Here from the American Midwest, when the homegrown tomatoes and sweet corn are ready, this sandwich is as good as any meal I could get in an expensive restaurant. Sometimes, less, is more.

I do love how out of respect for the Halal foods that the sandwich has beef bacon. Though not the same, it shows great respect for the faith of these fine gentlemen. Also, it is worthy of note that before the first bite of each food item, they all give praise and thanks to God for what the nourishment received. Also, these foods are praised for the healthiness and curative properties. It is something which many who consume these items where they are common comestibles get taken for granted.
Thanks, I was wondering about that. I was also wondering about the one where they tried gravy and biscuits, I guess that was beef sausage in the gravy. Or maybe even vegetarian.
This is for the doctor himself! I know your claims of medicinal qualities are always given with the disclaimer that you are not a board licensed doctor. BUT. All I know, is when I’m sick with flu or other illness that upsets my stomach. A good BLT always sits well in my stomach and gives me the strength to get out of bed! Love the videos! Prayers and respect from Boston in America! Thank you for all the joy you folks bring to my life. So much fun to watch you eat what we eat! Now I want to eat what you eat! It’s considered disrespectful here to invite yourself to someone else’s home. So I’ll just say this. If I’m ever invited. I would not be unhappy! ❤️
a few years back, one of the primary food magazines in the US featured a sandwich issue, and tallied the votes that consumers had made, and the last page was reserved for the winner -- for the best sandwich, hands down. and it was, of course, the BLT. salty bacon, crispy lettuce, sweet tomato, smoky from the griddle, and tangy mayo -- it has all the tastes and textures a favorite sandwich should have. that's why it's been my favorite since i was a little girl.
What's better though a BLT or a BLT Club? Personally I'd go with a single stack BLT not the towering club because it always seemed that the "club" was just an excuse excuse to throw more bread on to fill you up. Give me single stack but add a double portion of bacon and tomato... single portion of lettuce will do if only because it is not about flavor really but texture, the tomato and bacon is doing all the heavy lifting for taste in this one.
@@verisimilitudeteller ya, i'd go for the single in a heartbeat. clubs are good, but the only other sandwich that could approach a BLT for flavor and texture is a fine grilled cheese (especially with a dip of bull's eye regular barbecue sauce). ... dammit. now i'm hungry again.😶🌫
I think it's really the quality of the tomatoes that make the sandwich. Fresh from the garden still warm from the sun Cherokee purple tomatoes for the win.
Us westerners could learn a lot from you beautiful people like being thankful and thoughtful for what you receive . You are healthy in some of the best ways !
I love your channel and I really enjoy watching all of you eating new foods and trying unfamiliar things. But most of all I love sharing a few moment each day with all of you. I have even begun thanking God each day before I eat something, as you all do. And I never get tired or bored when you are on my screen, even when I watch six of your videos in a row. That is because I like you all so much, and I care about you. I wish that I knew each of your names. Even though you are from similar villages you all seem so different from one another. Each one of you has a different and wonderfully individual personality. First, one of you (the one with the closely trimmed white beard and small grey mustache) is soft-spoken, intelligent, serious, and very thoughtful and deliberate, with kind and penetrating eyes - you seem like you are a caring father of a few older children, most of them daughters - and you are also a Good Man. Another one of you (the very thin man with the glasses) is a bit louder as well as very smart and funny, using your hands a lot when you talk, waving them around and joking with us (the UA-cam audience) on the other side of the camera, always smiling and praising the food for its health benefits and how it makes men stronger, and then you offer us a taste of your meal right before you laugh and yank the food away from us because of course you cannot hand your food to us, we aren't really there: - I think that you are the oldest person of everyone on the show, (and you probably weigh the least too, but your big personality makes you seem tall) - and I think that maybe you are a doctor or some sort of health and nutrition person - but whatever your job is I am certain of one thing: you are a Comedian. Then there is the large burly man (with the plump cheeks and the big black mustache) - you slowly taste and analyze every bite of your food before you decide which dishes from your village are similar to the foreign food that you are eating on the show and which village-dishes are different (and then you mention Roti and Curry and Biryani a until my mouth waters to eat all three of them); plus you are the man who speaks the most about your family and your village, making me believe that you are married and have many children - and that you take your responsibilities very seriously even though you love to have fun. And finally there is the smaller man with the darker skin, (the one who always has such a big smile on your face that your eyes squint almost all the way closed); - you seem very sweet and kind and polite, and you are always happy with your life, - plus you also love the foreign food you eat and how spicy food is hard on the stomach - and so you admire western cooking, (then you also speak about Roti and curry), and you are very humble and I am certain that you love your mother very much (and you might even be taking care of her) - and you seem to appreciate how lucky you are to be on this delightful adventure that is this UA-cam video channel. ALL OF YOU ARE WONDERFUL TO WATCH. - I look forward to seeing more of every one of you. Keep up the good work (and try some Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza one day). Yours Sincerely ; Eric
Oh my goodness! I don't know if other countries have their own version of the BLT, but here in the US, a homemade, "homegrown" BLT is considered a real Summertime treat. It's not like you can't make them at home or order them out at a restaurant all throughout the year, but for my family and many of the people I know, we tend to wait to make them at home until the mid to late part of Summer when home grown tomatoes and sweet corn are at their peak. Our first BLT supper of the season is always accompanied by buttered sweet corn and macaroni or potato salad. We often have a plate of sliced fresh garden cucumber with a bit of vinegar, thinly sliced onion and salt and pepper, too. And fresh homemade sweet tea, of course! (I grew up in the South) Oh my! My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I'm so glad they liked the BLT's as much as they did! And just so y'all know, our prices for beef, turkey and pork bacon are running between $8 and $15 USD per pound. (16 oz) right now in my area of the country. Sadly, food prices around the globe are soaring.
A BLT made with tomatoes at the peak of ripeness right out of the garden is a treasure. The ones you make the rest of the year are always really good, but that fresh, fully ripened on the vine tomato makes the sandwich so much better.
Bacon is usually pork but anyone can cook beef the exact same way and it will taste very similar. It is the fatty belly of the animal. It is cured (rubbed in salt and sugar and left refrigerator for one week), then rinsed with water, then smoked until about half cooked. Then it is sliced very thin and cooked in a hot pan on both flat sides. It is at first chewy, then firm, then crispy, then slightly burned as it cooks in the pan, and everyone has their favorite way. Crispy works best in a BLT because if it is chewy the sandwich will fall apart. When the guys are taking each bite the bacon is flavoring the tomato and lettuce (salad) with sugar, salt, smoke, and fat. The mayonnaise (cream) is a fatty spread that allows all these flavors to combine on your tongue. The bread can be bland or strongly flavored, and you can make tiny BLTs on crackers, in a bowl with toast cubes, or even on roti, although naan would be better.
When I was a child and did all my chores my mom would give me a couple dollars for candy. She was shocked one time when I returned home with a pack of bacon and a loaf of white bread. I ate that entire pack and loaf in a single day, it was a turning point in my life and I ended up eating so much meat and vegetables I’ll bet I’m two inches taller than if I had eaten the candy instead.
Love them ! They are insightful and witty, watching them makes me more appreciative of the things I’d taken for granted for so long. Thank you for all the inspiration theses videos give me ! ❤❤❤
Love how the one guy (striped shirt, modest white turban, glasses) who always speaks about health benefits zoomed right in on how delicious AND HEALTHFUL the LETTUCE is! So sweet, so knowledgeable. I've got to learn his name and send him a thank-you card.

