That my friends, is what a REAL Supergroup sounds like. Unbelievable.... every single note!.
Never thought to use the term Supergroup for them but I think I’ll start now
Yeah but no great songs.🤣
@@matthazelby506 Ahhh man, There are tons of great tunes! Electric drill song!!!... Alive and kicking', Green tinted, merciless, Strike like lightning, Shadows, Big love..Take a walk.. and that's not even mentioning their biggest hit.. To be with you, which is a beautifully written/crafted tune. If your not a fan that's cool.... But every member is a master of their craft... Its just class. And that's not an accident But cool... I guess if you're here at least you are aware they are also ALL virtuoso's on their respective instruments... Im now just hoping you were joking! ;)
グレイト!
@@Warum.2439 Billy was on DLR band before so Mr Big it is a supergroup
Billy Sheehan does things on a bass you never thought possible. Just ridiculous. The work put into his craft is legendary.
Yes it is! Billy is/was an awesome person! Had the pleasure of Knowing him in the late 70's/early 80's. excellent people!!!
Pat Torpey was an absolute MONSTER on the drums!
He is the Steve Vai, from a guitar bass!!
I used to see him in Talas all the time. I'd get right up in front of him and just watch.
he is a magician.
RIP Pat Torpey, gone but not forgotten!
Pat is so awesome. I met him when he was playing with The Knack a few years ago. Great guy
A severely underrated drummer. RIP old friend.
RIP
Pull offs, hammer on’s and crazy string acrobatics. But can we take a second to appreciate the batshit crazy 32nd notes Pat is playing on the hi hats back there? He is an astonishing drummer.
You're absolutely right! That is really crazy, especially around 6:56. Have no idea how it is even possible.
Yep!
Some fantastic playing largely lost on almost everybody!!!!!! Vastly underrated drummer. Vale Pat
@@tassuperkart Not underrated at all. Highly rated in my Official Drummer’s Rating Encyclopedia.
This whole band was extremely underrated. Wish they'd play them on XM Hair Nation.
@@metalheadrelic9873 What rating system or encyclopedia are you currently using?
I just remember being back stage alone with Billy and his gf they said hello before I could say hello? so down to earth, just nice people, And I was a nobody! True story!
Pat Torpey was a monster on the drums! RIP.
yep, absolutley underrated...
everyones but eyes on billy and paul but he is out of this world...
The Torp!
This fuckin' bassist/guitarist never missed even a single fret... I love it...
Greatest bassist on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Billy!!!!!!
Billy is the rock bass god. Period.
Billy Sheehan In my opinion is the best Bass Player in the world!
Legend says that Paul and Billy are still addicted to jamming together up until today
Man, I've never seen anyone with such amazing accuracy flicking their hair.
Decent bass player too.
DECENT!?!?!?!
@@therandom_dude..... Joke!
ほんとに大好き。おれにはこの映像が精神安定剤なんだ
I don't see many base solos. But BEST base solo I've ever seen. Incredible skill and creativity.
These guys are the Masters a fretboard gymnastics unbelievable
Billy was probably the first bass player that blew my tiny little mind as a young lad.. him and Steve Vai was an awesome combo.. Absolutely brilliant performance from all of them..
YASSSSSSS!!!! 👍❤️
I grew up with him in Talas.
Let's take a moment to remember Pat.
You may be gone but we'll always cherish the gifts you gave us
The talent level of this band is off the charts.
Pat Torpey's hi-hat is an underestimated winner of this battle!
Torpey was a hi-hat and snare master. None can replicate the feel and sound of his playing.
I'm damn near 56 and still addicted to that Rush!!!
Damn I thought you were Mark Kelly of Marillion😅😆
Oh god.. why am i still living when i'm not even alive back in the 90's to see mr big's live performance 😔
They all God!
2022 still enjoy it 🤘
How underrated a drummer was the late Pat Torpey? He had to be able to keep up with Sheehan AND Gilbert!
World class performance by professor's of music
👍
True story
Band with best skills player
The world needs a lot more of this!
Probably the best band i ever saw live...just incredible musicians.
He is the Eddie Van Halen of bass!!!!! JUST AMAZING IN EVERY WAY!!!!!!!
