80s Madonna is my fave version. There's just something about Papa Don't Preach (and the video) that makes it so unforgettable to me.
Material Girl was another good one from the 80's.
I still listen to her song Borderline.
Agreed! My Madonna fandom began with True Blue, so I agree with Papa Don't Preach and also Open Your Heart.
I agree with you! That is one of the best albums she has In my opinion. I can remember listening to the entire album and loving each song, I wouldn’t skip any of them😊
@@jon-kl9mk "Lucky Star" is my fave 80's Madonna!
Jay & Amber, You'll love her "Dress You Up" and "Papa Don't Preach"!!!
Yes agree 💯🎯 Dress You Up's amazing video of her live performance, and Papa Don't Preach music video was memorable, her amazing vocals and also when she shocked fans and the world as she sported her "new look" that time. "Who's That Girl?" is also a beautiful but often overlooked tune.
They better have done those by now!
I was sitting here trying to think of that one Madonna song and I decided to check and there it is all over all over the comments! 😅
@@michaelasay8587 they have not
Yes but he wants a 2000 hit so I suggest MUSIC
I'm a 45 year old dude. Former active duty Marine. Not at all a fan of Madonna, but there's something about this song. Can't help it. I'll blast TF out of it in the truck when it rarely comes on the radio with no shame. 🤣
Another one of her unique favorites that I love ❤.
Got 24 years on her, and really cannot stand her as a person. However, she did have a good voice and a few very good tunes.
@@richardpare3538 She did have a soul. I used to love her music. Not so much nowadays, but you can't win with entropy.
@@richardpare3538 - Really??? So, you’ve met and gotten to know her as a person as apposed to a personality???? Ridiculous little man statement.
We all have that one Madonna song that just hits the spot. For me it's Open your heart.
No contest that this is my favorite Madonna song. One of my all time favorite songs by any artist. So gorgeous that it brings me to the verge of tears everytime.
I agree because this is one of my favorites. She had a lot of popular songs but I really loved 2 or 3 of her songs.
@@angelark2011 I was just going to say that she does this so well I especially love Latin music give me some Santana
Mine too!😊
+1 my fave!
Same here!
This song came out in '87, the year I was married. We honeymooned in Cancun and this song was playing everywhere. Takes me right back there every time I hear it. We just celebrated our 36th anniversary a few weeks ago so I really enjoyed this reaction!🥰
Happy Anniversary
That's really sweet - Happy Anniversary!
"Papa Don't Preach" is my favorite Madonna song, then "Dress You Up", "Holiday", "Burning Up" " Express Yourself" "Who's That Girl" 'Every Body" "Live To Tell" take your pick . After 2000 Madonna "Hung Up On You" is my my favorite one
Agreed ❤
Yes defenitely,I would add Open your heart.
It's Everybody and Hung Up.
Yeah but he wants a 2000 song . I suggest MUSIC . It came out in 2000
@@jonny_mazerati9410 "Hung Up" came out in 2005
1980’s Madonna was and still is magical. 1990s album Ray Of Light was really good songs like “Frozen” and “Power Of Goodbye”
Those two songs are my favorites and I love Ray of Light because she wrote it for her daughter.
Ray Of Light was right when I was 18 and was into so much Electronica. She picked a great producer to make the album. She kept up with the times. At least until now. She could have aged her image much more gracefully.
Try Open Your Heart or Rain. Rain is stunning production work and beautiful to watch. Open Your Heart is edgy and the video pushes controversy. The two are very different but my personal faves.
Yes! Frozen takes me to another place. And, Take A Bow.💗
80s Madonna was absolute fire. So many great hits with really great songs, And La Isla Bonita is one of her best songs ever - I'm sure a lot of people will name it as their favorite one.
#4 hit in 1987. Great song! "Oh Father" should be next. 😎
Oh Father is one of the greatest songs and videos ever. Heartbreaking but beautiful.