I use turkey bacon. I never had this sandwich until I was pregnant 8yrs ago. I made one a day at 12am throughout my entire 2nd trimester. Now I think I may have one today lol 😄😄
@@gerikinnaman6755 Hi Geri, FYI, tomatoes taste much better if kept unrefrigerated. Especially fresh-from-the-farm type in summer should be kept out on the counter or a sunny windowsill to retain the sweetness and flavor. Probably not so critical this time of year with store-bought tomatoes, since they are often gas-"ripened" green or underripe tomatoes that have already been in cold storage anyway. But, summer's coming, and your yummy BLT will thank you!😉😋👍
The first time I heard of this sandwich I didn't think it would be so good. But once you try the first one, you are hooked. It doesn't seem like much but they are very tasty.
LOL - My mouth is watering after watching this video. This is a family favorite and now I am going to have to get the ingredients for my own sandwich. 😄
I believe that I suggested BLT's. If so, I am honored. When my homegrown tomatoes are perfectly ripe, it's BLT time. My mother would make cream of potato soup and BLT's. A simple yet great meal. Enjoy
Dang it, I was just saying I want to make my Granddad’s potato bacon soup 🤤! Great to see such a response from a simple meal. I like the 'club sandwich' style of serving in US/Canada. In a pinch I love simple cheese on toast in the oven, with a thin slice of tomato.
Them eating a real BLT sandwich would be one of the most difficult things for them to make and eat. It would mean them acquiring pork products in a muslim country and then having to abandon their religion and culture by consuming pork.
I love you guys! We live in different countries but we are much the same, I love that. Bismillah........ I learned that from you men, bless your hearts! 🙂

