Alright everyone, The Flintstones! This is the mystery book I was talking about, that I wanted two weeks to do. It covers the entire 12 issue series, and is my longest video ever at over 2 hours long! I wanted to have this all live as one video rather than splitting it up across multiple videos, but don’t feel like you have to watch the whole thing in one sitting. I know this is not the book most were guessing I would cover, and I don't think it was tremendously popular sales wise, although critically at least, it did get some recognition. But Flintstones was one of the most unexpected surprises of the last decade for me, it's one of my favorite recent books, and I wanted to share it with you all. What started as a silly throwaway title based on an old property that is not really top of mind, turned into one of the smartest most thought-provoking comics I’ve ever read. There are so many good jokes in here, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed at a comic more. But besides the jokes, there is a lot of emotional moments, and interesting social commentary in the book as well that really makes you think and question things. It might not be for everyone, but I hope you give it a chance and enjoy! Next week Y: The Last Man.
I don't care what people say or reply but I've been a fan brother, but you don't have to insult peoples faith and a book that is anything but ridiculous. The Bible is an amazing book with beautiful stories. I lost a lot of respect at that moment. I can't even enjoy a comic review without someone insulting or making fun of my faith.
I'm surprised Quentin Tarantino hasn't made a Flintstone movie remake. It would be the perfect opportunity for him to have barefoot women as far as the eye can see.
It's amazing to me how this comic had a commentary on the real nature of humanity. Yes we are selfish, yes we think about ourselves, yes we over consume and give nothing back. With it all truly said and done we are all we have, people, we seem to be at each other's throats in actually we couldn't live without each other. I think it's pride that forbids us from admitting that
I wasn't happy when I saw that this was the choice for this week but the more I listened the more I truly enjoyed it. I'm truly surprised at how much I enjoyed the entire 2hrs. Thanks for this one
I'm really shocked Danny I had no idea about this book but enjoyed the entire series and I will be a fan of this and share it with friends. I'm really shocked to see how a bowling bowl and vacuum cleaning could pull me so further into thinking about our world and how we perceive it. Keep up the great work I will continue to look into the work of Mark Russel. By far the best take on The Flintstones I have ever seen.
Appreciate listening to you’re videos a lot of comics I would skip you have been covering .. I’m fairly new to comics so it’s good to have a fresh perspective on some good comics.. Your invincible and boys run are still my favorites tho .. keep grinding dudee
Wow... this review was amazing. I never knew a Flinstone comic can make me sad. It made me think, it made me want to cry. Whoever wrote this really has talent. I wouldn't mind checking out more of their work.
I wouldn't have ever given this book a second if it wasn't for you. If was very enjoyable and you make it very entertaining. Thanks for this and I hope you and your family are doing well during these unusual times.
@@nahhhhhhhh271 Well i stand before you as a humbled man. It was a pretty awesome read. It went into detail about things we never got to see in the og cartoons. Hope you and your's are doing well in these times. Thanks for the content, I am loving this(worried it's going to get dark/something bad is going to happen) I have to work until 7, I'm catching the rest when I get home. Again thanks for the new content, and the material is very interesting.
I really like Mark Russell's Flinstones. It has really good way of providing pages that feel like a newspaper strip cartoon. There are multiple pages that provide a great setup and punchline.
Great content as always. I was pretty disappointed when I saw it was Flintstones. I realized how wrong I was in the first issue. Thanks for exposing me to something I would have never looked at! Looking forward to Y.
Great job today. Always love your videos. One of the point out of fun fact there's a connection with flash Gordon and the Flintstones now. I won't tell you where the hint is but you've read it in multiple different times.
Finally i got to the end, really good, and as always you narrated so well and give the pointers on all those gags, really good, I have to say i did watch the Flintstones as a child , and many of this stories do reflect on the original series, though not in deep or dark as this one does. Still very good indeed. Lol Fred looks like a body builder, he was suppose to be chubby, not fat, more like Alex Jones, and barney a midget or at least less taller than Fred.

Danny, I hope you get a chance to read this. I really enjoyed this episode/review. I enjoyed it so much that I talked to my GF about and now I'm buying her a copy. -Christian
Professor Sargon, a funny play on Carl Sagan. Even resembles him lol. But this was not one I expected Danny but see why you like it. The commentary on everything is awesome. Wonder how many actually get the message between the lines. I'd like to see you do video series on Authority, Rising Stars and Planetary as well. Man keep up the good work!
