This is the most comprehensive farming video on youtube. As a follow up, you might want to make a Part 2 of it where you give examples of different heroes and how to farm most efficiently across heroes with different abilities: 1. Split Shot heroes (Medusa, Gyro) 2. AOE DPS Damage (Viper, Alchemist) 3. Splash Damage Heroes (Sven, Kunnka, PA) Also, would be nice if the guide helps for both Dire and Radiant.
Idc what few people say that you seemingly just repeat the same things over and over again, farming patterns, get good at cs yada yada. You're not a broken record and these are crisp and fundamentals focused guides for us dedicated carry players. If not for your vids I wouldn't be able to hang in my Divine bracket at all. Many thanks, Pain! 👍
When was in March this year, I was crusader then get to ancients in three months with paindota pos1 guide, and now Divine. Every pos1 player should watch Paindota guide.
one thig you did well was imaginign the concept from a ewer player or lower skilled players cuz the questions you asked was exactly what we always asked ourselves during the game, where should I be right now? is this place safe to farm? do I have a tp? should I join? if so when is the best time for it? what camps should I take? how do I see myself in a minute for example? and one thig that helped me a lot was imagining the enemy heroes once they want to gank you, how would they do it? what abilities are deadly and should be highly aware of ad what targets are easier to kill? these questions have to be constantly in your mind all the time while looking at multiple things and managing your timing. game can be difficult at times but it's so fucking rewarding that the learning process makes it even more fun. thanks a lot for making this content appreciate it a lot.
This is an incredibly good guide. I'm a support player so farming is otherworldly to me. I know a few things about farming but you're introducing a lot more conscepts that I haven't quite thought of before
This video is pretty great at explaining how to think and not just mindlessly replicating a farming pattern. One comment not about the content of the video but I'd say some of the random audio mis-edits were a little jarring to me (I'm just hyper aware of shit like that). There were a couple of times where the audio edit cut out right before your voice finished making noise and then cut in to another sentence right after you started speaking so the audio sounded like it popped. Also there was once where a word or two were cut out completely. These were few and far between but still around and could help add another level of polish to your videos.
I love this kind of content. I hope you keep it up! Can you so pos2 next? Balancing farm and rotations, making impactful plays, timings, map reads, etc…
My advice as a 9k mmr player is to just watch the time. Know when to go to the lane creeps and know when to stack camps, yes as a farmer one of the best things you can do is stack for yourself
This is very cool and informative than you. One problem I face in 3-4K games is after a hard lane and I'm playing to simply recover, my team sometimes is not strong or playing together well enough to deal with pressure on the other side of the map from me. lets say its 15-20 mins, I am behind but farming agressively and efficiently on the safelane, but the enemy team is ignoring me and winning 4v4 or 5v4 fights in areas around our triangle. After these fights there are 3-4 enemy heroes alive, their carry is farming efficiently/getting gold from kills, my offlane and mid tier 2 will fall + my tier 3s are pressured while I am merely taking a tier 2, and I dont have enough items to be taking fights. They kill my towers as a team faster than I kill theirs alone so have no incentive to address split push, my team is falling apart and not able to force them backwards, and I either die or get stuck in my base if I join, or flamed if I don't. it seems the best case scenario here is tilt my teammates and maybe take a tier 2, and lose if the enemy chooses to not react to me. The only other option is dont lose lanes in the first place but that is not adequate advcie. It works the other way too, if you are a carry that doesnt mind participating in early fights and your lanes went well, you can group near the enemy tier 2, force them to take 4v5s there while they are weak and snowball the game while ignoring the carry. Games that play out this way feel amazing.
Great video. I only play support, but this helps me put into words what my carries are generally looking for. I had a sense of it this vid makes it super clear. Thank you!
