Thank you for trying Spam! It is a staple here in Hawaii. We usually make Spam Musubi with it. Or you can have it in fried rice, or with eggs. It’s really good, but yes, quite salty.
You can get chicken and turkey "Spam" made by companies, but the tin shown in the thumbnail is definitely the pork version as sold in the UK, it became popular during WW2 amongst U.S. and UK soldiers and wartime families struggling to get meat due to rationing.
Since you have halal Spam, you should do a tasting video with New Jersey's famous breakfast sandwich. You can use Spam as a close-enough substitute for the pork roll/Taylor Ham. Put two fried eggs, American cheese (you can use Colby or cheddar as well), and five or six slices of the meat on a roll. Slice the Spam about twice as thin as you have it here, and fry it up until it starts to get a little crispy. The eggs shouldn't be scrambled, but break the yolks when you start frying them so they don't make a runny mess in the sandwich. Not scrambled eggs, but more like mixed-up / swirled eggs, lol. Put the cheese on the eggs after the last flipping, so it has a chance to melt. We also like to make Spam and cheese sandwiches with a mustard on them (served on a roll, too) for lunch or dinner, so Mr. Chaudhary was not far off at all!
I'm from Hawaii, where SPAM is a staple. When I first moved to Washington State, I met someone who cracked the can open, sliced it up and started eating it!!!! I was horrified!!😃 She asked if that's not how to eat it. I said NO!!! In Hawaii we at least fry it with some salt n pepper. She tried it and was mind blown! 🤯 Some people.........😵💫😂
Here in the UK it’s mainly eaten straight out of the can, in a sandwich, we also have something called Spam fritters which is deep fried Spam covered in crispy batter.
I prefer it fried and on toast like a BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato). Bacon is lot more expensive. Sometimes when I cook the slices of spam I'll eat one slice on the side that is uncooked and as well as my dog.
They need to tell us more about how the food is prepared. Is this turkey spam? It is fried or raw? I've always taken it from the can, sliced it and given it a good rinse to get rid of some of the salt, and then fried it.
Canning meat cooks it more than cooking it directly. It's perfectly safe to eat straight from the can for that very reason & commercial canners use retorts that get up to a higher level of heat & pressure than we can with home pressure canners. It's the pressure of the steam that kills botulinum and expels all oxygen so no poison toxins can ever be emitted by living botulinum.

Definitely try it! It's yum! But cut it thin, thinner than even these guys are having it. I like mine super thin, so that when you fry it, it gets crispy, but that's a little extreme. 🤣 Probably a piece 2/3 the width of theirs is good. Then make sure to fry it. Don't just eat it out of the can (although I'm sure that's possible). Makes it delicious! 😋

What Is Spam Made Of? Spam contains six ingredients: a mixture of pork and ham meat, salt, water, potato starch, sugar, and sodium nitrite, a food preservative added to bacon, hot dogs, cured meats, sausage, and smoked fish. Aside from adding potato starch in the 1990s, Spam's recipe is relatively unchanged.

