Hey, I did something similar to this using 10-24 threaded rods, spacing nuts and lugnuts! Reused the black spacer from the spring rail and it works great, got my fuel reading back!
I waited until the gas gauge was reading below full when full. that is a good indication that the top hat busted. Although yes I would recommend doing this before to prevent it from happening in the first place. Worst case scenario is that you break both posts while drifting and fuel starve unexpectedly, Or you end up stranded not being able to start the car.
Hey bro can i pick your brain a bit?i accidentally let my 370 run on 1 dot of gas and it shut off on me on my way to the gas station then i pumped half a tank and went home and it shut off on me as i was pulling into the driveway. Then i started up and shut it off a couple of times then revved it to 5k rpms and let it drop on its own and it almost shuts off. The rpms fall almost to 0 and for like 2 maybe 3 seconds it stutters like it wants to shut off then the car revives itself again. Never had left it run so low on gas before. 60kmiles and has test pipes and full stillen exhaust. No tune though. What can you tell me about this issue?
It's sounds like your top hat may have broke both posts. That would leave the pump laying on its side un able to pick fuel up from the tank. This is a common issue with 370's unfortunately and it's much more common when you run below a half tank. Just a really cheap design from the factory. Thankfully it's somewhat of an easy and cheap fix. Mine is still going strong currently and I drift my car. One other thing I would check is your fuel pump fuse in the driver footwell.
@@CJdriftZ i popped that little rhino on sport and drove it hard for about 10 minutes and it appears to have calmed down. I always keep at least above 1/4 tank on it cause i had heard about that fuel starvation ish and didn’t want to find out if it was true or not😬 but ish happens. Forgot my wallet at home and went out and got back almost empty. I hope i did not mess up the pump i was just fixing to get a 3” intake and a tune to go with it and now i might have to spend on the fuel system instead 🥲

You think it's better to replace these early on before you start drifting your Z?
