel .. the knock down power is unrivaled ..
The Gamo Magnum loves heavier domed pellets around 18gr. The Air Arms Field Heavy Diabolo are very accurate and very potent. The JSB Hades do very well too.
I have heard a lot about this powerful Gamo swam .22 magnum. I will purchase this Gamo magnum soon. I have the Hatsan 135 caliber .25 and I love it. After shooting more than 16 different .25 cal pellets in my 135. I can say the most accurate pellets in my rifle are. 1- JSB exact king heavy ( MKll) 33.95 gr. ( perfect fit, great power, cero smoke) 2-- Predator Polymag 26 gr 3-H&N Sport Field Target thophy 19.91 gr( great accuracy but a little smoke) 4-H&N Sport Baracuda 31,02 gr. .
Bought one when it first came out... loved it. Bought another frome someone who did not care for the 60 pound cooking. Mine are not for sale! Thanks for the video!
that gun with the right pellet will still retain a little over 7fpe at 100 yards. i calculated this based off the ballistic coefficient of a specific pellet and the muzzle velocity it was being shot at, from there you can get the fps at any distance and thus the fpe. in the case i did it drops from close to 1000fps at muzzle to about 476fps at target with that pellet, as i said ending on target with 7.2fpe @ 100yards. i'm not saying this is it's effective range, but you can definitely kill rabbit, squirrel and small birds from 100 if you had to. to me this is the ultimate budget shtf gun, just keep an xtra gas piston on hand because anything else including ammo can be made or fixed easily on break barrels. usually the spring to but this is a gas piston spring so you'd need to replace it if ti ever failed. the only better airgun for shtf is a smaller packable pcp big bore but they are $1500+ to check all the boxes and you still need to have an airpump and they will leak so will need more spare maintenance parts still. i still think the gamo wins tbh. i'd need to customize a stock tho to make this somewhat packable without shortening barrel all that said i have a chaser 22 rifle kit on back order imma try and make into a legit hpa/pcp packable carbine that has same fpe as this gammo. i'll need to use the 19" stormrider barrel or some other barrel i think to get there as i dont think the 17" one it comes with will quit make it
Wood expans when wet so it is gonna be harder to get thru. I actually shot a shovel handel in half with my magnum using 14.3gr hollow points. Took a while but I got it. Approximately 25-30yds
I just bought the Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Inertia Fed .22 Caliber 10-Shot Break Barrel air Rifle with Gamo 3-9x40 shockproof and fogproof scope on Amazon for $259 + tax! Can't wait to try it out!
Gammo is a smaller caliber than Hatsan so it’s most likely will have a deeper penetration. However, that does not mean the Gammo has a higher FPE. I’m pretty confident if you chronograph both rifles, Hatsan will have more FPE due to larger caliber and heavier grain.
i got my swarm magnum (gen 1) just after they started the lockdown. i am still in love with its power and accuracy. i shoot dime-sized targets at 50+ yards.
Yes, I got a new scope on the Gen2, but many warned on the recoil killing scopes, so I got the recoil scope holder that has a spring mech that saves the scope. But, it has a touch play that makes a lot of difference. So, I now simply push the scope up and that is how I set Zero on the scope so, it stays accurate. FunGun!
I didn't like the radical on the supplied scope so I put a Hawke Airmax 3-9x40 AO scope on my, Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN 2, .22. I used Crosman Premier Domed Ultra Magnum .22 Cal, 14.3 gr pellets, they had good reviews for this rifle & I didn't have time to check out other pellets. I didn't hunt much this year since I didn't get gun shipped till January, I had to sight it in & hunting season was getting ready to close. I got a Squirrel @ 29 Yards & a Rabbit @ 47 yards, both those shots were barely within the quick kill range of this rifle. If you want to hunt @ longer ranges get a 22LR rifle, if you can find the ammo, its sold out here & expensive when you can find it.
@@davidschmidt4227 hmmm I'm strong enough to cock it standing up holding the butt-stock, but I guess after 30x cockings, I brace it to crotch/leg. Shooting depends how far. 50 yards are longer I use whatever near me as a brace to aim off of for stability.