Man, I am not too much into commenting in dota2 videos, but your videos are EXTREMELY helpful. After watching your video about how th play the map as a carry, I understood exactly why I got a 9 winstreak on gyro (despite of it being broken). This video is also a masterpiece, extremely helpful! Already sent some of your videos to my dota friends and gonna send this one as well =) Very nice job
Hello bro nice vid btw plss give us guide how to pic properly for your team or to counter in picking stage tnx Or focus on the meta hero even their support is already good against the hero u want to pic
This guide literally solved all my questions except two. If you help with this, it will help me (& maybe others) immensely. I solo que in unranked games 90% of the times & have ~3000 MMR. I am safe lane carry. Questions - 1. Consider that I am playing a carry like drow or antimage & I am safe lane. Now there is offlane necrophos + veno or windranger + CM or jakiro + slardar or CK + ogre in front of me. They beat the shit out of me even by tower diving (most of them). I die 2 or 3 times early game. And my item timing messes up badly like power treads in 8 to 9 minutes, darn :( If you leave lane early, you cant farm NC on these heroes because even the small camp brings down the hero HP to half. We can't afford to spend 1 healing slave for 1 small or medium camp. No rotations from supports or ganks by mid hero can be expected in unranked pub games. If I ask to switch lanes, I am mostly denied. How to look at this situation & farm safely & faster in such case? Is my hero drafting wrong? I still manage 500 gpm in a games I lose or 700+ gpm in games won (& around 350+ last hits on average). 2. I see the carries like PA, LC, CK or troll getting picked mostly. The CK & LC literally tower dives at lvl 6 & my team mates lose the lane to them several times in row as I mentioned. The enemy carry gets fat fast & we lose the game. The games that I play (even ranked) are always almost a stomp, either by me or enemy stomps my team. Rarely I see a game with both sides fighting hard. Can I say that this is just my badluck? How to deal with noobs in team? I know these are just bad games. But 13-14 times in row? How? KDA speaks how a player played. If you are dying & achieving nothing (several times), it's just feeding the enemy. Many players don't understand when to take fights, going for objectives or when to be where on the map, lane equilibrium, single pulling, crowd control matchups etc. Tired of games with 0/10 BS having 9k networh after 30 mins in team. Should I ignore these games & call it a badluck? Sorry for a long read. Really hopeful to get answers. You rock ❤️💯
an easy tip I have is, farm as fast as you can and as safe as you can till you have your fighting item for examble pa bf bkb, gyro crystallis agh bkb, or naga manta orchid. once you have these items farm near a teammate and join the fight when it happens, at this point never farm alone and always pressure an objective
Thanks a lot for the videos man, really helpful! I am a support myself, but great to know and guide the carry. But overall good to know the concepts. I would really really apreciate a hard support guide. Keep up the good work! Also, if you have a patreon where to donate let me know! 🙌
i wonder are the special regen zones like well not worth mentioning in farming patterns? I think radiants mana regen area is good to farm for heros that need to use their spells more while farming. I guess you can always just get claritys.
Just played 3 games, hit last hit goals of 60/150/200 at 10,15,20minutes, farmed and plateyed like guide, but only won game. Other 2 enemy carry and mid was beyond godlike at 20mins and stomping all of us. Other game just kept getting kited even with items like bkb and top networth in fights. What am I supposed to do to win those ones?
Thank you for the detailed video, but can u please make a vid on heroes with controlled units like lone druid, as it sometimes is difficult to farm better even when team creates sufficient space. Thank you.
I'll start off by saying this is a very good guide as dota 2 guides go , however I peaked at 7k mmr on EU , coached a bit aswell. One thing thats hard to convey to people is how situational dota 2 is. Which is when i stop liking dota 2 guides. Alot of what PainDota said in this video is both right and wrong. If you're playing a solo lobby game without anyone in it , people can draw you a pattern of how to maximize your farm but that is not the case in dota 2 considering you're not playing alone in a lobby. For people in the lower mmr brackets (below 5,5k) farming patterns are not as important as they seem (not that they're not important) , its just one of the parts of the game. Heroes like sven and gyro are in meta because dota 2 added alot more camps into the map and these 2 heroes have built in farming mechanism , unlike most other heroes in the game. I'd say its more important for people below 5,5k to learn when to take fights , what items to buy , matchups etc. You'll see more mmr growth this way , dont focus too much on farming patterns, they change each game and each patch, focus on concepts and whys
I wasn't expecting much cause the name of the video is kind of clickbaity. I decided to fall for the clickbait but saved it in watch later and procastinated watching it as fuck... Now that I have I'm subbing. Really good.
its not working at all. enemy ganks me behind t1 and behind t2 safelane towers and my team stays afk every single time. carry role is pointless without party
Seems like i only win games when i stomp my lane and farm enemy triangle so i took away farm from enemy, on other games when i lose my lane is difficult to do anything cos team loses 4 vs 5 on enemy safelane when i farm my back jungle, so team blames everything on me, cos their carry was there and i wasnt, but problem is that its so hard to win a lane when big camp is open so i started buying my own sentries to block that, pos 5 are all token people, pos 4 are all future titan players seems like
Thank you for that guide, but the problem is when you're just starting, people are all over the map and griefing HAHAHAHA you can't do nothing with those people
Its a good help, but in most of my games my camps are always stolen. I have 0 vision and the enemy finds me farming "safely" This made me play suport more to ensure this won't happen to others but even then its a 50/50 chance I won't get complete idiots.
At my rank, my carry would jungle when he is already 5 slotted and 3 enemy died. Game is never even either I get a good carry who knows when and where to fight or a total trash like 28min battlefury kinda guy😂
As a active midlanner . Who like to f enemy carry mental . I hate this video 😂 If the carry not sad and having nice talk about his teammate family , im not having fun .
Best dota content so far, but the main problem is that 90% of people who watched this video will go and play dota and do everything u say but opposite ahahaah. I dont understand people who waste their time watching dota videos such as this and than start the game and do completely different…. 11 years of playin and u r guardian or crusader… hooow u manage to be that bad? After watching the whole video, I still don't know how to farm potatoes
Hahahaha wrong channel dude
