TOTALLY agree! I can't help but want to dance to this one! This is in my top 3 Madonna songs. I remember the video so clearly - and recall I was in love with her looks (hey, I was 9 at the time).
Yes!! I feel you on this :3 This song always has me swaying and singing, imagining Madonna in a warm, foggy tropical paradise with a red pink orange sky, turquoise to royal blue waters and palm trees🌴🌺🌊💕
Madonna has never surpassed her 1980's heyday. In the 1980's she had hit after hit after hit. Her music she has released since then is nowhere near as good as her 1980's music.
Per Songfacts "La Isla Bonita" means "The Beautiful Island" in Spanish. In the song, Madonna sings about the beautiful island of San Pedro, where she longs to be. San Pedro is not a real island. In a 2009 interview with Rolling Stone, Madonna said, "I don't know where that came from. I don't know where San Pedro is. At that point, I wasn't a person who went on holidays to beautiful islands. I may have been on the way to the studio and seen an exit ramp for San Pedro." This song provided yet another look and sound for Madonna, as it had a Spanish theme. In an interview with the New York Times, she called the song, "A tribute to the beauty and mystery of Latin American people."
Madonna’s videos are everything. She had the very best vids in the 80’s. Lots of dance and an interesting story. I recommend Vogue, Like A Prayer and Papa Don’t Preach. The videos are fantastic.
Yes, it does have a salsa vibe and you can dance salsa to it. Yes, it has an island vibe and a Spanish vibe at the same time. Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic, are all islands and Spanish-speaking countries, so you get the best of both worlds. Great song and great vibe
Madonna is a Music Queen to me. Her “controversies” sometimes overshadow her huge repertoire of music (and movies!) The guitar sounds like a nylon string guitar. Check out the music video!
You need to delve deeper into her catalog. It is the most critically acclaimed of any female artist ever, and is an absolute monolith. Guilty pleasure has nothing to do with it.
This is by far my favorite song by Madonna , You really get that Spanish feel if you watch the video to this song and I strongly recommend you play the video version you will love it
The video featured a young unknown aspiring actor named Benicio Del Toro sitting on the hood of a car. My favorite Madonna song. La Isla Bonita (the beautiful island).
I like her Ray of Light album it was a little more experimental, so I don’t think it did as well, but it’s great to do yoga to. She also did the musical movie Evita, it’s long but good.
Absolutely mesmerizing. This is US. All of us. It is universal. I can smell it too. This song is everything, innocent sexy emotive filled vocals, style, the inviting look in the eye, the whisper in the ear and the dance walking away. 🤍💙❤😘😘😘thank you for reviewing this timeliness gem.
Oh wow didnt realize yall reacted to this it were one in my requests list one of my favs from madonna that beat is dope a 90s rapper sampled or were messin around with the instrumental makin beats lol🔥
I was a kid in the 90s and a big Madonna fan. The radio still played some of her 80s hits and I tried to record them all- but somehow I never heard this one until a few years ago. It was a pleasant surprise! Such a beautiful song. BTW a couple years after she did this she did get to go to San Pedro (in the south part of LA on the ocean) - that's where she filmed her Like a Prayer music video.
In the beginning of the 90’s, This song was very popular. I still got the single. And when I was out dancing at a salsoteca that had the name ” La Isla ” ( don’t know if it was named after This song ), but every night by closing time ,they would finish with the intro of this song, with the strumming guitarrs.
This is my top Madonna song and I loved to watch you guys enjoy this classic. However, I have a rather unusual request, but I think you both would enjoy it, (even though it is sung in a dead language from the Viking period) namely "Anoana" by the group Heilung (German word for "healing"). I hope you both are doing great and I wish you the best from Northern Arkansas, Asia and BJ!
Madonna has sung of every experience she has had, this song is her love affair with Lola's father. I am surprised she did not express her love for her Irish relationships with Sean Pen & Guy Richie, maybe she will write a memoir album, she is an artist in every sense of the word, our generation has been on a journey with her with her children she is now revealing her heart she is just lovely 💜👑
Actually the song is dedicated to an actual place. La Isla Bonita is ambergris Caye Belize. A town on the island called San Pedro. You both should go. Beautiful people and food.
My mom couldnt stand Madonna,i guess she found her too much (especially the vulgar, triple x provocative style she had). But then she noticed this song, and her mind changed completely. La Isla Bonita and Papa Dont Preach became 2 of her favourite songs of alltime. She even ended up buying Madonnas greatest hits on VHS to me,wich really showed how much she changed her mind around. When my mom had her mind set on something,it was close to impossible to change her mind. Earlier she tried to "shield me" from certain Madonna videos and such,so for her to buy me that collection says ALOT. I cant really watch it anymore but i still have it,it means so much to me still to this day,i still have it somewhere. And besides, its a dear memory i have left from her. Cancer took her way too early from me and this earth. That also speaks volume on Madonnas behalf, she was able to open moms eyes and mind, and turn her over. Now granted she was still not very positive towards Madonnas "provocative nature",but i guess it was too much to make her see it from Madonnas side. Madonna had a plan with everything (she still has)
One of my favorite Madonna songs. You two crack me up. Have you reacted to "Holiday" by Madonna? Or maybe you've already heard it. Or Borderline and Crazy for You.
The reason you think it had Island vibes is right because La Isla Bonita means the beautiful island! The video for this is very fun and you should just go watch that on your own time
If you want to see her pushing boundaries or at her most controversial, watch 'Justify My Love', 'Erotica' or the unreleased version of 'American Life'
One of my favourite Madonna songs... the music alone puts me in the vibe to sway, dance and smile!!!🥰💃😁
TOTALLY agree! I can't help but want to dance to this one! This is in my top 3 Madonna songs. I remember the video so clearly - and recall I was in love with her looks (hey, I was 9 at the time).