Dam that gamo magnum definitely some serious punch to it. I like that you don't need an air tank, compressor or hand pump to keep air in it. Just add lead. Might have to get one. If you get into pcp rifles check out the Airforce Condor SS in .25 caliber. It is a tack driver and a powerhouse. I love mine. Oh and they are easy to make really powerful with upgraded parts and different barrels. I actually damaged my .22lr steel spinner targets at thirty yards with my stock condor ss turned up to high power. It put a perfect pellet head shaped dent one sixteenth of an inch deep into the center of the spinner and the targets are rated for .22 long rifle bullets. But one of those Gamo magnums might have to be mine.
I’d say use exceptionally heavy pellets for the .22 and exceptionally heavy pellets for the .25 because I feel like that’s what makes the difference is with a .25 you’re getting a slightly larger pellet along with more weight to rip through that target better great video btw 👍🏼👍🏼
I love all gamo guns and I have them all and a few more . That gun is a beast my favorite but tough to cock . But it’s right on target all day long . Great video keep them coming I killed over 30 rabbits this year with that beast and I love it I’ve shot some high dollar air guns but for the money you can’t beat them and the service department is top notch also be safe
I bought recently the 10x Gamo swarm whisper (right above the Magnum) because of how light it is and I been using the Gamo Rocket lead pellets with a hardened steel tip Pellet Weight (grain): 14.3 grain when I hit a Rock Chucks with those you hear it. Whap!
I have a few break barrels in my collection that cheap pointed projectiles will robin hood at 20-25 yards. Some PCP's in my collection like them as well. I take down pests birds with some of the pointed pellets out to 30 yards or so.I do have good scopes on them. Also the U Tube channel STKO has used them on his videos and shoots them very well.depends on your barrel bores size. The smaller bore sizes in that caliber seems to shoot them very well.Ed the professional backyard sniper man😎✌
@@eddiecahall3824 The pointed pellets seem to shoot very well in all my pellet rifles. I got a Hatsan hercules bully in .25 caliber for the channel. I will be making some videos soon. Thanks for watching.
It's a great pellet rifle, just pace yourself, it's will mess your arms up, it's a tough one to cock. You will feel like you spend all day in the gym working out your upper body.
Hatsan 135 in .22 is needed for fair test...Hatsan velocity differs from .22 to .25... By about 250fps..I like the Gamo mag system...now if it had open sights.I'd like to have the woodgrain bone collector to park next to my .30 walnut 135.
I will be doing a chronograph test video soon and compare energy of different weight pellets and different calibers rifles. I think it will be interesting. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.👍😎👍
@Matt V I like the Hatsan blitz, but I think I'm leaning more towards the Hatsan hercules bully in .30 caliber. I just don't want to waste pellets and air with an automatic. But I still need one though!!🤣🤣
@Matt V I have a pro chronograph XL coming in the mail it should be here on the 17th I plan on trying the Gamo swarm magnum .22 and the Hatsan 135 .25 caliber with all different weights in types of pellets at 20-40-50 and 60 yards to see what the energy is at the different distances on the targets.
Just a minor correction, cocking effort is 41lbs. The FPE is around 21fpe for the .177 and around 24-26 fpe for the .22. You have to go to a .25 or .30 for more fpe in a break barrel right now.
9:15 - "Gamo claims it has 41ft-lbs of muzzle energy" around 26ft-lbs is more like it. I've never heard of a spring piston air rifle delivering more than low 30's and only a handful of those.
I know what Gamo said is wrong about 41 fpe. I ran many different gn pellets across my chronograph and the best fpe is with pba pellets, I got 30 fpe, and about 25- 27 fpe with other different pellets.
I just paid $309 from Cabelas. Free shipping. It came with a scope. Its very accurate without the scope. I have not put the scope on yet. So far, and I've only put 40 shots through it, it's a nice gun. Only complaint is, it's super hard to cock. That barrel must be some tough steel. I'm hoping itll get easier, or I'll get stronger.
Just sold mine for 200. Only used it few times. My 10 yr old can’t break it, and little heavy. I myself found that breaking it was annoying after while, it’s a hard break. Took 200 bought a PCP Gauntlet 2. On positive note the Magnum is a beast of gun, if not going need to break the barrel a lot, it’s great small game.
Pretty interesting video but in my experience lead pellets aren't really that great they tend to smush up and deform too much you need a high-grade alloy pellet something that's much stronger that will hold its shape better that alone you'll be surprised at how much more penetration you'll get
Just bought my second BB gun - the first being a ruger blackhawk 177, the second a magnum. I did so because I want my nephew to get his lead on with me.