It should have been #1 in my opinion. I love the song Oh Father but l think that they should react from the beginning to current in order for them to appreciate her evolution as an artist.
From a visual standpoint Oh Father is probably one of her most cinematic. The song is heartbreakingly beautiful.
@@ChrisW-17 It was directed by David Fincher who also directed her Express Yourself, Vogue and Bad Girl music videos. Oh Father music video was inspired by Citizen Kane by Orson Welles.
@@dalee72 That makes sense. I can completely see the Citizen Kane-style influence now that you mention it.
RSR should react to that movie too!!
This one COMPLETELY CHANGED my mind about her. I had thought her previous stuff was just computer-programmed hits and a look put together by a management company, much like you see at the beginning of the " material girl" video. I was intrigued when I heard the violins at the beginning of "papa don't preach", I could tell she was getting better, but I still wasn't sold. Suddenly she had conga and Spanish guitar, and a unique sound. I suddenly took her seriously. On the next album, she has a song called " dear Jesse/ oh father" that absolutely solidified my love of her, and I was a metalhead at that time
Dear Jessie and Oh Father are two separate songs. They just segue into each other on the album. Like A Prayer is my favorite Madonna album because it's so personal and another song that I really love on this album is Promise To Try.
@@dalee72 I know and WHAT a segue, phenomenal
Oh Father and Promise to Try are 👌🏼👌🏼
Cherish was a sweet song as well😊
Madonna is an icon. Try Papa Don't Preach, True Blue, Cherish, Frozen, Ray Of Light, Music, Deeper And Deeper, and Bedtime Stories ✌️💐
I would add Live To Tell, Express Yourself, This Used To Be My Playground, Rain, I'll Remember, Secret, Take A Bow, You'll See, Don't Cry For Me Argentina, Drowned World/Substitute For Love, Power Of Goodbye, Nothing Really Matters, American Pie, Music, Don't Tell Me, What It Feels Like For A Girl, Die Another Day, American Life, Hollywood, Nothing Fails, Love Profusion, Hung Up, Sorry, Get Together, Jump, Hey You, 4 Minutes, Give It 2 Me, Miles Away, Celebration, Revolver, Girl Gone Wild, Turn Up The Radio, Living For Love, Ghosttown and Come Alive.
"Hung Up" and "Sorry" are two of her biggest hits from the 2000s.. Her Hit Catalog is ENORMOUS!!
"Sorry" and "Hung Up" are 2 good 2000s songs of hers. A really beautiful ballad to check out is "Masterpiece".
I love "Hung up" ❤❤❤
What about MUSIC it came out in the year 2000
I’ve suggested Music then Hung Up. I think they’d love those!!
"Masterpiece" is so underappreciated
I liked Sorry and Jump :)
This is a cool song by Madonna…An artist I bet y’all would really enjoy is Jody Watley. A couple of her MTV hits are “Looking for a New Love”, and “Don’t You Want Me”. 😎
I'm surprised they haven't gotten around to Jody Watley yet. She was huge throughout the 80's. First with the group Shalamar and then as a solo artist.
Would love to see them do the "Still a Thrill' video. That's such a gorgeous video.
@@raymondwoodard6779 That's my favorite Jody Watley song.
And they should cover Shalamar as well 'A Night to Remember' and 'Dancing in the Sheets,' just to name a couple
@@dalee72 It wasn't as popular as some of her other songs at the time, but it really hits
hard now. Also my niece among other people thought it was a Prince song. I understand why. Andre Cymone wrote it.
@@edier4057 I'm with you there. They were my favorite group back then. A few youtubers have done them, but not enough
for such a talented group.
My favorite Madonna song was always Borderline, though I have come to love many of her songs through time. Madonna was a trendsetter, fashionwise and in dance moves. But you never knew what she was going to come up in her songs and videos and that was part of the fun and the admiration. We only knew everything she came out with was great.
Borderline is also my favorite. Can't wait for them to react to it.
