You're welcome
Darn good demo - nice being able to see everything so clearly with great close up shots!! Thanks for explaining everything so clearly and allowing the rest if us to see how you do your work. Some people seem to think if they keep all of their information to themselves, it makes them more money or keeps all of their "little secrets" and I think the opposite actually happens, sharing the info seems to help us all!
Thank you so much for watching this video and commenting... Thanks!
what a beast of a sewing machine ,, its great
Thank you so much for the video, so hard to find leather machine videos from master craftsmen, great video, please do more
thanks bruce.. I finely got a teacher bud shaw to help me with leather work and he went and passed away on me bummer thankyou for the lesson I got 2 important things from you thanks very much again buffy..............
Thanks Bruce, I've watched all the videos on the CB 4500 and mine arrives tomorrow. I think my leather work is really going to get a great kick off. Over the last year, I had gotten to making all easy item because hand stitching had gotten pretty difficult. I have guitar straps and computer bags that had been waiting on me to bite the bullet and buy the machine. You convinced me. I know that saddle stitching will never go away, but those long Gussets stitching session are soon to get better.
Ron, Congratulations on getting a CB4500 Cowboy leather sewing machine I know you are going to love it and it will really help you up the production with great results. Bruce
I learn so much from your videos. Thank you so much!
I have the Techsew version of your machine and the servo motor doesn’t make that kinda racquet, I do have a speed reducer in the drive train. Regardless they are great machines! Thanks for your instruction, I explained in minutes what took me hours to figure out in reality.
Watching your saddle skirt video I am beginning to understand the work that your motor is doing!🥵Phew.
I have a new servo motor in the box that will be silent but I've used this servo so long I have gotten used to it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
That Is a bad ass machine!
Thank you Bruce great video.
Very good thanks
Most welcome
I love that machine as well as your instruction.

Gracias a los que hacen sus vídeos. Lamentablemente no entiendo en inglés las descripciones técnicas. sólo Puedo darme cuenta por lo que veo. Gracias.
Bruce, thanks for sharing. Great video. I would like to ask if you have a video on chap making. If not do you have plans to do so? thanks again Albert
Was disappointed that with the title of this video, you only showed one sewing machine. Kind of misleading. However, I did enjoy this video.
why don`t you thinning the leather in the buckle area. Thanks anyway for sharing.
*****
Gee, a work of art.
Thank You
Would prefer the cowboy sewing machine over the C26 from springfield leather?
I am aware of the Cobra and it is an awesome machine my brother has two and my daughter has one they are great. My cowboy is trouble free so I guess I'll keep it....
çok güzel
Love watching your instructional videos! Thanks for sharing!
I noticed you have a Webb amp under your workbench. Only two guys I know use those - you play fiddle or steel?
Lambs Music My Dad was a steel guitar player and he passed away in 2009 and left me an my brothers his equipment. I ended up with a Mullins double neck steel and several amplifiers. I donated the Mullins and a Nashville 1000 to Dave Alexander for his recording studio I figured that would be the best place for it. My son ended up with the other steel guitar it is a Zumsteel I think he and my grandson might eventually learn how to play it. I cant believe you new that was a Webb amp in my video. I have a Silvertone lap steel that I am going to learn how to play very soon. Thanks for your comment. Bruce Cheaney
***** Haha! Yeah, I recognized that thing right away. My dad is a steel player and we have a music store in Fort Worth where we buy, sell and repair steel guitars and amplifiers. I've really enjoyed your videos. I'm wanting to get started in building some straps and other leather pieces. How do you like your Cowboy sewing machine?
Great video - I enjoyed seeing a leather sewing machine in operation. Also, the lapel mic has greatly improved the sound quality of your video's. What camera are you shooting with? Thanks,
that is one big dog - are you sure it is not a horse collar?
Do you think you could have a go at making a leather archery quiver
hi Bruce, thanks for the wonderful video! I noticed you back tacked a couple of stitches at the end, do you use a round point needle or a leather point needle? I've heard that the leather point needle can severe the thread as it's sharp when back tacking. do you have any recommendations?
Point needle, I very seldom have trouble with severing the stitches when I back up two or three stitches. Thanks for asking. Bruce
Gostaria de saber o valor da máquina
Bruce, we are wanting to make leather dog collars. Would you recommend the Cowboy sewing machine to start our with? What other brands would you say are pretty good industrial sewing machines that a beginner would enjoy. We are only going to make dog collars with it. Thanks and love your videos:)
I would go with the Cowboy or Cobra either one will be fine. I did a review and have contact information about leather sewing machines at Leathercraft Max leathercraftmax.com/leather-sewing-machine-reviews/ Thank You for watching my UA-cam videos. Bruce
Hey Bruce,
1st of all many thanks for taking the time to load all these videos you have created in order to unselfishly pass on your talents & educate us ... I spend hours watching your vids ...
I watched you do a review with your brother Phillip using the Cobra & I noticed a question posed to you in the comments section asking about your preference of either Cowboy or Cobra & you stated you liked the Cowboy better ... I understand this comes down to a matter of personal preference as these 2 machines are almost identical excluding brand name motors & servos but I am intrigued as to what makes the Cowboy your particular choice ... I have been researching the 2 & I must say I was leaning toward the Cobra with a particular dealer but found it was driven by a 600 watt motor & $1,000 more as opposed to a 750 watt in the Cowboy & then having found you like the Cowboy is kind of a selling point in my opinion ... can't seem to find a negative comment anywhere about either of them ... cheers from down under ...
Bruce, have you used the stirrup or holster plate attachments on your CB4500? Very little info on the use of these optional attachments for the CB4500.
Yes I have used the stirrup plate. All you have to do is take the regular plate off and put the stirrup plate on with two screws and it's ready to go. It works very well no problems with timing or anything like that. Bruce
Do you have to adjust the height of the feed dog or change the foot?
That was Great Bruce ! I've been hand sewing leather for 40 years, part time. I just retired from my day job, so I will be doing my leather work full time. I make belts, dog collars wallets, cases etc. I'm looking to purchase a sewing machine to sew these products. What machine do you recommend ? For about $1,500.00 .
Here is a phone number for Toledo Industrial sewing machines where I got
my machine you might call Bob and talk to him about a machine mine is a
CB4500 and I think a CB3500 will work for you... 866-362-7397
Thank you Bruce.
I just bought the Cowboy 3200 and it does anything i'll ever make, I decided on it after watching Mr. Cheaney videos, it was around $1,500.00
I always have difficulties in slowing the speed. Is this the default speed of your machine, or you did some modification?
This machine has a servo motor which allows you to really slow down and stitch in the groove.
Just curious, do you use the same thread for hand sewing items? What a machine! Sounds like a beast, not something I could afford tho. ATB Louise
Louise, The thread I use on this machine is different but I suppose it would actually work for hand sewing leather. Bruce
Thank you very much for the video, I really liked it, I am waiting for new videos. Tell me, what is the name of the sewing machine?
Cowboy CB4500 leather sewing machine from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines ltd. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Bruce, do you know of a portable machine with a walking foot that will sew belt leather without too much motor strain?
+Sword Fish I do not know of one.
What were the main reasons you chose the Cowboy 4500 over the Cobra class 4? I have A Juki 1508N upholstery machine that will sew some leather but looking for one to handle thicker layers.
The Cobra was not available at the time I needed an leather sewing machine. Go with the Cobra.
Thanks for the video! I was wondering what you used for a lining?
Great video, what model machine is that and about how much.. I've been hand stitching for years.. it time for a machine!!!
Keith Lanzon Thank You, My machine is a Cowboy CB4500 purchased from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines LTD. phone number 419-380-8540
I wonder how you can make this machine works slowly. i would like to know about it. I have 1 machine and it's super fast . I cant do anything :(
+Dung Trần My leather sewing machine has a Servo motor on it that allows me to sew very slow. I got my machine from Bob at Toledo Industrial Sewing Machine Company. Phone number 1-866-362-7397
+Bruce Cheaney how come all the phone numbers are different of the same company , perhaps different departments. Thanks
Bruce, how long did it take you to train in this craft? Absolutely excellent by the way!!
+1Lotusflower I have been doing this all my life basically. I was raised in my Mom and Dads saddle shop here in Gainesville texas.
I will be 64 in the next few of weeks. Thanks for asking. Bruce
+Bruce Cheaney You are adept at this, great craft to have mastered!
Powerful Machine. How can i get one?
Is it waxed or anything like that, because I have a Ferdinand bull 900b and I had problems with finding the right type of thread
Not waxed that i know of. Texas thread makes some good thread.
I want to buy havy duty sewing machine for havy duty leather I want it second hand with good condition
will you say what thread and needle size you are using? Thank you
Polyester white size 346 and size 200 needle on medium thickness and extra heavy leather size 230 needle.
Bruce I have been looking at these machines - what is the model of this machine? Thanks!
muffntuf My leather sewing machine is a CB 4500 I got from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines LTD. Phone Number 866-362-7397