I like to shoot mag Break Barrels to long distances, to 100 yards with my Gamo Mag .22. So naturally, I favor a good domed pellet on the heavy side. I have tried a few tipped pellets, but they usually have not flown well past 40 or so yards. Not so with the H&N Hornet. That pellet shoots just as good if not better than the 18 and 15gr. JSB's Domes, (Hunter extreme H&N very good too), and in the right hands, is a 100 yard gun. I am at 90 yard 2" targets now, 4 out of 5 shots with that Hornet. They have a thicker skirt also, no dents.
The H&N Hornets are SOOOOO EXPENSIVE, Ineed to find some that are not $55 a tin of 200. I'm going to try out the Gauntlet in .25 and see how it performs. I love my break barrels, but I want to try a PCP, do you have any experience with PCP?
@@makerofmanythings8447 I think the .22 Hornet is about $24.00/200pc. Yes, expensive, but if you like head shots on small game, because it goes long, I have to say it will be very hard to beat. I used 200, blew my mind, and should have 1,200 more on the way soon. :) I was going to go big for my first PCP, the FX .35cal Impact, but they never came out with it,---so I bought the Gamo. I have found the secrete to shooting a break barrel. They say "hold them loosely". I say try not to touch the thing at all, just squeeze the trigger as the only force into the stock. You can make the trigger lighter in pull for that. Even a 3.5lb trigger, (yours stock, can easily be made lighter with a longer screw and some bump testing), wants to move the gun when you are not touching it. Let me saver you time and money for a pellet you do not want to try. The JSB monster 25.xxgr. pellet .22. They tumble through the air and get 6" groups at 35 yards. The gun shoots a lot of pellets really good, but I think I am going to stick with H&N brand for now. I like the thicker skirt, and their quality seems a bit better IMO. Both the Hornet and the 18.xxgr. Hunter extreme are really really good in this gun. Those are all the H&N I have tried so far.
I liked this video Very much and I also have that Rifle and they are Extremely Power with no doubt!!! Thank-You for taking the Time that it takes to make a really great shooting Video…..I totally destroyed a steel car 🚙 door with mine, it’s one that I used to test pellets in different grains….
I previously owned a swarm magnum but the cocking effort was too much to get rapid fire out of it. I took the *slightly* decreased power and much less cocking effort of the swarm Maxxim instead. One day I may pick one back up
It was a interesting video. But I think it would been Fair comparison if you've been using H&N pellets for both guns as croman uses a harder alloy then the H&N their is a softer lead. Also you used a pointed pellet in the Gamo. Pellets should be the same shape/ type. If you made another video with that criteria I would watch it again.
Was wondering if you could do a p penetration test with heavier pellets for the hatsan. If you use heavier pellets with the 25, it will increase the knock down power and accuracy down range. To calculate foot pounds of knocked power multiple the velocity of the projectile times itself then multiply that number by the mass of the pellet and divide by 450, 400. Example: if the Gamo swarm shoot 650 fps, multiple 650*650. That will give you a , velocity squared calculation of 422,500. Them multiple this number times weight of projectile, which in this case is 14.3 grains. 14.3*422,500=6,041,750. Then divide sum by 450,400 the aquire knock down force. 6,041,750/450,400=13.414.... Assuming the rifles has a velocity of 650fps, the knockdown of this rifle using said ammunition is 13.41ft/lbs of knockdown power. By using heavier pellets with the 25, you may get deeper penetration. It'll slow the velocity down just a little bit, but because of the heavier ammunition it'll maintain that velocity of a greater distances eliminating drop. Look forward to seeing another video
Your Gamo is still dieseling unlike the Hatsan you've shot many times. Wait until after you've shot your Gamo magnum about 300 shots or so and then retest them. You have to use an equal penetrating projectile in both, say like pointed ammo only which pointed would distribute an equal balance or use a domed pellet in both. I've done all these things to know the best ways to compare. Also you can make balistic gel and use equal comparable ammo for both. If one air rifle has been shot 300 times than the other needs to be the same. I can make any of them diesel. Or buy new air rifles and then test equally after making sure they're shooting and holding power properly without any defects or damage going on with the power plants..Ed the professional backyard sniper man ✌ lol
@@eddiecahall3824 Do you mean BANG and smoke rolls out, or a tiny whisp of smoke but no extra sound? Every spring/gas piston I've had settle down very quickly and velocity never dropped off again. So I guess there could be varying degrees of dieselling, but in my experience (30 years and more guns than I can admit to) once you stop hearing it and getting noticable smoke, the velocity you get is all spring/gas piston.
