Assalamualaikum!(Peace be with you)
In this video Nouman Ali Khan talks about how to lower your gaze properly, not becoming too extreme where your always looking towards the ground & develop a hunch back but to instead lower some of your vision and also have confident body language. Lowering your gaze also means to not stare and gawk at people.
Lowering your gaze doesn't only apply when looking at women but in general the way you look shouldn't be very intimidating and should be using a soft eye.
Lowering your gaze also helps you to resist sexual temptations and ensures your heart is pure, a heart which is on the straight path can shed more tears for Allah then a heart who is diseased with sexual images. So be careful & always be alert!
The eye is the road into the heart.

I realized it's one of the main reasons why I never finished college anywhere. Shamelessness among the Muslim youth is everywhere, it affects us and may kill our deen. I realized Allah was just protecting me from greater harm. Who cares if I don't graduate at any college. The colleges made me participate in shameless activities with non mahram women anyway such as dancing together, singing duets, acting from short dramas without lowering the gaze, etc.
Lucky u it's easy for me cuz I'm in a trash country lol

But guess what? Even while being astray, I was successfully able to find it easy to avoid looking at other girls outside. Now if I can do that, I am sure most other men can do it as well. It's only a matter of whose dedication towards Allah (God) is greater and whose resistance to evil whispers is higher among others. Also, having good friends is important who advise good to you. A lot of people make the blunder of keeping companies who smoke a lot and advise others bad

Shyness kinda helps but it'd make "lowering the gaze" in the wrong & a bit rude way when a female stranger with quite a dressing & look which i unintentionally saw from afar before, said something to me and i didn't even look on the face & say anything back. Thanks for the tips.

And say to the female believers to cast down their be holdings, and preserve their private parts, and not display their adornment except such as is outward, and let them fix closely their veils over their bosoms, and not display their adornment except to their husbands [Quran:24:31]

@@arcane1282 In that verse, observe the word "reduce". The verse does not forbid the women to not look at men but instead, it tells women to lower their gaze aswell and to not display adornment. There is a big difference between reduce and forbid.

I once talked to a sister who was discouraged because men kept their gaze away from here, which kind of baffled me, so, after explaining the whole point of it to her I indirectly asked what was wrong with it.
She went onto say it wouldn’t work in a western sociatal world and that it’s “unprofessional” and that men should just learn to control their desire and thought. Even though I tried explaining that us men’s brains work entirely differently, I’m pretty sure she just refused to listen and repeated her point.
So what if it’s “weird” in the western society? So what if it seems “unprofessional”? Western soceity isn’t great at everything or carries the best morals either. And I get that most women have been made oblivious to the man’s desire, so I don’t ask them to get it but to at least understand that desire of women for us is very strong and keeping the gaze down is a way of coping with that (gaze down goes for women too as well).
Good comment. I have seen a lot of people and a Muslim brothers who keep their gazes low is just obvious and to be honest it actually looks very professional. Straight to the point and right away iut of it. No mumbling around or no awkward "approval" moments. On the other hand you notice how strangers start to like each other and get all flirty and stuff when they don't keep their eyes down. In fact nowadays the feminist infested countries are too strickt on man that they say somebody's look was too sexual. So if a person keeps acting according to Islam he will insha Allah be safe in both moments.

Anyway - I've learnt that this is true for majority of us men - it's still very much a global thing my fellow brother. Some men are just good at hiding it and others just don't feel it as strongly.

I know wearing immodest clothes is haram in Islam FOR BOTH GENDERS MEANING MEN ARE ALSO NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR SHORTS AND TANK TOPS WHEN THEY GO OUT, COVERING AURAHS IS FOR BOTH GENDERS IN ISLAM. in surah e Noor, Allah first ordered men to lower their gazes when they see a non mehram, after that Allah ordered women to lower their gazes when they see non mehram so basically Allah ordered first men and then women. Secondly there's a strong where Hazrat Muhammad s.a.w and one of his companions went out and they noticed a beautiful woman coming towards them, Prophet s.a.w noticed his companion staring at the woman, so he told his companion to look the other way, he didn't say anything to the woman so please next time instead of calling someone immoral or bad, look at your own deeds. Pray to Allah for yourself and then for the following woman that He guides her and helps you control your gaze. Thank you brother
