    Remember, Ermes has been using Devons exercises and focused on his hand wrist ever since this fight. Expect high hand control and trying to control your pronator. He has long enough arm to follow you back to the pad when you do your back pressure exercise,watch your elbow on the back. He will grab onto your thumb, you will back pressure and he will try to press

    • @hanzo52
      @hanzo52 23 дні тому +12

      I think your golden lane vs Ermes is getting him out of shoulder line, disable his press, then just bleed him Toddstyle

      Let's not forget emulating Devon is not possible, he gets away with an advantageous grip due to his status and sleight of hand with the judges. Always higher webbing, that's why he won't fight taller arms like laletin, he won't be able to get away with unfair grip.

    • @georgepoly4842

      @@hanzo52yeah so this bullshit narrative will be dismissed soon thankfully once that match happens, and it will. Devon obliterated ermes and he’s not the only one that fights in the setup. Ermes’s gets advantageous ethos all the time and so does every other elite puller (I.e Vitaly vs Dzeranov). Devon happens to be better at it than everyone else. But against Ermes the match wasn’t remotely close anyways lol.

    Careful, Michael. During the rounds, Devon never joked around like he did with other opponents. He tried to finish the match as quickly as possible, which shows how much he feared Ermes' power. PS: I loved the National Geographic part of the video about your gorgeous cat

      Devon absolutely dis joke around, right at the point where Ermes spoke to him about going inside, Devon was like "yeah? Yeah? I'll go inside with ya" then proceeded to until ermes connected and got access to his strength for the first time then Dev had to go back outside, catch ermes and bring him back to centre. Michael won't be doing any of that but Michael can just sit there in a kings and troll ermes provided it all goes to plan....

    6:02 it's not just Devon's side pressure that's blocking Ermes' press, it's Devon's cup controlling Ermes' pronator. This is why a strong cup is super important for blocking a press. It's not just side pressure, we all know that Devon isn't known for his side pressure and is known for his hand.

    • @AussieRiser
      @AussieRiser 23 дні тому +9

      This is spot on. Blocking pronation with cup is super important to beat flop wrist press. Devon also pulled emres over to his side of the table which takes power away from the flop wrist press even more

    I wouldn’t pay much attention to this. Ermes was not himself. He looked pale during his walk. Devon got to him. Luke also did a piss poor job being fair to Ermes. In the 2nd round, for whatever reason Ermes didn’t do his traditional posting back pressure engage top roll as usually he went sideways and cracked his own wrist thinking he’d be strong enough to press Devon because he almost pressed levan. Keep in mind that the match between Ermes and Devon was, how can i say, a "disappointment" for all his fans, as we expected a very different performance from him.

    Devon is able to pronate through Ermes wrist because in the setup Devon gets his elbow to the front of the pad, and with the longer lever and bigger hand he can get his webbing higher. This was why Ermes kept lifting his elbow and opening his hand and fouling out. At that first ready go in the straps, Ermes wrist was was already done for as soon as the go was called. Forcing him into the flop, once that that has happened a single time it's done for the entire super match. Did the same to Prudnik and to John. I dont think that strategy will work for Michael, he's too kind in the setup and his arm isn't as long or his hand as big. Michael just needs to do what he does best, stop the match, climb the hand and bleed him out. By all means get into Ermes head if you can. I dont think Devon can apply this tactic to someone like Vitaly, and I think he will have a hard time beating him. Levan too strong. I think everyone else isn't going to be able to beat it. Devon’s opponents need to make the ref move his elbow back to get the webbing even, otherwise Devon will have their wrist, and he's too skillful and too strong to lose to the press again since Genadi made him his fix his weakness. I'm not saying he's cheating, he's just bullying the setup which might be the most important skill in the game.

    The problem with devon is that he would start on the front of his pad even against a fucking dwarf. In his head its his right but in reality the longer forearm need to back a lil bit because its physicly impossible for the shorter forearm to grip u. Ofcourse he lift his elbow he wants to start the match and he can't grip without lifting his elbow. I both guy start equal st the front of the pad the shorter forearm will lose everytime his webbing will be much lower

    You are a very different puller from Devon, I'm not sure how much of this you can even apply in your own match. The length of his hand and forearm is a crucial factor that Devon has learned to weaponise in order to give himself an advantageous grip against anyone shorter. You can't do a thing about that. Further, he seems to have gotten a lot stickier closer to center table than he once was and he's extremely active with regripping, while you are still routinely taken and held close to the pin pad and seem to be more static, struggling dig your way out. Keep in mind that a much weaker Ermes dominated Genadi's hand from round 1 while a recovering Genadi pretty much had you palm up for quite a while before you managed to bring it back.
    I'm not saying you're gonna lose, but you need to understand this is going to be an absolutely brutal match for you. You're not going to crack Ermes' hand off go.

    Don't expect Ermes to give up and sulk like a wounded animal after the first round like he did with Devon for some reason. Devon got in his head and you simply aren't as intimidating of an opponent. I do hope he actually decides to do something this match so we can see a proper match.

  • @sebastien8679
    @sebastien8679 23 дні тому +2

    I don't see this match as a complete win for Devon, if everyone is thinking logically. Ermes has very good table IQ and he just threw this away, and the refs just don't seem to call all the foulness Devon does but I don't blame Devon for being an annoying guy (as always in the setup) because he had a chance to be number one, since he couldn't beat Levan. If you can be as annoying in the setup like Devon you definitely have a chance but Ermes will do the same. Hope the refs won't get stricter then lol.

    • @Average1212
      @Average1212 21 день тому

      The refs can’t call Devon’s fouls without calling ermes as well. And if they call ermes strictly he loses the first two rounds without even getting a ready go.

    Ermes was small then. I think because he did so well against Levan whereas Devon got slaughtered he thought this would be easy and didn’t train much.
    Also Devon said after that Ermes had no idea how to armwrestle. Devon could take so many advantages in the setup and Ermes didn’t seem to understand

      Yeah, I don’t agree with that at all, if you are right then why did Ernie’s when it came down to it slip and pull out you can clearly see it, my personal opinion is he thought so too but once in that position and could not take Devon, you can clearly see he slips out, but I guess that’s just my opinion based on what my eyes are seeing

    I think in that round Ermes may have not applied his pronation at the right time and he tried to go to his side without that hand sync. To beat Devon's hand it seems you have to be in sync with your hand as much as your arm involving where to move, otherwise, you have Ermes. Height seems to also have been a hill to Ermes. Center table I believe will be pivotal in this match. The worst thing possible is either attacking Ermes and losing the hand, or Ermes attacking and coming over to press. My prediction, this may turn into an ugly match if it isn't dominating.

    In my opinion, Michael doesn't have the hand strength that Devon does. Devon's hand and arm length is what gave him the edge over Ermes. Even Levan had a hard time with Ermes's arm in a defensive position so it's going to be interesting to see how Michael approaches the pin. It's going to be an interesting match.

  • @allanbrunelle

    If Ermes cant take Michaels hand and wrist then its gonna be a long night for Ermes. I personally dont think he can and i think if he tries to press Mike and loses his wrist (which he will lose his wrist if he tries to press) i think Mike will have Ermes hand so pumped at that point that it will be game over.