@@stanpotter7764 I can't speak for your air rifle. But each air rifle of the same type are all diffrent. Some can quit dieseling soon and some may not stop for several shots and some can keep dieseling quite longer. If it's built and put together properly,it will diesel a very long time it seems. If the factory didn't build it properly it may not diesel very much I have found over time. I'm 53 and shooting since I was 7 or so. So I'm not new to this game here. I have an air rifle today that I bought 6 years ago in 177 cal. I've shot it a lot over 1 tin of pellets and it will still crack like a 22 rimfire powder burner. I believe it is one of many that was put together properly from factory. A lot and I mean A lot of break barrels are NOT put together properly whe you purchase one. I've sent back as many as 12 to the manufacturer before I got a good one. I own one of the largest air rifle collections in the United States. Antique to current. 177 to the notorious 20mm Air elephant big bore PCP. I own a chrony ,actually a few. I do have an indoor range 25 yards. I've been testing a lot over the years. Hope some of this helps as above mentioned 😉👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. I have ran a tin of pellets through the Gamo swarm magnum. 22 and it feels exactly like it did when it was new, VERY HIGH COCKING FORCE, AND ALOT OF POWER.
@@stanpotter7764 It 100% is if you do the math.I have seen 1250 fps on mine. Shot through 3/4 plywood through a plastic trash can behind it and then penatrated dry wall. Hole in the plywood was the size of a dime on the back. So don't be so quick to sound knowledgeable.
@@colecole3352 Ha haa! You picked picked a ballistics fight with the wrong dude, my man. I have Gamo Magnums in both .22 and .177. The .22 pushes a 14.3 gr pellet to about 980 fps which is 30.5 ft/lbs. The .177 makes about 24 ft/lbs. A standard high velocity .22lr bullet weighs 40 grains and hits 1250 for almost 140 ft/lbs of energy. And the really hot 22lr ammo like the CCI Stinger and Velocitor make 180+ ft/lbs. Velocity means nothing without mass. There you go, you got a math/physics/ballistics lesson for free. But seriously, before you run your mouth about "do the math", you might actually want to DO THE MATH! 🤣🤣
@@davidschmidt4227 Lol, thanks man. I get that not everybody knows this stuff, but there is something about guns and ballistics that makes people want to make unsubstantiated claims. Thank you for teaching, and congrats on retirement!
In my experience with my Hatsan 135 in 0.25 calibre, spring version, I noticed way more penetration in wood when using pointed pellets. I bet the smaller calibres would go through more easily.
Thanks for watching, I'll try the Hatsan 135qe .25 caliber with some H&N Hornets and some lead pointed pellets. I bet we'll get some pass through then. Thanks for the tip. When the H&N Hornets get back in stock and not $57 for a tin I'll make a video.
@@makerofmanythings8447 I had read that the lead used in the Crosman pellets carried a small amount of alloy to make it slightly harder than the softer leaded H&N & JSPs.
@@wdtaut5650 I like the accuracy of mine, open sights at 10metres ie 11yards. I have never tried scoping it properly though for longer distances. Shoots nice
that gamo swarm looks nice and slick! it also offers that sweet feature to avoid having to add a pellet every shot, with that being said its hard to compare penetration to power when you talk about a .25 cal vs a .22cal smaller pellets will always travel faster... a .177 could have beaten them all but the heavier/larger the pellet the more punch it carries as well as a bigger diameter of damage. either way you have a beautiful collection. i just love how the wooden stock looks on that Hatsan
I heard there is a real shortage of hand guns now. Ammunition is getting almost impossible to find. The big store has about a 25' glass show case with three shelves in them full of guns (normally). This week only the top shelf with about 10 hand guns and that's all. Ammunition was a few boxes for the people that buy a hand gun. The Gamo .144 & 22 calibrator pellet guns are going off the shelves as quick. Bass Pro Shop/Capella's in Katy, Texas only had 3 of the Gamo Swarm G2 22 calibrator left. They only had one tin of pellets and no magazines. If you are looking for a good pellet gun you better hurry.