Yeah she's had alot of great hits, but her first stuff is my jam. Holiday and Starbright still gets me up and movin'.
Borderline is my favorite till this day. I still listen to it on UA-cam.
Borderline is definitely top 3 for me with Deeper and Deeper and Ray of Light.
Borderline is the first Madonna song I ever heard and introduced me to her music.
My era, and probably my favorite song by Madonna. You should have a one artist day, all 3 songs one artist. 😁😁😁
Yes,i thinking same.👍
If you're looking to sample some 21th century Madonna, you should definitely start with either 'Music' (2000), 'Don't Tell Me' (2000) or 'Hung Up' (2005). BTW, 'La Isla Bonita' remains an AMAZING song! She's performed it in concert more than almost any other song in her catalogue; considering how much she generally detests revisiting her old music, that says a lot.
Yes music 2000
Good call on both of those!
'Music' with Ali G
Yes to 'Music' or 'Don't tell me'.
Music and Frozen
My favorite Madonna song is Live To Tell. It's often overlooked.
Stunning is accurate. She was /is a beautiful woman. I like that the representation of the Latin culture doesn’t feel exploitative, it feels like an homage- very well done .. Great reaction
Right. It feels very genuine!
I especially like the way she looks now. A real crowd pleaser.
Her best song from the 80s. It was #1 for so long in the single charts here in France.
I am not a big Madonna fan but I do love Spanish culture and she captured it in this song. The Flamenco guitar was awesome.
Y el video creo que rodo en España. Un saludo de una española.
Love this song. This whole album True Blue really made people notice her! 5 #1 songs including this one. One of the best-selling albums of the 1980s by a female artist. “Live to Tell” is still my all time favorite song. She’s STUNNING in the video and during this era!
Such a versatile artist is Madonna. She sings love songs, dance songs, spanish songs, pop songs, technotronic songs, she is the best.
Live to Tell is probably one of Madonna's best tracks. You guys should give it a listen.
For me it will always be her best. The story of the creation/writing of if is also amazing
Like Amber, I prefer her earlier stuff of my generation. Live to Tell is an awesome track, off True Blue and is worth a listen. It’s wonderfully dark and moody.
Agree completely. Have to go play it now ❤
It comes with a movie tie-in, too.
My favorite!!
I think Live to tell is her best vocal performance.
Such an underappreciated song. Dark and moody is a terrific description.
LIVE TO TELL
LIVE TO TELL
LIVE TO TELL
Live to Tell all day long - You must listen to Live To Tell!
She is the most diverse artist in music history. Every album was completely different than the last and it was never a gimmick. It was always a real reflection of changes in her life, her interests and what she was listening to herself. She has always been her own creation. One of her best albums, Confessions on a Dancefloor and corresponding tour were in 2005-2006. Hung Up was the lead single but the entire album was great
Nobody had done latin flavoured before this on this scale. Iconic hit. MORE MADONNA!!!!!!!!! Her live performances are fire. Greatest live performer in history. Express Yourself is my fav. Most expensive video ever made at the time and still ranks as third ever still I believe.
I grew up as an 80s kid with Madonna blasting in our house 24/7. True Blue, Borderline, Lucky Star...wooooh! Vintage Madonna is incomparable!
I was 18 when Madonna’s first album was released. Love so many of her songs. ❤
My favorite of hers is a song called "Secret" off her Bedtime Stories album. Some of my other favorites are "Open Your Heart", "Live To Tell", "Cherish", "Dress You Up" and this song, so thanks for the reaction.
Secret is a great song of hers!
Masterpiece-2010. The most beautiful and haunting ballad which won a Golden Globe award. Written by herself.
This song won the Golden Globe in 2012. I think that she had co-song writers for the song because the man and the woman who wrote the song went on stage to accept the award with her.
Music is my favorite Madonna song from the 2000's. Ray of Light and Frozen from 1998 are great. She did the soundtrack from Dick Tracy in the 80's and that entire album has a delightful 80's vibe!
