    Quick cast shows the targeting system if you use the 'on release option' instead of casting on button press. That's what I use so that I can be sure my spells are targeted correctly while eleminating the extra click.

    LMAO I totally feel you on people getting weirdly triggered when you tell them your camera settings. I can't stand having to throw my cursor to the corner of the screen just to pan the camera. I've used WASD ever since I started playing RTS games back in the day.
    Thanks for the awesome catch-up video. I haven't played Dota since Pit Lord/Underlord dropped in 2016, and I'm looking to get back into it with some friends soon. This helped tons!

      I played RTS games since I was six and always trash my friends when we play against each other (I am not a pro or anything, just an rts enthusiast) but they all always get so confused when they hear I use the mouse to the corner method to pan. They do not understand (which is fair, it just works for me).

    Actually, I'm currently learning English and i was advised that the best way to learn it better, find out a lot new and interesting words and just be better at it - is to watch what you are interested in. I've been playing Dota 2 more than 3-4 years and i have 3500+ hours in this game.
    And i have only 3550 MMR now. It's too hard to up yours MMR just playing solo.
    Watching your video i'm improving my listening, because I'm not native speaker and I'm learning English at the present time. You've told so much useful stuff in this video, I'm shocked how i know so much and even happy that i'm not a new player😅

    just got back into dota and realize it has the sticky key option that league has for quick casting
    In advanced settings you can set quick cast to cast on release, it allows you to aim before you release it. This makes a lot of things smoother in this game coming back
    Sadly using any quick cast option removes your double click option

    Im trying to learn Dota right now and its a struggle for me. Thankfully, the tutorial system is the best ive ever seen in a MOBA by far. It tries it's hardest to teach me everything I can, but I still have some struggles here and there. Also, the community after telling them I'm new understand how it is, but my friend whos starting out like me has had a bad time with sweats on his team telling him he needs to play with bots before playing the actual game.
    Thank you for the video tho!
    Also, should i consider finding a mentor for this game? Ive heard they are all pretty nice people and a good investment on learning the game

      @@vibetribe52 i think hes talking about other stuff than pointing and clicking. But you also have to understand FPS players don't think in the same way that rts players would when moving in the plane of space in mobas. Its like sprite and wine. They are only similar because they are both drinks, but its obviously much much more different of a liquid, sometimes its carbonated.
      But expecting a cod player to look at all of the information on screen, + this awkward and ancient style of moving characters around isn't as simple to pay attention to, learn, and be comfortable. is like asking a dolphin to study lava samples in a volcano.

    Audio is fine. The proper way to set levels is using the db meter and adjust it so that it rarely goes into the red but stays close to it as possible.
    Some people ignorantly set their mic levels based on what they hear, and that is 100% wrong and amateur.
    Incidentally, remember when broadcast TV played that "tone" when they began or went offline? That tone was there for broadcasters to properly set audio levels in the studio.

    I was looking for a Beginners Guide for Dota 2 since I'm about to play the game again after maybe.... 4-5-6 years... I forgot exactly how many. And I was looking for a video to "refresh" the knowledge I had about the game, and to hear more about what was added and what I should look for.
    At first, the video was quite underwhelming... In my opinion, the whole... Game Mode and Options/Keybindings part was poorly presented. I know that when I first opened the game I was extremely confused by the "All Pick" term, like.... what even is that. And I feel like this video didn't really present them either. Like... what each of them mean and how they affect you. If your ultimate goal is to play Ranked, then what should you play to get better? Is Ranked a variation of All Pick? Or Turbo? What's the "classic" Dota 2 game mode? I know that it wasn't just me having this issue. I started playing with my high school friends and we all had the same issue. "What should we play?" "Idk....". So we just went for Bots. Then about the settings part, it was very messy, or that's how I found it. If I was a new player, I would want to learn about the game, not the settings first(I know, this is personal opinion, doesn't matter). But even so, I found the way you presented them to be a bit messy. I didn't really understand much from what you were explaining, but I knew the settings, so I was fine. I mean, I hate it when somebody says... "Make shortcut for Denies, but I'll tell you later what that is". If you are gonna tell me later what that is, then tell me to do the keybind later when I know what that is. How am I supposed to know how much I'll use that shortcut, so I can assign it properly.
    I felt like the section "What's on the Map" was the best one presented. Also because it's what I was mainly looking for, though... The towers in the jungle... Aren't they supposed to give you EXP if you take them? I think you didn't mention this. Or maybe they changed it.
    The "Which hero should I play" felt like it didn't give me much information. I wished you would take all roles, explain what they are and what they do, what people expect that role to do, and give a few examples of heroes to play in that role. I wouldn't have minded a 1h long video for this.
    But I will keep checking your channel, maybe you have all those added as well, but in another video "Advanced Guide for Beginners in Dota 2", something like that.
    Thanks for the video! I felt like it was a pretty decent guide, and the players that wanted to learn about Dota could have gotten a lot of good info from this video!

