I prefer this or any Bach works with the period instruments. I was listening to another one before with a great conductor and musicians but when the flute part in Domine Deus came up it sounded so foreign to me. The music is still as beautiful but Traverso sounds better with the singers. Beautiful performance. Thank you for sharing!
There is another upload here of this work with Philippe Herreweghe and the Collegium Vocale & Collegium Vocale Orchestra with a still frame showing _"The Sacrifice of Isaac"_ by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. While this video above is very nice to view because you see them performing in this beautiful venue, I find the other upload mentioned decidedly better musically, and I compared the two versions piece by piece up to and excluding the _"Credo"_ . Judge for yourself, but I therefore didn't bookmark this one.
@@oedipuscoloneus190 Oh no ! But there is another, complete, BWV 232 with Philippe Herreweghe & Collegium Vocale Gent online. It is not of the same performance, but even better, IMO. Sadly, one there cannot watch the performance and only sees a still frame of _"The Sacrifice of Isaac"_ by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
so beautiful.with the best soloists ,singers. players and Herreweghe .
can`t ask for more
Herreweghe has done some really wonderful Bach recordings, and this joins the list.
The only objection I have is the tempo of the Crucifixus-- there is room for a bit more grief that wouldn't make it soggy or sentimental.
Beautifully with some great soloists like Alex Potter, Dorothee Mields, Peter Kooij and Guy Cutting.
Thank you!

Beautiful, thank you!
The singers are beautiful ! It is a pity that the sound and video do often not synchronize... could that be solved ?
It is an image canon 🙃

First download the file to get rid of the pubs.... Then put it back on youtube private so I can cast it to my stereo system plus TV.
Por favor, suban el AGNUS DEI y el genial coro final.
Enescu Festival - Bucharest 2023
Surprised that Marcel Ponseele is not playing the oboe....
where and when ?
Romanian Athenaeum, Bucharest - 15.09.2023.
The choir sounds like a bunch of soloists and not like a choir, especially the sopranos. The hall looks amazing.
agree.