Whoops. Dick Tracy was 1990. Still felt like the 80's, IMO. :-)
Frozen gets me every time.
Ray of Light is a banger
"I'm Breathless" (the Dick Tracy songs) is the only Madonna album I ever bought. Although it definitely reminded me of the 1940s more than the 1980s!
Best 2000s Madonna song is "Hung up" it even features a wee ABBA sample
Madonna is stunning whenever she is on screen. Legendary!!!
'Give It To Me' ...LIVE ! A modern unstoppable Madonna!
"Madonna was born Madonna Louise Ciccone on August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan. She was raised in Pontiac and Rochester Hills, north of Detroit. She studied ballet as a child but attended the University of Michigan on a dance scholarship, turning to modern dance and studying with famed choreographer and dancer Martha Graham. It was Graham who dubbed Madonna “Madame X,” a name she would return to later in her career. However, she dropped out after two years and moved to New York City to pursue a career as a dancer.
"There she worked as a waitress then backup dancer and singer. She formed a rock band, the Breakfast Club, with boyfriend Dan Gilroy, followed by a second band, Emmy, in which she wrote songs with band co-founder Stephen Bray.
"In 1982 she was signed by Sire Records and started her solo career as a singer. She released her first album, Madonna, in 1983. Her second album, Like a Virgin, was the first by a female artist to top five million sales in the United States."
My absolute favorite slower Madonna song is Take a Bow. My heart was ripped into pieces about the time that song released. I could so relate to it.
Yes!!! Take a Bow is stunning!!! With Babyface on backing vocals too. 👌🏼👌🏼
The arrangement of this song was so beautifully done. It's one of my favorites from Madonna ❤
"THIS USED TO BE MY PLAYGROUND"
"SECRET"
"TAKE A BOW"
nice power ballads by
MADONNA
❤
This is probably my favorite Madonna song. I was in high school when this released, and this brings back fond memories.
OMG, the memories!!!!❤️❤️ All us little girls wanted that killer red dress back in the day!💃
Papa Don't preach, Open your heart, Who's that girl, Burning up, Borderline, Holiday, Live to tell, Lucky star is another jams you should check.
Jay.. You want "Express Yourself", by Madonna... Amber "Rain", "Live To Tell", and "This Used To Be My Playground", are slower, but still iconic Madonna!!!❤❤❤
"Rain" is beautiful
a good 2000s song for you to do would be either Hung Up if you want up tempo, or Ghosttown if you want a ballad.
Ghostown! Nice! 👌🏼👌🏼
Have a listen to Live To Tell. For me it's her best song
Agreed 👍🏼
Love this one. I've been to San Pedro, Belize on the island of Ambergris Caye and they swear its about their town. But this is a good Madonna. 😊
2000nds Madonna Playlist 1) Music 2) Don’t tell me 3) Die Another day 4) Hung Up 5) 4 Minutes
My all time favorite Madonna song. The Latin vibe to it really enhanced the sound so much more. It's one of her BEST songs.
One of my absolute favorite Madonna Songs. Have you guys done “Express Yourself”?
So glad you finally did this one! There are 5 top Madonna songs post 2000 imho. What it feels like for a girl, music, 4 minutes, hung up & my favorite- Get Together!. But Madonna’s only Grammy winning album was 1998’s Ray if Light. Many great ones on there. It was an experimental album for her. But it was brilliant as well!
This is one of those madonna songs that everybody kind of likes. Madonna has natural, dancing ability, it was an aspiring professional dancer prior to becoming a singer. She kills Latin dancing… And you should see her cha-cha! If you want some hits from the 2000s, I would recommend Music, Hung Up, Girl Gone Wild. Do you want an excellent song to see her just stand on the stage with a guitar, Rebel Heart from the Rebel Heart tour. Amber is correct, Madonna has a lot to offer, you have barely scratched the surface. I recommend reviewing her music from live tours, where she truly shines.