Love this song and most early
Madonna songs. She was fire in the 80's
Early in her career she did a appearance on American Bandstand and in a interview with Dick Clark said she wanted to rule the world and she sure did.
A great Spanish vibe song. Madonna had many hits, check out my favorite - This Use to be My Playground from the movie A League of Their Own
Madonna has never surpassed her 1980's heyday. In the 1980's she had hit after hit after hit. Her music she has released since then is nowhere near as good as her 1980's music.

Madonna was awesome in the 80’s! ! Saw her twice in concert and she was great. What a show she put on.

Nope. Michael Jackson's videos were far better.
I was quick to buy the video DVD set for the Celebration compilation! She really embraced the music video medium, much like MJ.
I got the “True Blue” tape in the 2nd grade and this was one of my favorites. This and “Live to Tell”
Live to Tell is one of the most beautiful songs!
You've just described my #1 & #2 Madonna songs! Live to Tell is tops - just a beautiful piece. La Isla just makes me want to dance!!
Happy Belated Madonna! This is actually my favourite Madonna song. Great reaction.
Try the video of her doing this live with gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello.... incredible performance with SO much energy!!!💙🎶✌️
My husband is a huge Gogol Bordello fan; we saw them live in a place local to us; a good show; I’ll have to check out that video!
Asia & BJ, you'll love her "Into The Groove" and "Dress You Up"!!!
Easily two of her best songs!! Still on my playlist
Madonna is a Music Queen to me. Her “controversies” sometimes overshadow her
huge repertoire of music (and movies!) The guitar sounds like a nylon string guitar.
Check out the music video!
One of Madonna's many masterpiece songs!Very big worldwide hit back in 1986!!!!
I won this album by calling the local radio station as caller number nine. I still have this vinyl.🖖🏼
lol
I got a Madonna tape that way too. Although it was her Dick Tracy soundtrack🤣
You have a jewel in your collection, you won a masterpiece.
As a 40yr plus grown man who was a West Coast Rap & grunge kid. Madonna got a few guilty pleasure songs, this def 1 of them.
You need to delve deeper into her catalog. It is the most critically acclaimed of any female artist ever, and is an absolute monolith. Guilty pleasure has nothing to do with it.

She’s called Queen of Pop for a very damn good reason 🥳🤗🌹… Even MJ confirmed that in the late ‘80…
Hi how MJ confirmed that?
You can tell me more!🙏
Greetings from Mexico!🙂
It's very exciting that you react to the music of my youth.
It's like being part of the family.
Greetings from Uruguay, South America
I like her Ray of Light album it was a little more experimental, so I don’t think it did as well, but it’s great to do yoga to. She also did the musical movie Evita, it’s long but good.

Beautiful song and my favorite of Madonna.
She was on top of her game big time. A legend.
Oh wow didnt realize yall reacted to this it were one in my requests list one of my favs from madonna that beat is dope a 90s rapper sampled or were messin around with the instrumental makin beats lol🔥
My bro BJ knows how to cast them spells of laughter. Cracking me up. Love and happiness is whatcha get. Blessings brother and sis.
One of my personal favorites from her library.
Possibly my all time favorite song by Madonna. I love the Spanish feel behind it.
This song brings me back to the 80's in Spain. It played at every bar and club.
La Isla Bonita-the pretty island ❤️
You guys should react to the entire album The Immaculate Collection 🔥❤️
This song is so beautiful, never gets old. Thanks guys! 😊

Easily my favorite Madonna song , lot's of great memories here .

