    Hi Bruce! It’s nice to see you again. Would you please do a video (or point me to one) that shows how you set the shape of tha “V” that you just stitched. It’s got more shape than just a V and I struggle with shapes like that

    Hi Bruce that was a good demo there. I would like to see you show us how sewing closely alongside raised areas is done, eg. a belt with a ridge in the middle and stitches on both sides...I hope you understand what I'm trying to say..

    Hi Bruce, my name is Gareth & I live in Darwin Australia. I used to hand sew my leather dog leads, harnesses & collars until I suffered a stroke in 2019. I was an engineer prior to my stroke, but I really enjoy leather work. I am still rehabilitating & am awaiting delivery of a leather sewing machine which my wife will help me use. On some of your videos, I see you sew your leather to another material - what is that please ? Where can I obtain some of the patterns that you refer to on the videos? Thanks, Gareth

    Monster machine. So cool. Do you do anything about the foot tracks like with an embossing tool or just live with them? Thanks.

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  4 роки тому +1

      I just leave the tracks alone most of the time. One thing I do is hammer the stitches down and this make the tracks lighter. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Very nice job there Bruce, I have the same machine as you, I notice you have an open front on the foot, did you modify it yourself or is it a custom order from Hightex?
    Thanks for your time.

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  4 роки тому

      After I first got the machine I realized I would be able to sew straighter if I could see the groove so I called Bob and he sent me this open toe pressure foot.

    Did you put a wax or lube where the thread goes through right before it goes into the needle? Kinda looks white grease or wax.

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  4 роки тому

      I had just oiled the machine before I started sewing. The thread is dry but does leave a little fuzz around the shuttle.

      I think you can get a replacement pressure foot with an open toe or modify a closed toe by re shaping the front. My pressure foot came from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines and it appears to be modified. I think Weaver Leather has pressure feet listed in their catalog.
