  • The iGo Metro E is a well priced, well put together city style electric bike that's comfortable and versatile with fenders, rack and lights. Sturdy integrated racks can carry 25 kg each (~50 pounds) and the front rack benefits from head tube mounting design and deflopilator spring for stability when loading and riding, it's also removable. Shorter seat tube allows the saddle to be mounted lower for petite riders, adjustable stem also improves fit, comfortable saddle and semi-ergonomic grips improve ride quality.

It looks to me like there is a lot to like about that e-bike. Having a chainguard seems like a small thing, but it prevents you from ruining trousers with oil from the chain so I applaud this. The front rack bolts to the frame and not the forks. I think this will mean that loads on that rack will have less influence on the handling. A unisex step-through frame is to be commended. Many men like a step-through as well as women. I think it would make a very good practical e-bike for use around town.

Pako 2k Thanks! Great point... it's difficult to tell during the day with a shot like this, maybe I can zoom in on the lights or cover them up partially in the future to give a better idea?

What's it like pedaling when the battery's pooched?

FeldwebelWolfenstool Not too bad if the terrain is paved and flat, the bike is definitely heavier than a non-motorized bicycle but with the efficient tires and relaxed position on this bike (and the gears) it's not terrible.

I am wondering how well the narrow tires work on wet roads.

    Hi
I have to ask you if you do any reviews on Euro Electric bikes.
From a EV fan from Europe, Nick.

2Radium226 Hi Nick, I may visit Europe later this year or next but most of what I cover is here in the US right now. There are so many bikes to keep up with and I'm concerned that if I dip into Europe it might confuse some people who can't get one type or another because they're not sold locally. You guys definitely lead the way and it's exciting to see all of the new technology :)

Thank you for the answer and for the compliment for the technology but one thing I envy is the speed on pure electricity you guys can ride on. In Sweden the max motor limit is 250w and the pedelec max assist speed of 20km/h or 12 mph compared to the US regulations. However looking forward to more of the great videos.

I purchased my Igo Metro on May 17, 2015 and it stopped working on August 13, 2015 and as of today January, 19, 2016 it still does not work. Igo misdiagnosed the problem, sent me the wrong part and now will not return e-mails or phone calls from me or the service technician. This is a very unreputable company and they do not honor their warranty or live up to their mission statement. I am in the process of filing formal complaints with Canadian and US authorities.