I'm not a huge fan of the original but the bacon flavoured one really made me a part time Spam & egg fan, but it must be cooked well done.
Lol! I like spam it's too salty, but there's way to cut that back. It's not healthy, but for military and survival situations it a great thing to have. I'm not really sure why the military cut it out of rations completely it fits that role really well.
Same! I grew up in a very poor family and had to eat spam a lot (yes, I just said spam-a-lot), and would gag every time. The look, smell, texture, taste, and ingredients I find offensive lol. Just terrible. My dad would fry the crap out of it until it was crispy and bury it in plain rice, as that was the only way I was going to get any down. As an adult, everyone makes fun of me for always keeping a big stash of dried “doomsday beans” because I never intend to eat spam ever again - even if Armageddon should be at hand 🤣
😂 I would never eat spam after tasting it once as a teenager... but 30 years later I tasted some my son fried up and loved it, it was bacon Spam OMGOSH so good, I'm sure I'd like the turkey one too. But I would never replace bacon with Spam.
Been eating spam since I was a kid and still love it years later. Cut 2 slices of spam, put a slice of cheese between them, THEN bread it with egg and bread mix. Next fry them and they will go crunchy and delicious 😋
I remember that recipe! My mother and her golf buddies used to make that and Spam loaf also. It was frosted with cream cheese and topped with slices of green olives.
@@Befree898 I've never heard of that before and I thought I knew all of the old Spam recipes. I'll have to try it if I ever wind up with Spam again after a hurricane.
I used to have a pasta dish that I would make it came out of a teenage magazine. But I have no idea what happened to the magazine and I do not remember how to make it. But the one you made with the Velveeta, I'll be using turkey and making that one thanks
That's Awesome you could put it in a food processor with a few chosen herbs and make pate`
I eat spam occasionally. I slice it thin and fry it crispy.
That's the perfect way to cook spam 😀
Over rice or eggs 👌🏻
That's the only way I eat it!
I tried it when I was young and I had just come to the US from Ecuador, I was 9 and didn't know any better so I tried it straight out the can, biggest mistake of my life 🤣🤣
Can never get over Chaudhary's expressive eyes. Like a child trying broccoli for the first time, lol.
Tahir is a smart one there. I’m going to add Spam among my power bars, trail mix, and other things you put in your pack when you’re hiking haha 👌🏼
Wow! I love that they each liked it. I hear it's good when it's fried with scrambled egg on buttery toast. Haven't had SPAM since I was a kid. I didn't really care for it, but I did LOVE fried bologna and fried salami. 😋😋 So .... when are you guys coming to the States? You know you are READY to come and we're READY to welcome you here!
HAHAHAH the SPINE! Oh dear, yes, the spine, the tongue, the rear, the ears the nose and whatever else.
Lmaooooooo I just ate a fried SPAM sandwich 🥪 with Dukes mayonnaise for lunch today. Love ❤️ it
These people are too nice to make them eat Spam. Bleech! Brings back back childhood memories of my mom pulling out a can of Spam, potted meat or Vienne Sausages when we were hungry but broke. Nope, nope, nope.
I learn more Punjabi in their videos than my 4 years in India! Love them all 😊
Thanks!
Thanks
The way they describe things is hilarious
And also accurate. Soap and tongue is so perfectly descriptive.
Just like Hawaii, we puertoricans have many delicious spam dishes. Just to mention one, yellow rice with chunks of spam and corn in it served w red or pinto beans in sauce on the side. Add some sweet plantains or a slice of avocado on the side and u have a feast! ❤️
Spam is trash.
Now there's a suggestion: curry it up with peas and veggies. Doubt my wife would go for it but, heck, I sure would. Might even remind me of meals I ate in the Navy ;-) Stay safe & healthy all of you!

Still do
Most people in America cook the spam it's really good a lot of people take mustard and put it on the hot spam in between two pieces of bread. That's the way I was taught to enjoy the taste with it hiding behind the taste of the mustard spam is not bad it's a food to be prepared when bad times come because it lasts forever
@zombielover317able...That's the exact same way I eat 🌭's. Only if they're slathered in mustard to hide the taste. 🤣
I grew up eating it after it was cut into thin slices, made toasty on a pan, with a side of rice. Still great 👍
My dad still loves fried spam (Prem), dill pickle, and mustard sandwiches.
There is nothing wrong with the taste other than it being salty. But that's why it doesn't spoil. I fry it up in a pan for breakfast with eggs.
Fried, on bread with mustard....delicious. On toast with over easy eggs, also fabulous!
Chaudhary asked the same question everyone in the entire world asks about SPAM. "Is it Meat?"
Our friends really weren't sure about the Spam at first! They looked, smelled, poked at it and asked questions before they decided to taste!
Yes they are pure innocent peoples