actually it is the third world that has the most obese people and unhealthiest people. what makes people fat in the first world is lack of exercise. People eating nothing but mcdonalds stop being obese
Well. Not really. There are specific groups who are fattest and unhealtiest. But look at people in Italy or Spain, they eat a home cooked meal for each meal..
You’re right but they’re some of the unhealthiest while also being some of the fittest people out there and I’m sure that’s what they mean. Not just average but extremely fit also more commonly than almost everywhere else.
I have noticed that some of the dishes they try are usually made with pork, but I know that Muslims do not eat anything with pork, so what they're given are substitutes. For many years I have wondered why bacon is always pork and not beef. Well, a few years ago I happened to discover that my local supermarket did have beef bacon. It tasted exactly the same. But I haven't seen it sold the last 8 years or so. I'll have to ask why because my husband and I love BLTs but are trying to cut down on pork. I know that pork isn't snuck into their food. Their religion and health options are well respected.
Here in the UK Dave... We also love our BLT's... We also have what we call a BEST Sandwich... This is a hot sandwich and BEST stands for... Bacon... Egg... Sausage... Tomato... All cooked in a frying pan and once cooked... It's ingredients are then placed on a large Burger style Bun before being served... They can range in size... From a small bun sandwich... All the way up to an extra large nine inch giant bun... Which will usually contain Four rashers of Bacon... Four Sausages... Four Fried Eggs... And Two Sliced Fried Tomatoes... The key to a really great BLT is a ripe tomato from your garden bursting with juice and flavor. One of summers simple pleasures. But, I'm confused isn't Pakistan a Muslim country where pork is forbidden to eat?
I completely disagree. Bacon and mayo is the salt and fat component. Most important part is the bread (how its toasted) tomato, and if you’re extra, the avocado. The bread and produce vary way more than mayo or bacon.
It's interesting how our taste buds can vary. I guess we never know exactly how something tastes to someone else. That's why some will love cilantro and others will hate it. Same for many foods we don't all agree on. 😊

BLT's are wonderful and I make them often. Definitely one of America's favorite sandwiches. I've never seen "beef bacon" however. I understand the Islamic prohibition against pork, but if such an item as beef bacon existed, I'm surprised that I've never seen it here in Texas. I would like to try that myself. I have watched a few of these, I am amazed how exited they are about our regular food. Food makes people happy we should eat more together. World would be a much better place. I have made sure my boy always has a home cooked meal at least 4-5 times a week.
It amazes me the difference between a culture where meat and rich foods are available in abundance and the culture of these men, who have slightly simpler foods. We would say all the things they say are healthy are unhealthy, here in the U.S., but it is simply the abundance in which we consume them that is unhealthy.
Just take a moment to appreciate that there is bacon they can have. Even 20 years ago or so, it was pretty much pork bacon or no bacon. Now everyone can enjoy bacon. No matter your dietary restrictions, there is a bacon for you.
Its tge smoky flavor combined with the lettuce and tomato and importantly the mayonnaise that gives the unique flavor of the BLT. I’m glad a substitute could be had for them so they can enjoy it too.
These gentlemen are a breath of fresh air. They give Westerners far more credit than we deserve in general for eating selectively and to stay healthy when most of us eat so much processed unhealthy food.
Tahir has some interesting ideas about nutrition. Lettuce and apples contain between 2-3% of the recommended daily allowance of iron. Brother needs to up his iron intake (and general nutritional education) if he doesn't want to get anemia. Also -- if Chaudhury wants his beef sliced that thin, tell him to freeze it about 30 minutes before slicing. With a sharp knife, it'll just shave off.
I like the fact, that even if bacon is defined as smoked salted pork belly, it's still possible to make a worthy substitute, so You can also be able to discover the BLT 😄
Take notice... the "bacon" is made from beef. I'm sure the channel would never give pork to one of Islam. Beef based bacon is very tasty and is very much like the pork version.
Are they all allowed to eat pork? Or did some of the bacon get replaced with another type of meat? Update: Oh, they did indeed make bacon of other meats when needed. Very good! :)