@@rubytuesday4379 While EVH is great, He's NOT Even Close to STANLEY JORDAN 🤗
True! :)
They're both amazing! Wish we got to see them collaborate on something. Van Halen with Billy Sheehan would've been outta this world.
@@williamallen7386 Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey performed with Eddie Van Halen....
He the Billy Shehan of bass bro.
On top of all the musical talent, Pat, Billy, AND Paul are all good singers.... insane.
Greatest band on the planet
He may not be your type of player but you must respect the passion and amount of time the man puts into his craft. To this day he says he still practice hours a day.
Pat's drums sound amazing here. Killer band.
Aside from the musical pyrotechnics, (phenomenal!), I just can't believe how freakin' TIGHT this band is! Every single one, a superstar! But, the sum is greater than the parts.
The 80's metal bands were a dime a dozen when metal went mainstream. You had all sorts off mashups. Hell even Bad Company pulled in a new lead singer and had a few hits. But man oh man. Do I remember Mr. Big. When their debut album came out and I heard Addicted To That Rush, I was hooked. The whole album is fire. I love their version of 30 Days In The Hole. And the album Lean Into It is pure gold. Hell I proposed to my wife while listening to, To Be With You. It's our song. This band was a true Supergroup. Love them. And RIP to the one and only Pat Torpey.
Dude, I flew from Alaska to orange California for a guitar lesson with Paul Gilbert. Walked 5 miles hauling my guitar. Had a copy of Lean into it with me, had him sign for my girlfriend "hold on little girl". We've broken up since but she still has it. She has another copy, the first cd she ever owned given to her by her father. Coincidently enough when i started playing guitar my father showed me that album and told me he wanted me to play those songs for his birthday. My father also revealed why, we used to sing "to be with you" at the kitchen table when i was a toddler. I have a vague memory of it, but it all came flooding back. These guys are a huge part of my life. And yes, RIP Pat Torpey
@@AkSamurai69 That's awesome, my friend. To have memories like that makes it all worth it. Thank you for sharing that with me.
@@jandvadams yeah my friend, it was a great time. Walking in the rain. The one time i go to orange it rains the whole time -.- anyway pg is SO humble and so cool. At the time i was soft spoken, and wasn't thinking about his hearing loss. I started asking him a question and instead of asking me to speak up, he leanded in and cupped his ear. I was shocked. A rock god, my favorite of all time, is accommodating ME. And no, he wasn't being facetious
@@AkSamurai69 I had the opportunity to see them here in Baltimore back when Lean Into It came out. Hands down one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Never had the chance to meet Paul. But I hear he's a real humble guy and loves to talk to his fans. That's so cool you got to meet him.
@@jandvadams yeah he's super humble and i wish i could have seen mr big play live. They are awesome. Friend of mine went to the music institute, and now teaches there. But when he was a student he saw PG. Went up to him and explained back home he had a friend that was a super fan. He sent me a an autograph and an orignal PG drawing. Thanks Frank!
One word: *WoW!*
when i was 18 years old, their first MTV's hit song 'to be with you' was released...since then,i was one of their biggest fan...
@Snap your fingers snap your neck maybe you are right
Okay so imagine one of the best bass players of all time and one of the best guitar players of all time in the same band. Oh wait.
And Billy got to do it again with DLR/Steve Vai.
And one of the best drummers in rock! And Eric Martin is one amazing vocalist too!
Don't forget the absolute legend, Pat Torpey!
The part I don't get is how did To Be With You get to be their top song with all the talent and innovation of those two guys?
@@ricksorber9562 Sappy Pop songs sell... I'll never forget talking to a friend of mine that that was the only song he had heard from them.he called them that "wimpy band" I laughed out loud at him,lol I said "Listen to 'Addicted to That Rush' then come see me "
Saw them open for Rush. I think it was on Roll the Bones tour. They were amazing just like in this video. Power house musicians. Can’t help but smile watching that bass solo. Just incredible.
Saw them when opened for Rush on the Presto tour too!
Rush must ave whyyyy did we let them open 4uS
@@Dan-yq8lf same it was at the forum but what I remember of Mr Big was paul and that I wanted them to get off the stage so RUSH would get up there and get that show started
Saw that same tour in Denver. I believe it was Presto.
