What kind of headlights do you have? Would they fit my 2012 vw passat?
I have Helix Mk7 GTI style headlights. They are designed for Mk6 Jetta’s. I don’t believe they will fit on a Passat. I’m sure you can find similar style headlights for Passat online.
I want to know how long before the headlight was filled with water moisture? Because that is what happens if you left the back cover off with led bulbs
Zero moisture because the inner housing is still sealed by the bulbs.

When i was in high school, i had a 2001 jetta mk4. I literally spent every dime i could get my hands on, on upgrading it. Now i have a much more modest 2012, but watching your videos and seeing your mk6 gives me the fever to clean out my bank account like i did when i was 16 lol. Awesome ride man. I love it.

Quite interesting how you did not have a metal retainer on your led bulb. I have a '17 vs jetta s tsi.
Probably because I have aftermarket headlights that use D2S bulbs

Did it give you any warning lights? How hard was the install?
It’s as easy as replacing a bulb. Some VW’s get warning lights. If you do, you just need a warning canceller. They’re like $15.

i did. that was the wrong account i was on. i've been doing a lot more cosmetic stuff to my mk6 because of you and it's starting to look really nice. i just have a few scratches and i don't know if i should use touch up paint and fix it or wrap the ca a different color.
+Soneil Persaud I would say you would be better off wrapping it or having a professional touch up the scratches. I used touch up paint in the past and it's very noticeable. To me it's just as bad as the scratch.

With the LED I know led bulbs come with their own wiring so does that basically replace the need for the ballast with those headlights?
Yes. I have LED lights bulbs now and it’s a lot less wiring.

Probably a dumb question but, do those two bulbs having one on each side do both low beam and high beam? Or do you have a separate bulb for high beam? Can’t tell if the outer light of those headlights is a separate compartment or not for high beam
The Bi-xenon bulbs and the LED bulbs work as high and low beam. Just check the description when purchasing to ensure that the bulbs you buy work as both hi and lo.

Did you need the warning cancellor because of the actual LED bulb or the headlights assembly you used because it’s a bi xenon and not just a projector and high beam?
+Calvin Anderson III I needed it for the Bi-xenon bulbs. I now have led bulbs and don’t need it.

Yes, just make sure you choose the H7 bulbs if you have stock headlights.
Nice vid and I like the modifications you've made!! I recently got a 2018 GLI which uses halogen bulbs. I'm on a budget and would like to replace the headlight bulb with LED one's. Is it as simple as just swapping out the bulbs, or would I need to buy a kit? Not sure what to research as this is my first time doing something like this. Mind dispensing some wisdom to us novices? Thanks.
Hey man, thanks for watching my vids. If you’re keeping the stock headlights it’s as easy as changing a light bulb if you want LED bulbs. All you need to do is get H7 style bulbs and they are factory replacements. I believe I have a link in the description. Happy modding 👍🏼
Hi, I also have a GLI, I tried led bulbs and my headlights filled with water in the winter. LEDs don't heat up the inside of housing enough to evaporate condensation, this isn't a knock, just a question, did yours fog over? I have ended up getting a different set of headlights, Viland, Audi style sequential turn and installed 5000k hid, I gave up on LEDs on this car
That just means the headlights weren’t sealed proper. Mine never fog over, not even in snow.
Do those come with leveling motors. I recently just purchased these lights

LED bulbs in projector housing. Is that working well for you or does it blind drivers?
They are working well. Unfortunately, they are slightly less bright than the HID bulbs that I used to have. I don't get the same pleasure of blinding other drivers as I used to haha

nice! ahh i can't enter lmao i don't use Snapchat/Instagram =P.. plz stay with HIDs man! in a test for actual usefulness HIDs far outweigh LEDs although LEDs do sometimes "look nicer"
+Roger H I used to agree with that. Ive had them in for about a week now and still enjoy them. I don't notice a brightness difference from the BiXenon bulbs. I really like how clean they are under my hood. I'm going to do a 1 month review in the future.
Can you use this same kit for both High and Low beams? I believe both are H7 right?
+JimmyDean1992 I have the D2S bulbs in my headlights and the work for low and high beam. I believe the H7 is the same.
I see that there is a silver housing when pulling the original H7 bulb off if you would call it that... It looks like it will unclip off? After that I can slide the connector for the D2S bulbs on?
+JimmyDean1992 I don’t have the stock headlights. My headlights require D2s. If you have the stock headlights you need the H7 bulbs. The silver box that I took out was for my bi-xenon conversion kit that I previously installed.
Oh no haha. I know that was the ballast. It was in another video that I saw the silver unit over the H7 connection.. However.. When I do upgrade my headlights I will deff get these! I was bummed out about the whole blinker issue. So now that you dont need the ballast, you dont need to cut into the headlight cover right? Or you still need the ballast.. It is just in a better position?