Yes, I’m sure that everything these folks are given to eat is halal, so I knew the bacon couldn’t possibly be pork. Cool to learn that beef bacon exists. I’ve only heard of pork, turkey, and whatever the heck vegan bacon is.
Somebody needs to tell these fine gentlemen that their diet of curried vegetables, roti and rice is much healthier than the Standard American Diet full of processed food. I'd like to try beef bacon but we don't have it in my city.
I live in the Midwest and beef and turkey bacon are always available in the bacon, breakfast sausage and ham section at our markets. Both beef and turkey are ok. Just a bit different in texture but pretty close in taste to the pork.
Yeah, I don't know where they got this impression that the Western diet is "healthy". That Westerners are all fit and only eat healthy foods. Nothing could be further from the truth. I guess if you based your perception on american movie stars, or commercials for "fat free" products etc.. where everyone is fit. you may get a false impression.
@@greenbluemonkey ~ I wonder if they’re thinking that solely based on the variety of foods?? Surely our diet is seemingly more diverse, which I presume could be considered “more healthy?” Idk.

I love nihari, Pakistan's national dish because it is extremely greasy, I mean pure saturated animal fat, not healthy olive oil. Dipping paratha (fried bread) in nihari is divine due to it being so fatty.

@@momofchampions7293 Sausage gravy and biscuits is made with crumbled pork sausage. It's the interplay of the fatty pork and white gravy that make this dish so luscious and comforting (and decadent).

(I grew up in the South)
Oh my!
The bread can be bland or strongly flavored, and you can make tiny BLTs on crackers, in a bowl with toast cubes, or even on roti, although naan would be better.
even vegan bacon i eat tastes fantastic. Turkey when i ate meat was actually my favourite

@@samuraidoggy Really???!! goodness me!!! I make a unfortunate error and you jump to the conclusion I “Hate” one!! Wow!! No room for thought in your delicate head bless you 😂
For you and your delicateness I’ve changed it to “Four” instead of “three”. There better now? 😂😂😂
Glad to hear it's beef bacon. Respecting other cultures is definitely part of the charm of this channel.
Yes, I’m sure that everything these folks are given to eat is halal, so I knew the bacon couldn’t possibly be pork. Cool to learn that beef bacon exists. I’ve only heard of pork, turkey, and whatever the heck vegan bacon is.
bro the owner of the channel is muslim as well, its pakistan a muslim country ofc they will serve halal, its not america
Somebody needs to tell these fine gentlemen that their diet of curried vegetables, roti and rice is much healthier than the Standard American Diet full of processed food. I'd like to try beef bacon but we don't have it in my city.
Wow, Not even in Wal Mart?
Pakistani cuisine is heavily meat based. Grilled meats are not healthy. Ghee is not healthy either. These people are skinny are because they are poor.
I love nihari, Pakistan's national dish because it is extremely greasy, I mean pure saturated animal fat, not healthy olive oil. Dipping paratha (fried bread) in nihari is divine due to it being so fatty.
Also the Sir speaking about the health of the food is so smart. I also like how he looks at food as the energy and health our bodies need. I do not look at food that way so it's been very nice to see that perspective.
My favorite sandwich, but I've added an egg to it over the years (actually a long time ago... around 1980). It's now a BELT sandwich in my home.
I didn't even know there was beef bacon
I didn’t actually know that either!!!!
Actually it is called breakfast beef. Have to order it from a smokehouse or processor. More like ham than bacon to me.
They need to try some good 'ol fashioned sausage gravy with biscuits.
they cant eat it and you know damn well an alternative "sausage" would never do the dish justice. if only they could eat pork.
And also that other US southern comfort-food classic _chicken and dumplings!_ both are soooo 😋💓
@@justaguy7714 lol im sure they are not missing out on pork and beef or any other meat would replace the bacon. They would be happy with it.
@@momofchampions7293 Sausage gravy and biscuits is made with crumbled pork sausage. It's the interplay of the fatty pork and white gravy that make this dish so luscious and comforting (and decadent). I'm not sure there's a substitute meat that could capture that feeling adequately. I suppose beef would come closest, but then maybe you'd end up with something like creamed chipped beef on toast (aka SOS, or s--t on a shingle, as it was called during WWII and/or the Korean conflict).
@@patriciamorgan6545 I cannot eat any mammal meat due to allergies. But they make turkey breakfast sausage that will make perfectly acceptable gravy for biscuits.
The purest moment of my day! Thank you ❤️
I love these videos. It's awesome in how they experience food like this. It's something we Americans take for granted. These gentlemen are really great at what the are doing 👏
Now I am craving a thick BLT. There used to be this delicatessen that made BLTs and used generous amounts of bacon that you had a hard time getting your mouth over the sandwich. Oh my gosh, so delicious. Love how pure their reactions are!