Very Interesting,
Hello Bruce Do you Have Any Idea How Much This Machine Worth? Thank you
Andres Alcaraz Andres, I think in the $2500.00 to $2700.00 range. I got my machine from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines LTD. Phone number 866-362-7397 Thank for asking. Bruce
Bruce what type of thread do you use and is it nylon or polyester? ????
Size 346 white polyester with a 200 needle or 230 for extra thick leather.
is this the type of machine you use for making fur hats and gloves?
This machine is to heavy duty for that, I would check into a lighter duty machine.
Bruce
Where can I buy this machine?
Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines LTD
what is the full name ( type and number ) of this sewing machine
i want to buy the same one
Cowboy CB4500 from Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines LTD. Toledo Ohio.
Do you use nylon or polyester thread for dog collars? thanks
Noahs Ark I use polyester white 346 and I get it from Weaver Leather Company, Mt. Hope, Ohio.
Thanks, I have both nylon and polyester in saddleweight but just wondered your preference. My machine was made by Union Shoe Patch, the head is identical to Pearson. I have the option of using the treadles if both hands are needed.
Is there a sewing machine you recommend for someone like myself that's new to leather work thank will see thick leather but won't break the bank account?
Not that I know of they are pretty much expensive but will last many years and you can make money with them.
hi,
just see your leather sewing machine its great professional product can you send me details by mail with prices and made also thanks
+muhammad nadeem Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines. www.tolindsewmach.com/

What kind of threat do you use ? ;)
Polyester white size 346
Thanks 😉
Do u have contact info.. If send me that way love the work and iam looking to get a collar for a pitbull n Corso
I think your stitches are to small. Making too many perferations in the leather.
+Alison M Watch ...he's beed doing this all his life. he said that you can slow this machine down, that you can adjust the tension and the length of the stitching too, and it doesn't sew slow and he said that it can go faster, but that hes using it slower etc...I guess you didn't hear all that.
Six to the inch was the old style and still looks the neatest in my opinion.
Great video! How much for a machine like that?
I am not sure now but here is a link to the company I purchased my Cowboy CB-4500 from www.tolindsewmach.com/ Thanks for watching!
Is there a machine that's not made in China?
campbell-randall.com/
difficult to find much nowadays thats not made there.............
I have 3 Campbells and 3 Union Lockstitch machines . All over 100 years old ish. Believe me there is a lot of setting up and complex maintenance involved with these machines though.
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