I Have the 1.77 cal swarm Maxxim and the magnum is my next one.. but I have a 5.5 cal Artemis GR1600W single shot break barrel amongst others and it would destroy that plank deffo.. though not verry popular it seems its deffo the rifle I would hunt with.. its long and heavy and cocks heavy af too but the power, range and acuracy is mind blowing 😉👍
As I was saying I have a Remington 725 VTR which I think they don't make no more or sell anymore but if you want the same power as that it's the same exact thing as the Benjamin XL 1500 25 caliber that thing hits hard goes through a 2x4 with the Benjamin hornets
FYI, the Gamo mag makes about 27fpe, and your hatsan 135 may be a tad higher, (I had the .30 cal at 30fpe, and that is the most powerful springer gun from a factory). The Gamo will push the JSB 15.89gr. at about 865fps. The gun claims are usually just for the light alloy pellets for fast fps. I think it is misleading and they should just specify energy with an average pellet weight. If you calculated the 41fpe, you had a bad input, (or dieseling). If there is any oil, (some people play with a drop in the pellet skirt) being compressed behind the pellet, it ignites, gaining uncontrollable pellet speed, and can harm your gun.
I am aware of dieseling, but I have shot my Gamo magnum about 200 times and it still drives the $#%* out of the pellets. It's just a powerful. 22 magnum rifle.
@@makerofmanythings8447 I need to see some crony numbers from you to know where you are at. But I made a mistake clean9ing my barrel. I use solvent, (not oil), with a wire brush on a rod from the muzzle, and than about 15 dry patches until they come out clean. But because of that magazine mechanism, I forgot to clean the breech face. In about 100 shots, my fps was all over the place, (and so was my accuracy). The grime on the breech face was blown around the o-ring/sleeve seal, (which pulls right out easily), and i think air was blowing around it. I cleaned it, and used a tiny bit of gasket sealer on the end of the o-ring seal so air can not go around it. I used some brake cleaner on the breech face, (you can easily lift that plastic off the breech face with the barrel semi cocked position), and shot a 15gr at about 915fps, (normal was 865fps). I thought it was fumes, but I have had it do it after days of shots too. I have more to figure out with that. This gun is more powerful than quite a few .22 PCP guns, and in the .22 cal, the best PCP guns don't get much more powerful. 35fpe I estimate?
@@EarthSurferUSA I ordered a PRO bluetooth chronograph, it will be delivered on the 17th, I will use the Gamo magnum and my Hatsan 135qe .25 with all different weights of pellets and log them in a video. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
Field supply has the 30 cal carnivore for $227 right now. But I dont like just having 4 pellet choices.I have black synthetic hatsan just a mo old and its so nice.I got 25 cal and its like an elephant gun compared to 22s
If you want penetration, you need to use the same shape and weight of pellet. This is not an apple to apple comparison. I would suggest you get a Hatsan model 125 .22 cal. It will blow Gamo away.
Great video! Make some more videos on these rifles, try some heavier pellets in the .25, Id suggest the JSB 25 grains maybe that’ll even things out, comparing the 2

@@makerofmanythings8447 you have your self some very nice guns.i would like to have the 2nd black one on the table. That does not have the cutout for your hand.
Knowing full well that the 22 would have gone through the plywood at 10 ft. At just any weight pellet just about, you gave the 25 a disadvantage to show it’s true power. Going to pyramid-air’s website you have to middle of the road the weight of the pellets used by Caliber, not the actual weight of the pellet. So on pyramid-airs website the average weight of a 22 pellet shows at about 17 grams or a bit higher, but in 25 caliber it 25 grams per pellet average. You took inertia away from the 25 by using a very low weight of pellet. Not saying I wouldn’t want either of the those air rifles it’s just an observation. The 25 should go through the wood in a 25 gram. Or give a better showing. Thanks for your time.