@@patton303 Yes you might be right! I went to so many Rush concerts back then they kind of blend together! Pat Torpey was a MOSTER DRUMMER! So glad I got to hear him play live!
Billy Sheehan is a bass prodigy
Addicted to that rush is like 70% Bass
Prodigy is the name for a child savante. The term U need is VIRTUOSO for an accomplished adult musician.😉
Absolutely
most of the first album....
Billy Sheehan is awesome, one of the best bassists in the world. Video gave me chills seeing Pat Torpey, such an incredible drummer. Mr. Big is one of my favorites. RIP Pat, you are missed!
Billy "the shredder" Sheehan.. amazing!!!
I’ve played bass for 38 years, all can sat to this is WOW
I JUST saw Billy Sheehan last week (3/13/23)! With the Winery Dogs. He's 69 years old now..but still plays amazing!!
Incredible. Just incredible. Awesome musicians. Amazing band. Great songs. Lightning in a bottle!
This may sound ironic, but although I don't like Billy Sheehan's style, he introduced me to the bass guitar. So my eternal thanks go to him for showing me the most powerful instrument of rock 🤘
Just saw Mr. Big @The Keswick Theater Friday night!! Farewell Tour. ❤️ Got to meet some of the band afterwards with my boyfriend, who also plays bass. Long story made short.... Billy is really a fantastic guy. Very kind and accommodating. 🥰 And so is Eric... he's so funny.
Enjoy the rest of your tour guys!
☮️❤️🎶
We gotta notice Billy is such a god‼️‼️😲😀🙆🙋🙌✌️👍💃😃
Mr.BIG "Perfect band"
One of the hardest working bassist. Does this effortlessly.
nobody understood how skilled Billy was on bass But it gets overshadowed with that 1 song Mr. Big put out.
My sister bought me this on VHS when it came out, obvious pre internet, this was back in the days when we had parties just to watch a video like this
I can't see the problem with that in these days either 🤷♂️
They were good days in terms of appreciating things. Everything is so immediate now.
I have a shelf full of concert and instructional DVDs.
Some converted from VHS.
We did that as well.
After rehearsal, we'd all pile in my living room and crank the sound system up and watch.
Fun times
Good ol' days
30 years later and still amazeballs!
Excuse the slappers, but this is the best bass solo I've ever seen. I never tire of looking at it.
I absolutely love these guys!
I've watched this like 10 times. Amazing musicians.
Thank God you guys uploaded the HD version. One of the best live performances

Rock is still the sound of freedom and rebellious attitude and it does not matter what generation. I am 27 and it was my music when I was 17 and I have a guy in the neighbourhood who blasts Hair Metal, 80's British Hevy Metal and The Who and Rolling Stones songs and that makes me hapoy
What a great band is Mr. Big! Always my favorite band!
Amazing
Thank You! Billy Sheehan awesome!! I/we knew each other back in the 1970's...Rolling Stone records in Norridge,Il (Chicago) Rock on Billy 3-Humps!!!
*Mr. Big* ❤️❤️❤️
I've been playing bass for 30+ years. Billy has always been in my top 5 bass players list. For more Kool bass stuff, Billy also played on David Lee Roth''s solo album.
Another band of prodigies, with many soulful songs. Unique!
本当にありがとうMR.BIG!
This is so kick ass !
The best duo in Rock. Gilbert and Sheehan
Perfect perform....amazing play
Damn...the video quality like they just recorded yesterday
Que tiempos aquellos, grandes músicos, grandes compositores, grandes artistas.
In '92 there was no UA-cam or internet video, really. This sort of performance would have been on some hard-to-find VHS or, if we were lucky, on MTV. Even being there live I would have been in the nosebleed section. It really is something special to be able to see this sort or performance whenever I want now.
What a band they were!!! And what muscians!!! Great!!!
Amazing!
Awesome! I remember when the VHS of this came out.
Billy is the best bassist on the planet
Holly fkn mama... Pat, holy fkn mama... what a band!
All perfect 👍👍
Thank You. It's awesome 💝