I did a double-take when Chaudhary said, "The meat is melting like barfi." I was thinking that Spam is barf in my book. LOL
I did the same thing!
@Station 857 you do realize the irony of criticizing one persons opinion for no other reason then because other people have opinions too... smh... smh
Thank you for trying Spam! It is a staple here in Hawaii. We usually make Spam Musubi with it. Or you can have it in fried rice, or with eggs. It’s really good, but yes, quite salty.
You can get chicken and turkey "Spam" made by companies, but the tin shown in the thumbnail is definitely the pork version as sold in the UK, it became popular during WW2 amongst U.S. and UK soldiers and wartime families struggling to get meat due to rationing.
my late father was of that era and to his last days loved fried SPAM. He said at times it was the only meat available.
Don't know about the UK, but here in the US, Spam-brand turkey sold in the cans is 100% roasted turkey, no pork or chicken, etc.
😊👌You're absolutely right, that Spam shown is of the🐷🐷 🐽Piggy piggy Pork variety. If it's not Pork, is Not Spam
Mr. Rana-those new dentures are looking Good! (and they are working well too.) ⭐️
I don't eat Spam often, but occasionally, I like a fried Spam sandwich with mustard. So good!
Oh my gosh, they are so funny! The one guy says to give the rolls to your 'brawler wife' !!! LOL
Now they need to watch the Monty Python skit about Spam.
Spam is good for camping. Saves cooler space.
Some people.........😵💫😂
Here in the UK it’s mainly eaten straight out of the can, in a sandwich, we also have something called Spam fritters which is deep fried Spam covered in crispy batter.
UMM... love musubi!!!
I prefer it fried and on toast like a BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato). Bacon is lot more expensive. Sometimes when I cook the slices of spam I'll eat one slice on the side that is uncooked and as well as my dog.
You shouldn't eat pork cause of Islamic dietary laws
Loved hearing what you guys said it looked like 😊
Spam fritters in batter with fried eggs chips and beans - I grew up on that at least once a week for about ten years. 🤤
Hell yeah! Spam fritters are amazing. egg and chips are delicious together so spam, eggs and chips is basically the perfect meal.
I still have it now and again
GREAT VIDEO-you guys are awesome!
My suggestions:
cereal, M&M`s, RIBS!!, steam-um (cheesesteak), pierogies, hot pocket
Bagels with different flavors of cream cheese would make a great video. 😁
This is the best thing on UA-cam? I would definitely volunteer to try their local foods & delicacies 👍🏽
They need to tell us more about how the food is prepared. Is this turkey spam? It is fried or raw? I've always taken it from the can, sliced it and given it a good rinse to get rid of some of the salt, and then fried it.
I always cut two slices such as they did, add Swiss cheese and mayo in a sandwich.
You're a monster for rinsing the saltiness off
I am a heart patient so I must rinse some of the saltiness off it, then I either just pop it onto my sandwich,or fry it.

I'm more than 50 years old and an American, and even spent a few years in Hawaii. I'm 98% sure I've never tried spam before as it always looked vile to me.
Based on the reports of these gentlemen, I will try it as well as this lager beer that you recommend.
Maybe this is not a real Spam brand, but something similar to it and called Spam by TPT, in my country there are many brands that is similar to Spam, made from beef, turkey and chicken. Anyway, I still love their reaction and review and also GSK talks about eating beef in 6:20 so, i assume it is beef.

Turkey Spam is terrific! I use it regularly to make fried leftover rice with a lot of smallish cut vegetables & plenty of onions. A lot of Americans turn their nose up at it_, but it was very common when introduced to the American public right after WW II. I remember the first time I had it at 4 years old right after WW II.
And of course it's a Hawaiian staple. We've tried all the flavors, before my husband realize what was causing his gout. So now we stick with the turkey 😒
I was surprised that most liked it. I had to agree with Chaudry. These videos tickle me so much. I watch one every day at lunch🙏

Spam fritters are delicious 👍🏻
The best SPAM fritters are coated with leftover mashed potatoes with egg and a little flour added.

Thanks for being such good sports guys and rising to the challenge. Chaudhary's facial expressions are exactly like mine every time I've tried it. Ha ha ha! 🤢🤢
You exaggerate the fat content greatly and turkey Spam has even less fat.
Yes, it's not for everyone... but it's a staple in Hawaiian homes... know as the poor mans meat at .75cents a can back in the 70's many American homes grew up eating this...

Been eating spam since I was a kid and still love it years later. My favorite way to eat it is fry the spam crispy, serve it over white rice, a couple fried but still runny eggs on top, and a whole buncha siracha. Talk about a meal that'll fill you up. Another one I don't do too often but is especially delicious is spam and kimchi fried rice...so good.