@@makerofmanythings8447 I have several PCPs , Hatsan and GAMO springers. When shooting the diabolo pellets upwards of 800 FPS, heavier is the way to go. The lighter pellets have a tendency to cork screw in flight towards the target causing the groups to look bad. The FPS will drop as much as 200 FPS but the energy on target is worth it. The new slugs are amazing, just get the multiple size pack to see what your rifle shoots better. I find the .217 shoots well in my choked barrel PCPs. My GAMO Urban has a regular barrel and it not as fussy towards pellets or slugs. Happy shooting and thanks sharing your videos.
From what i`ve heard, the .177 version of gamo magnum, uses the exact same piston cylinder, the only difference is the barrel. So i wonder if you use the same grain pellet in 177, would you get same result? Or maybe better, since it would be slightly thinner and longer, thus more aerodynamic? Also maybe higher fps, since the same amount of air is pushed through a smaller barrel? I would love to see this tested out.
Pointed head pellets have more penetration at short distances. But the rounded head ones are more accurate at long distances. Very light pellets are not accurate and harmful for powerful air rifles.
What pressure do you have in the vortex pistong on the Hatsan 135...? It can vary quite a bit depending on what laws you have in your country. In mine (sweden) the limit for power on airguns is a measly 10J, but I hear that the Hatsan 135 Vortex is capabel of almost 40J in unrestricted version (as i Turkey where it's built...). But you can rise the pressure you're self with a PCP-pump or a compressor. The only problem with that in my country... is that the rifle is no longer license free, if you do that. I'm really considering buying a Hatsan 135qe vortex .25 cal (and do the necessary tuning myself...).
Thank you very much for watching and commenting, most people don't know the power of these new pellet rifles, they definitely aren't the Daisy rifles from there childhood..
The only downside to the Gamo magnum is the cocking force, it's horrendous. Other than that it's an AWESOME air rifle. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
Nobody takes into account sectional density. That's a very light for caliber pellet in the 25. It's also not a pointed pellet. With equal sectional density the outcome would be different.
LIKE! Enjoyed video!! Have always liked GAMO, like Hatsan, But! Disappointed in the results with 25 Kal.! Thanks for the incite! Been wanting a Hastan 30 Kal>? Not so sure? Semper FI!
Thank you for watching and commenting, The Hatsan 135qe .25 caliber has probably 2,300 shots on it. It was more powerful when it was new, I am going to take it out of the stock and check the psi of the ram, I have a pcp high pressure hand pump. I'm going to top off the rams pressure, a lot of people don't know that the Hatsan 135qe has a pressure fitting. I will do a before and after chronograph test to see the difference in one of my up coming videos, I will also show how to re- preasureise the ram piston. Thanks again for watching.👍😎👍

that gun with the right pellet will still retain a little over 7fpe at 100 yards. i calculated this based off the ballistic coefficient of a specific pellet and the muzzle velocity it was being shot at, from there you can get the fps at any distance and thus the fpe. in the case i did it drops from close to 1000fps at muzzle to about 476fps at target with that pellet, as i said ending on target with 7.2fpe @ 100yards. i'm not saying this is it's effective range, but you can definitely kill rabbit, squirrel and small birds from 100 if you had to.
to me this is the ultimate budget shtf gun, just keep an xtra gas piston on hand because anything else including ammo can be made or fixed easily on break barrels. usually the spring to but this is a gas piston spring so you'd need to replace it if ti ever failed. the only better airgun for shtf is a smaller packable pcp big bore but they are $1500+ to check all the boxes and you still need to have an airpump and they will leak so will need more spare maintenance parts still. i still think the gamo wins tbh. i'd need to customize a stock tho to make this somewhat packable without shortening barrel
all that said i have a chaser 22 rifle kit on back order imma try and make into a legit hpa/pcp packable carbine that has same fpe as this gammo. i'll need to use the 19" stormrider barrel or some other barrel i think to get there as i dont think the 17" one it comes with will quit make it
Thank you for showing this comparison. I was torn between the two. I now know which one I want.
Which one do you want ?

Wood expans when wet so it is gonna be harder to get thru. I actually shot a shovel handel in half with my magnum using 14.3gr hollow points. Took a while but I got it. Approximately 25-30yds
I just bought the Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Inertia Fed .22 Caliber 10-Shot Break Barrel air Rifle with Gamo 3-9x40 shockproof and fogproof scope on Amazon for $259 + tax! Can't wait to try it out!
i just ordered one for the same price - how do you like yours so far ?