Dress You Up is my favorite. She has such a varied catalog and was/is a favorite of many.
A great Madonna song is "I'll remember" and then you could also review the awesome movie "with honors" which the song came from.
And you’ll see
People who only know Madonna as the strange alien lifeform she has evolved into are cheating themselves if they don't learn about her from before she got like she is. She's one of two or three artists who best define 80s pop, and her 90s were nearly as productive.
"Open Your Heart" - one of my favorite Madonna songs and a great video.
You might want to check a ballad Madonna did called Live To Tell. It was the title track for the movie At Close Range, starring her ex, Sean Penn, Christopher Walken and Mary Stuart Masterson. The movie was based on a true story. The movie would also be a good one for you and J to check out.
What a great song from Madonna. One of her best by far. Fun fact, actor, producer Benicio Del Toro is in the video as a young man. He's shown sitting on the hood of the car towards the end of the video. I agree with several others about checking out " Oh Father " very moving song.
I’ve always loved this song! Thank you for giving me an excuse to listen to it and Madonna again. ❤️
I think you would love Madonna's "Human Nature". Incredible message and a phenomenal video!
Papa Don’t Preach is another icon hit from Madonna in the 80’s. ‘Music’ was Madonna’s last No.1 hit in the US in 2000. But internationally it was ‘Hung Up’ in 2005.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet, but a great 2000's Madonna song is "Hung up" a late 90's song with just a BEAUTIFUL video is the song " Frozen" just a beautiful song.
Madonna had a song on one of the Austin Powers Movie Soundtracks- Beautiful Stranger That song was from ‘99 I think.
G'day it's Steven from Down Under
It's wonderful that younger generations are enjoying the artistry of Madonna.
All hail the Queen of Pop!
Such a great song, plus it brought the Latin sound and beat to a public who mostly had not been exposed to it before, and also helped show record companies that there was public interest in Latin music. Less than ten years later Latin music became a major trend in the US, with musicians like Ricky Martin, Mark Anthony, Selena, Shakira, and Enrique Inglesias rising to the top of the charts.
Gloria Estefan begs to differ.
@@auldfouter8661 Who do you think got more airplay, Miami Sound Machine or Madonna?
All right then.
@@Roguefem76 I don't dispute that Madonna made a little talent go a very long way.
@@auldfouter8661 If all you want to do is argue then go find a political channel. Don't bring your bad attitude all over Jay and Amber's channel.
@@Roguefem76 I think Julio Iglesia is the main character, he is the lit, he brought his music to America, he smashed the border between two languages in 1982-83. Those years were a big bang. Was the time when all kind of music blended beautifully That’s why I ❤❤❤❤❤ the 80’s.

Madonna "Celebration" and "Girls Gone Wild" excellent high energy songs from the 2000s
Thank you for this reaction to Madonna!! Don't forget to add Alaska's own Jewel to you Female Friday playlist with her brilliant song "Foolish Games"!
For Madonna, you should do the following:
Live to Tell
Take a Bow
Rain
Open Your Heart to Me
True Blue
Cherish
Dress You Up
Deeper and Deeper
Don't Tell Me
Hung Up
Secrets
Loved seeing your reaction to this Madonna classic! For the 2000's: "Music", "Don't Tell Me", "Die Another Day", "American Life", "Hollywood", "Hung Up", "Sorry", "Get Together", "Jump", "4 Minutes", "Give It 2 Me" and "Miles Away".
Don't forget "Love Profusion" :)
Madonnas "Beautiful Stranger" from the Austin Powers soundtrack has a great video and its fun song from the 2000's, I feel like you both would get a kick out of it. Madonna also did the theme for James Bonds die another day "Die Another day" which is also great!