    I used to play dota/dota2 a lot back in 2010-2018. I was hella young back then around 14 and now i’m 22 and i don’t get this game anymore. Like i know i need to deny creeps and do last hits, but there’s this tier things now and the map revamp too. I’m so confused bro like i keep apologizing to my teammates 😅..

    Because Of League Of Legends will have vanguard, It creates an opportunity for me to play Dota 2. Even though I am still not great at it, I am getting the hang of it and I must say, it's such a good game. I still don't think It is better than League ( for now ) but I can see this will become my next online game :) Thanks for the tutorial

    Trying out DOTA 2 again after not playing for many years. Mainly play HotS casually. DOTA 2 feels soooo slow compared to HotS. Thanks for the guide. Will see if i can get back into it else will just stick with my casual HotS

    • @ItsDanta
      @ItsDanta  6 місяців тому

      I like going back to playing HoTS once in a while as well, you don't have to worry about items, denying etc. It's certainly more casual than DOTA. Hope you are able to get back at it x) Also if you want faster paced matches you could try out turbo!

  • @screaminghairyarmadillo

    Hi I'm not sure if you'll see this but I just started playing and all the regular (non new player mode) matches I play have super high level players in them. Is this just how the game works and I have to play new player matches?

    • @ItsDanta
      @ItsDanta  7 місяців тому

      Most new player matches are filled with bots to help new players get used to the game. However they are almost always on easy mode so it's better to learn while doing games against real people. As for the high level thingy I sometimes get queued in turbo matches with new players which is weird. But I think that the only game mode you'll be queued with people around your skill lvl is ranked. That being said I remember that valve did a update that should try to get newer players in the same brackets even when playing All pick or something.

    Well i was left with one question ... Which champs are adc which suports witch junglers which toplaners :))))(league player)

    • @faisaljamaludin2730
      @faisaljamaludin2730 5 місяців тому

      as to answer your question which hero is what, it depends on your situation because some hero can be played in multiple roles. your previous game mid can sometimes play in the offlane in the next game.
      mid heroes usually high tempo caster/spammer hero ie. storm spirit,invoker, zeus that thrive on early levels.(most of them are squishy)
      adc or carry usually comes from agility heroes that have high attack speed or damage but need more items to dish those damage(hence the farm priority). ie sven, drow, juggernaut, antimage
      top laner or offlane are usually tanky heroes that are hard to kill. most of them are strength based heroes that just sit in lane try to make other team carry annoyed. ie tidehunter,timbersaw,axe,
      dedicated jungler is non existent in dota so it is replaced with soft support or roamer. soft support usually sits in lane with offlaner but would be the first to leave the lane to help other lanes or create plays. it is mostly dominated by mobile heroes or heroes with at least 1 guarantee disable or slow in their kit. ie earthshaker, earthspirit, vengeful spirit.
      support or hard support is almost the same in league or dota. but dota hard support had more responsibility which to provide vision, creating stack, sometimes walk mid to help secure power runes. hard support are mostly heroes that have low cooldown spells and dont mind spamming their skills just to make enemy offlaner focus their attention away from the carry. support heroes mostly squishy mage with multiple disable or healing spell built in their kit ie crystal maiden, shadow shaman, lion, enchantress..

    shoutout to my dumb ass constantly trying and failing to deny and generally having clunky autoattacking because as a league player im basically married to attack move and couldn't find the attack move setting in dota so simply didnt realize it exists and have been frustratedly struggling to deny with right click and feeling frustrated i thought i needed to only right click to auto things👌

    • @ItsDanta
      @ItsDanta  7 місяців тому +1

      Usually there is a carry on all lanes and a support to support them. Except for mid since you will be there alone. If you are going to play a hard carry like AM or Terrorblade for example you usually go to the safe lane. That's pretty much it.