Gammo is a smaller caliber than Hatsan so it’s most likely will have a deeper penetration. However, that does not mean the Gammo has a higher FPE. I’m pretty confident if you chronograph both rifles, Hatsan will have more FPE due to larger caliber and heavier grain.
You are absolutely right. I chronograph the Hatsan 135qe at 550 fps with a 33.95 gn JSB king heavy.
i got my swarm magnum (gen 1) just after they started the lockdown. i am still in love with its power and accuracy. i shoot dime-sized targets at 50+ yards.
FunGun!
@@philindeblanc i use the scope that came with my gen 1. it hasnt failed me yet. ive fired about 2000 rounds through it.
Yep, I got that Gamo Magnum. Bought when they 1 came out. It's a beast
@@davidschmidt4227 hmmm I'm strong enough to cock it standing up holding the butt-stock, but I guess after 30x cockings, I brace it to crotch/leg. Shooting depends how far. 50 yards are longer I use whatever near me as a brace to aim off of for stability.
Thanks for watching and commenting, I will try placing the butt of the rifle on my front outer thigh and try to cock it.
Thank you very much Verge you have a great day y'all here now
I love my gamo whisper swarm 10x shoots amazing right out the box great group too
I’d say use exceptionally heavy pellets for the .22 and exceptionally heavy pellets for the .25 because I feel like that’s what makes the difference is with a .25 you’re getting a slightly larger pellet along with more weight to rip through that target better great video btw 👍🏼👍🏼

I bought recently the 10x Gamo swarm whisper (right above the Magnum) because of how light it is and I been using the Gamo Rocket lead pellets with a hardened steel tip Pellet Weight (grain): 14.3 grain when I hit a Rock Chucks with those you hear it. Whap!
I own 16 air rifles of all calibers and I have never had any of them shoot a pointed pellet accurately.
My Gamo swarm magnum G2 .22 caliber loves them.
The Gamo swarm 10x magnum .22 caliber it pretty freaking nice. The quick shots are sweet.
@Matt V I like the Hatsan blitz, but I think I'm leaning more towards the Hatsan hercules bully in .30 caliber. I just don't want to waste pellets and air with an automatic. But I still need one though!!🤣🤣
@Matt V I just want something I can hunt a deer with if I have to. The Hatsan 30 Cal bully produces 115 pounds of energy.
@Matt V I live in Dallas County, Texas USA
@Matt V I have a pro chronograph XL coming in the mail it should be here on the 17th I plan on trying the Gamo swarm magnum .22 and the Hatsan 135 .25 caliber with all different weights in types of pellets at 20-40-50 and 60 yards to see what the energy is at the different distances on the targets.
Just a minor correction, cocking effort is 41lbs. The FPE is around 21fpe for the .177 and around 24-26 fpe for the .22. You have to go to a .25 or .30 for more fpe in a break barrel right now.
9:15 - "Gamo claims it has 41ft-lbs of muzzle energy"
around 26ft-lbs is more like it.
I've never heard of a spring piston air rifle delivering more than low 30's and only a handful of those.
The magnum isn’t a springer
It's almost like it was made for an adult or something
It is easy to tell you work for Gamo! Lol If you did a fair comparison between them both in the same caliber Hatson would be the clear winner.
I paid 312 1 1/2 years ago it is a great break barrel rifle with a 10 shot magazine definitely worth it
Pretty interesting video but in my experience lead pellets aren't really that great they tend to smush up and deform too much you need a high-grade alloy pellet something that's much stronger that will hold its shape better that alone you'll be surprised at how much more penetration you'll get
Just bought my second BB gun - the first being a ruger blackhawk 177, the second a magnum. I did so because I want my nephew to get his lead on with me.
I got the one shot loud .22 gammo max 😔 now I’m getting the .22 gammo magnum Gen 2. I like that’s so quiet compared to my other one.
Add first flyte. gamo lethel. h&n hornet. Gamo magnum. Premitius.. pallet for more power test.. thank you
I like to shoot mag Break Barrels to long distances, to 100 yards with my Gamo Mag .22.
I was going to go big for my first PCP, the FX .35cal Impact, but they never came out with it,---so I bought the Gamo.
@@EarthSurferUSA I am a fan of H&N pellets, I have pretty much all they have to offer in the .25 except the Hornets. Thanks for watching.

