My respects man! The punchy boxer always willing to bring tons of power an torque at mid range. It’s even impressive how well its sounds near the red line.
Respect to the guy on the Honda and respect to you too it's only in your video have seen someone handling an adventure bike like sports bike respect 🙏🙏
Brought back many happy memories. The ring is an exciting track that can catch you out quite easily especially on what you think is a sunny day and a light shower has dampened the just one part of the surface and boy does it bring on a twitch. After more than 150 laps, over many years, 2024 will be my last visit but no longer at those speeds, my reactions are not as quick as they once were. I have enjoyed pushing the GS through those bends so many times and watching this and other videos I still remember the lines but I guess a sighting lap would be useful even so before my last lap. Thanks for the video, most enjoyable.
I own a transalp and seeing what's possible gives me confidence on my own bike. Funnily enough it does not feel like a 21-18 front rear setup and is actually quite planted in corners. I've touched pegs before which is simply ridiculous on an adv bike of all things.
Fantastic example of how to do it, would love to behind you gaining more confidence on leaning. Fantastic to watch you and hear you going to follow you, and hopefully have more of his content.
Thanks! I'm turning over a new page on the channel, and aiming to take it seriously in 2024. I will also be instructing on the Doc Scholl course again.
Same here.... but i think the power on the Transalp is enought and you get a new bike.. otherweis on the 1250 you will get around 40 50 tkm at the same price..
Amazing video! Congratulations!! For me the best bikes and best choices in both segments. Excellent driving and handling with caution. Thank you for offering us a little of what we like most. Good curves, always safe driving and a big hug 🙏✌️
Have fun! I'm writing a guide to lapping the Nurburgring in 2024 this month, and will upload it before the season begins. If you're serious, booking for Motorrad Action and Doc Scholl are both open now. I instruct on the Doc's course. Both are road-legal bikes only, but both are private events, no cars allowed.
As long as you're wearing 'motorcycle' gear, it's OK. Jeans with armour and kevlar, for example. Personally, I'd wear the best kit you have. TF sessions can be terribly dangerous, especially for first-time visitors.
As ever, nice riding and a pleasure to watch sitting at my desk with a nice cuppa 👍👍 Did I hear right that you did the lap with luggage on the GS? Good to know if I ever get there on my 1250 I can take my sandwiches with me!
Hey there mate, I've got a TA as well and live fairly close to the Nürburgring! I've driven 20+ laps by car but none by motorcycle so I was wondering whether you'd like to meet up for a guided lap of sorts?! I'd appreciate it, perhaps we could even time the lap BTG for all those wondering how fastly the TA goes around the Nürburgring?! Cheers!
Sorry to be the wet flannel... Timing a lap on your first lap, and even thinking it would be demonstrative of what that bike could do around here... well, that's not my recommendation! If you see me up there, say hi! But I only go up if it's quiet, rarely at weekends or holidays
@@btgmotoHi, thanks for your response! You're right, a first guided lap would rather serve as to get an idea of the track by motorcycle and perhaps a reference point for future laps! Could still be worth it though because I fear most of my reference points I know from going by car for braking, turning in won't quite work, not to mention lean angle... Anyway, I'd be glad to see you there ✌🏽
What the fuck is he doing..😂 Never thought I’d be watching a track day on a Transalp. One day I’d love to make it over there for a few very average laps.. Great riding fellas x
@@btgmoto so have fun with your crashs there... or maybe your to old to see how dangerous it is 4 motorcycles....my 450 ccm stands in the garage, the grüne hölle ist nur was für autos, schorf.
@@helmutkoohl8652 I've lived and worked here for nearly 20 years, the cars and their oil spills make it more dangerous for the bikes. I've raced N24 five times, won my class in VLN several times, I like cars and bikes. But I get sick of people saying 'ban the bikes', because it's the easiest answer for their brain to compute. Bring back bike-only TF, allow more bike-only training events, that's what I say

Them boys were riding hard! :)
and likely the stock horror suspension too. Courageous !
Masterclass of circuit knowledge and care for others. Respect to you. You made it look so easy fella.
Thanks!

I’m still on a 2011 R1200 GS and this video has convinced me I need the 1250. Good grief, that shifting is immediate and sounds so freaking smooth.
It's pretty smooth, IMO. The torque is the big difference from 1250 to 1200
More proof that, whatever it is, if it's got an engine frame and wheels, it can never be called boring. Fantastic stuff.
I just love all motorcycles. It's a curse

Many reviewers say it is the best road handling ADV bike.
I am waiting to get my 2024 in a few days once the dealer gets it.
It's a good bike, but I did go Tuareg in the end...
Being so fast and so smooth in the meantime … just big respect from a GS rider from Holland ! 😅
I've been a fan since your PB days. Its been awesome to see you back on two wheels!

Great video! Very secure ride, little traffic and amazing performance by the transalp riders! 👌
Thanks!
Love the sound of the big boxer! Great riding also 🙂
Thanks mate!
as a Transalp owner, with a friend that owns a beemer I approve 😁😆

Nice coaching. I live 1.5 hour from the circuit. Maybe will give it a try with my tuned k1600gt
Flash the ECM with USA dyno shop tuning and it will be faster than your GS, it will get the the TA 750 engine up to 106 crank hp with K&N air filter.
Loved hearing the BMW sounded great. The TA did well. Change the rear suspension unit, then the only limit is the tyres and may be BHP.
The TA can definitely benefit from better suspension. I think it has enough power tho
I really enjoyed that. Great commentary! :)
Thank you very much, and thanks for the sub!
This is awesome - plan to take my Hyper to the ring next year 👍🏻

Little bit worse, maybe. They were good for off-road, and also the Autobahn
Curious if you need full leathers to get on, or if you can sneak a cheeky lap or three in riding jeans and a touring jacket.

Shift and brake assist are so awesome
The systems on the GS really are top notch
Best thing ever.
Thanks!
That’s very impressive, serious question- why the panniers?
I just wanted a photo of the GS, knee-down, pannier-down... both panniers were scuffed, but nobody got the photo
Those scratches were from the side pegs or from the engine crash bars?
From the pegs here. Bars and cylinders have already been scraped tho
Honda forever
Too much fun!
So much, I'm worried they'll ban it
Is this miles p h or kmph
IF it's miles.. Then it's way more than what i need..
Haha imagine a 200mph adventure bike! Nah, don't worry, it's KMH. The GS hits about 135mph at the top end.
Thanks @@btgmoto

Yeah, they didn't let me ride the Honda. I'm still waiting to try one :(
but what the hell has a motorbike to do on this course? i better drive with porsche, therefore the ring was built.

How embarrassing for the Porsche driver to be overtaken so easily by an ADV bike.