LOVE this song. every song on this album are AWESOME! True Blue is great too. glad you liked it
It's absolutely amazing what a career Madonna has had. She moved from her home in Detroit, Michigan to Queens, New York in 1979 and became a drummer, guitarist and singer in a band titled The Breakfast Club. She moved on in 1980 to form another band titled Emmy and the Emmys. She would find her first success by going solo and releasing her first album in 1983. She would go on to have many hits off of multiple albums and win numerous awards as a pop artist to become a pop icon
Some other hits of Madonna's you might like to check out are:
1. Borderline
2. Like A Virgin
3. Papa Don't Preach
4. Lucky Star
5. Dress You Up
6. Live To Tell
7. Where's The Party
8. Holiday
9. Open Your Heart
10. Express Yourself
So glad that the Rob Squad is keeping great music alive. Keep doing what you do. We appreciate you so much! 😊
The best Madonna song for me is OPEN YOUR HEART
Keep up with Madonna
Her catalog is so vast and iconic
This song came out in 86, same year as Jody Watley's big hit song 'Looking for a new love'. Top five best dance song of the 80's for sure. Definitely deserves a listen to.
According to Wikipedia "La Isla Bonita" was released as the fifth and final single from True Blue on February 25, 1987. 😘
Oh my God Madonna back in the day fucking rocked!
Early Madonna is great. I'm a big fan of this whole album, True Blue (which was her third album) and also her first, self-titled album.
Madonna's concerts are huge productions and always have music and artistic visuals from multiple cultures. She essentially gives her audience a cultural lesson with every show.

Also Madonnas song RAIN! Beautiful!
This is one of my faves by Madge. I love the way it gently rolls along, and your right, the guitar is fantastic.

"Papa don't preach"
You guys should definitely check out songs from her 1983 debut album (titled after her). When you listen to that album, it is clear that she was going to be s superstar! In those days, no one was making music like her, and she had several hit singles off that album, including: "Lucky Star", "Borderline", "Holiday", "Physical Attraction". It was definitely one of the more popular debut albums of any artist. MTV was also still very fresh in those days (beginning in 1981), and artists like Madonna was like their golden girl who helped make MTV a very popular staple for young TV audiences. That debut album was received with critical acclaim, going 5x Platinum, and selling more than 10,000,000 copies worldwide. She also won a VMA for her single "Borderline" from that album (which she wrote). Like I said, just based on her debut album, it was sure she would become a mega superstar. And she has proven that by being nominated for over 800 times for various music awards over her decades long career, and winning at least 417 of those awards.
My favorite Madonna song is "Love Don't Live Here Anymore". It's one a lot of people don't think of when they think of Madonna's songs & it really showcases her voice.
Jay and Amber! First, I LOVE this song. Talk about a summer vibe!!! The whole "True Blue" album is spectacular. "La Isla Bonita" was its 5th single!! As for 2000s Madonna, check out "Music", "4 Minutes" (with Justin Timberlake), and "Hung Up". All amazing!!!! OH WAIT, forgot about "Celebration" and "Jump"!
Please, please rep KD Lang…she is just incredible. Her duet with
Tony Bennett “ Blue Velvet” is stunning..and I know both of you
love your crooners! Tony is one of the best as well as the last. You
absolutely will not regret it! ❤️🔥
So many different Madonnas! It was amazing to grow up and see her reinvent herself over and over. You have to respect the one who set the trends!✌
Madonna has a deep catalog, but this is one of my favorites!!!!
If you want a great Madonna song from the 200s I'd go for Hung Up or Sorry. Both absolute bangers.
Definitely one of her best songs! The Latin influence works so very well. Check out "Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl."
One of the greatest female singers EVER!!! She revolutionized pop music and live performances and music videos as did MJ .
I cant believe you dont know about the Madonna of 80s and 90s when She was the most famous woman in the world, she was so great in that period!! True blue album was and IS my favourite album of Madonna.
Madonnas’s earlier stuff is the best. I’m pretty sure Borderline was her first hit - also love Like A Prayer which was very controversial
Her first movie, Definitely Seeking Susan is a good one to check out on movie night. It was fun that everybody dressed like her in the 80’s