I previously owned a swarm magnum but the cocking effort was too much to get rapid fire out of it. I took the *slightly* decreased power and much less cocking effort of the swarm Maxxim instead. One day I may pick one back up
do you miss the power of the magnum? i have the maxxim and wondering how the magnum would be
@@Drive315youll get 200 fps more with the magnum
It was a interesting video. But I think it would been Fair comparison if you've been using H&N pellets for both guns as croman uses a harder alloy then the H&N their is a softer lead. Also you used a pointed pellet in the Gamo. Pellets should be the same shape/ type. If you made another video with that criteria I would watch it again.
Thats 41lbs of cocking force, man you werent ready for this video!!!! And true cocking force is about 60lbs.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting. I have some 35g. 25cal pellets, I will try it out and make a video on it.
Airguns quit dieseling after a dozen rounds or less.
@@stanpotter7764 some of the ones I own have dieseled all the way to break in, about 150 - 250 shots. But I know nothing about yours 😉👍
@@colecole3352 Ha haa! You picked picked a ballistics fight with the wrong dude, my man. I have Gamo Magnums in both .22 and .177. that gamo swarm looks nice and slick! it also offers that sweet feature to avoid having to add a pellet every shot, with that being said its hard to compare penetration to power when you talk about a .25 cal vs a .22cal smaller pellets will always travel faster... a .177 could have beaten them all but the heavier/larger the pellet the more punch it carries as well as a bigger diameter of damage. either way you have a beautiful collection. i just love how the wooden stock looks on that Hatsan

Great informative presentation. Thanks for posting.
You should test Gamo swarm 10x gen3i magnum.
35fpe I estimate?

.177 is too loud. It breaks the sound barrier every time.

My GAMO Urban has a regular barrel and it not as fussy towards pellets or slugs. Happy shooting and thanks sharing your videos.
@@dmann1209 I'll give it a try, I have some JSB heavy 33.95. I need to get some slugs. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍😎👍
Nice video, is the Gamo a air gun that would last a while, as some one said it is not a long lasting gun? Thanks
I'm liking this gun👍
From what i`ve heard, the .177 version of gamo magnum, uses the exact same piston cylinder, the only difference is the barrel. So i wonder if you use the same grain pellet in 177, would you get same result? Or maybe better, since it would be slightly thinner and longer, thus more aerodynamic? Also maybe higher fps, since the same amount of air is pushed through a smaller barrel? I would love to see this tested out.
I have the younger brother, Hatsan 95,really cool. Hatsan uses better materials than Gamo
For sure they do. Thanks for watching and commenting.

@@jesusrodriquez3917 Thank you very much for watching and commenting. I'll have some pellet chronograph test videos coming up soon.
How is the accuracy of your 95?
Thanks for info 😊
great video bro :D
I love this rifle and this video
Pointed head pellets have more penetration at short distances. But the rounded head ones are more accurate at long distances. Very light pellets are not accurate and harmful for powerful air rifles.
Try the HN Extreme pellets on the Magnum, and it eats plywood easy...@20yards!!. Yeah, crazy how the price on the Mag has gone up.
h&n makes a 21 grain 22 cal pellet
Yes after tuning u can see UA-cam hatsan 135 .25 tuning. Up to 49/50 joule. Here netherlands we have no limit for power
Oh yeha buddy she will do the job
Thank you very much for watching and commenting, most people don't know the power of these new pellet rifles, they definitely aren't the Daisy rifles from there childhood..
Awesome video now I know witch air gun I’m going to get ...gamo
The only downside to the Gamo magnum is the cocking force, it's horrendous. Other than that it's an AWESOME air rifle. Thank you very much for watching and commenting.
Gamo swarm magnum .22 caliber ❤
Can you change the spring for a more kick?
Nobody takes into account sectional density. That's a very light for caliber pellet in the 25. It's also not a pointed pellet. With equal sectional density the outcome would be different.
Can you do the Popcaan test with the Hudson 135 ?
Hello, which one you recommend for squirrel hunting between the 2 GAMO? I kind a like the GAMO but the shorter one.
Remember it's the energy at target. .25 is way more than .22. Penetration will be more for .2w cuz it's faster.
Why didn't you shoot the cans with the 25