Truly my favorite Madonna song! Just beautiful ❤️
Her True Blue album is amazing!
Another of my favourite songs which reminds me of holidays is Sand In My Shoes by Dido, the lady who features on Eminem's Stan 💙
She's a Legend this song is timeless.
My favorite Madonna song a masterpiece puts me in a good vibe 🕺💃
You should watch the VIDEO to this song..❤
Sexiest beat of any of her songs, imo. Just wanna dance when I hear this. Oooh that guitar! 💃
Unas de sus mejores canciones , con una guitarra española que sobresale en esta canción 👏👏👏👍👍
Guys the next you need to react is Vogue. It is such an iconic song and one one of her best.
also she did her own background vocals on this album True Blue
Madonna never said for sure but it's believed that La Isla Bonita is San Pedro in Belize, east of Mexico.
A huge hit for her.
Nice reaction! You two have a great chemistry. And the intro song is so beautiful....
Loved Madonna in the Early days...
One of my favorite Madonna songs. She just turned 64
Even in Brazil in the 80's release time it was a BANGER!!! I grew up there and moved here in 1991.
La Isla Bonita is spanish for the beautiful island and San Pedro is an island in Belize. It is beautiful; I was there once.
Man, talk about a vibe! I feel like this is one of her most underrated songs tbh, but it's so damn good!
You need to here Madonna's song *Take a Bow, *Papa Don't Preach, *Rain, *Crazy for You....just to name a few!
La isla bonita translated " the beautiful island"
I used to jam to this song back in the day!
BJ pausing the song in the middle of spanish guitar solo that was taking us into the bridge nearly killed me 🤣
This is my top Madonna song and I loved to watch you guys enjoy this classic. "Live To Tell" is my fav, this is 2nd, then "Frozen" but there is sooooo much, dive deeply!! ❤👍🏽🥳
The video also carries on the Spanish vibe a street party.a guy with a guitar.madonna in a red with black polka dots flaminco type dress.
Thanks you guys for reacting to this classic 💎, hope to see more Madonna 💗 💫
Dude wrote a poem after he heard this joint.
Inspired.
This song has a samba beat; it actually says that in the song. A samba is a kind of Latin dance (I learned that from Dancing With the Stars).
This Vibe Is Where Her Daughter Came From! ❤️
BJ you'll like this one. ' Open ur heart'
Hahaha! Love it when you both react to Madonna. The review at the end, I was in fits 🤣🤣🤣 such a crack up! Love your channel. 💛❤️i
i was stationed in San Antonio when this came out. perfect city for this song...
This is probably my favorite Madonna song, which is hard because there are so many good ones. I like the video to this one too.
Actually the song is dedicated to an actual place. La Isla Bonita is ambergris Caye Belize. A town on the island called San Pedro. You both should go. Beautiful people and food.
I love Asia's "oh! I like this!" face.
try 'Vogue' and ' BORDRLINE', my favorite Madonna cut'
The video is a must on this one.
One of the best Madonna songs out there.
This one and Take A Bow we’re always my favorites by Madonna 🔥
That’s my favourite Madonna song Thankyou for doing it
The video is beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
Feels like I'm in a beautiful Spanish dream. 80s music soooooo good
Where have y'all been with your Madonna reactions?!🥺 Missed it so much I had to rewatch the ones you've done.

you should check out her official video for this song, major spanish vibe
You need to check out Live to Tell... It's from the At Close Range soundtrack
Madonna has done a ton of songs like this , A LOT
One of my favorite Madonna songs. You two crack me up. Have you reacted to "Holiday" by Madonna? Or maybe you've already heard it. Or Borderline and Crazy for You.
Love the queen 👑
"Spanish eyes" is another similar song, even if a little bit slower.
Ok I could see this Latin rhythm reach into your souls. Glad you liked it. It’s a Spanish dance that makes you want to buckle polish. Love you guys.
The reason you think it had Island vibes is right because La Isla Bonita means the beautiful island! The video for this is very fun and you should just go watch that on your own time
The video sets up the song.
The GOAT at her prime here
The video gives you a better feel for this song!
La Isla means The Island so it IS Island vibes - The video features some Salsa Dancing along with some Flamenco stylings, It's a beautiful video.
This song reminds me of Peter Kay's Misheard Song Lyrics. Because the first time I heard I thought she was singing about a Bareta.
If you want to see her pushing boundaries or at her most controversial, watch 'Justify My Love', 'Erotica' or the unreleased version of 'American Life'
The girl on left is so beautiful omg 😍she looks like lil kim back in the day
Just a REMARKABLE string of quality hit singles that stretched nearly a decade for Madonna. Not a stinker among them
isn't Madonna so awesome, so many great songs
I always thought she said "Last night I dreamt of some bagels". I thought this was her best song.
One of my fave songs by her
It’s a badass song ! Very catchy. Try into the groove you’ll have to dance
Big, big, big, big hit here in Brazil
check out Madonna's song Express yourself, another great song
This is my favorite Madonna song!
