Skypad 2.0 XL Mousepad Review - The Top Performer

  • Glass pads are crazy good. If you can deal with the downsides of a hard surface and get used to the speed, this is the highest performance pad out there. If you have any questions, please ask!
    Despite this performance, I still prefer the consistent results that a control pad offers, and the XTEN Control has been my main over the Skypad since the day I got it and for the foreseeable future.
    Also, gameplay clips? yea, nay? I don't feel like they add anything to the actual content of the review, but they can be pretty fun sometimes.

    This is the most detailed review of the Skypad I've yet to come across! You've encapsulated the experience so precisely, its almost uncanny, bravo!

    Reviewers of the game peripherals today are focused on the aesthetics so much that, the essence of good reviews has disappeared. Gladly I can count on someone to get interesting insights and experience with the product before buying. Subbed!

    would love to see you try a 3.0 and compare. I've heard the 3.0 is actually slower due to being a smoother surface so its stickier. Makes me scared to try it, and you can't purchase the 2,0 anymore

    I'm also on the XTEN. While I love the pad I feel like this might be fun! I'm a control-pad-type of guy though :) Might try the skypad in the future just for the lols since I don't really play competetive any more

    This discussion is amazing. I kind of feel like this with my GPX. I feel my highs are so high, but due to wireless low weight and NOT the most optimal shape (because its so safe) i find a lot of variance in my performance. I dont know if its worth just trying to really master this mouse/shape or find something abit more consistent.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 роки тому

      I feel pretty similar about the gpx. The performance of 60g wireless feels amazing and leads to some great moments. The only negative is that the shape is so awkward and just meh for mouse control. It takes me a while to even remember how I grip it. I'm usually able to find a groove with the gpx and I really enjoy the mouse overall, but if the shape was the same as any other mouse I liked it would be perfect. I think shape is still king and leads to the best results for consistent mouse control. Lightweight wireless does feel incredible, though, and can make up for a less optimal shape.

    will you be reviewing the Skypad 3.0? I'm currently waiting for it to be delivered in January

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 роки тому +1

      Maybe. It doesn’t sound like something I’d like as much as the 2.0 so I’m not super excited to try it out. If it comes on US Amazon and I don’t have to pay the oversea shipping on top of the already crazy expensive pad, I’ll probably have to give it a shot.

    Wondering brother, I know you have time on this pad and time on glass skates. With cost out of the question do you prefer running ptfe on a glass pad or glass feet on various different pads?

    Hey off topic but what are your thoughts on the M2K? I bought the m1k like a year ago and have mained it since. I have gotten better kovaaks scores but im a little disappointed because I do not feel like my aim has dramatically improved over my other mice. What r ur thoughts on it when compared to other mice? Even after a year on it, I still feel more stable and less shaky on other mice in stressful gunfights.

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 роки тому +1

      It's my favorite mouse I've ever used. The feeling of effortlessness you get from a 24g mouse is unmatched and an incredible thing. This makes it really hard to compare to anything else in how I use it. How I aim with the m2k is how I aim with the m2k. I've watched some of my games back my entire mechanical style is different. I don't really aim significantly better than I do on standard mice, but the style I adapt to while using the m2k is more conducive to higher performance. This may be why you don't feel dramatic improvement. It's not necessarily better, just different in how it performs. I am certainly less stable, just like you described, but I find that I can leverage my skills that are better with the m2k like reactivity, click timing, and micro-adjustments to somewhat make up for this lack of stability. I think the most important thing to remember is that you can't really use the m2k like any other mouse. Those situations where you rely on stability will be strictly worse on that mouse than others, but you can make make up this deficit in other ways to create a net benefit. If this lack of stability is a large concern for you, then maybe the m2k is just not a good option for you and it doesn't fit your style. This is completely valid because it is a highly niche mouse.
      It's insanely high quality as well, which just helps it feel better than anything else in hand. The only downside, besides the unjustifiable price, of course, is the cable. It's truly horrid. On any other mouse, it's fine, but the rubber shielding is far too inflexible for 24g. This is the biggest reason to move to something else. You get used to the cable pretty quick and it stops becoming an issue, but you don't realize how bad it is until you switch to something else and instantly feel liberated.
      I have a full review of the m2k posted, but it's pretty shit and I have gotten a lot better, even after making just a few videos. Watch at your own risk.

      Their site has very consistent availability but you'll have to pay for expensive shipping. Amazon gets occasional restocks and is the cheapest option. Other retailers like Lethal get stock too, just less often.

      @@KraftyCraftKraf yeah now It feels way better what do u think of the 3.0 version I feel 2.0 is perfect balance of control and speed

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 роки тому

      Nice. It's crazy how much the surface is affected by aftermarket feet.
      The 3.0 looks interesting. I also really like the skypads feeling of balance so I feel that it being 50% faster could really throw off how it feels and be unnecessarily fast. And the surface is smoother so it might get rid some of the texture that I love. I'll still end up trying it out because you never really know untill you get something in hand, but I am pretty cautious about the changes.

    Would it worn out the mouse feet fast ?

  • @NathanMian
    @NathanMian 2 роки тому

    Apropos wear on mouse feet, this is not a perfect model... Nonetheless, its how I conceptualize the wear. In my experience the wear is proportional to the hardness of the feet, surface and more importantly to the downward force applied to the mouse. Thus it only wears down to a certain point, where it then finds an equilibrium between the aforementioned factors, and now wears considerably slower than initially. You can notice this by taking a look under your mouse, you'll notice certain edges around you mouse feet are more worn than others, however other places aren't at "all".

    • @KraftyCraftKraf
      @KraftyCraftKraf  2 роки тому +1

      Exactly. The entirety of your mouse feet don't make contact with the surface, only small areas that are raised around the edges. There is a pretty distinctive break in period where you need to smooth out these edges and you will see your feet get worn during this time, but once the edges get smoothed out feet wear isn't much of an issue.
