These new cars are getting hella heavy. Example. My 79 impala with my fat ass, full tank, trunk of parts and tools. Tipped the scales at 4,000 lbs. The newer Subbie STi's are 4,200 from the factory.

@@JusSkott we’re killing it on the streets with a 418-W Nothing special. Hydraulic roller cam, Skip White cylinder heads that I reworked. We’re running 5.90’s on a 100 shot in the 1/8 mile. We used to build a lot of BBF for Division 3 Street Stock truck pulling. One of our Ford motors won every single pull three years in a row. 590 C.I. With 7.1” aluminum BBC rods, BBC Aries pistons, factory block, factory Cobra jet crankshaft, Super Cobra Jet Cylinder heads and intake. Rules stated that only factory cylinder heads could be used. No aftermarket. But the Chevy guys got to use Grumpy Jenkins BBC cylinder heads. I’ve seen 351 Cleveland powered trucks finish in the top three. Only Small Block platforms pulling against the big blocks. I machined and built race engines for years and from my experience, Fords are way more simpler, easier to build, and make more hp.

I put a 421 Keith Craft stroker Windsor in my 76 F100, w/4 link suspension, even on the street the truck would transfer weight enuf to lift the front tires.
I agree this road isn’t the safest spot. But it’s local and only running 1/8th the mph in a street car isn’t too crazy. We do have a few others spots in the woods that are used more often
