- Dodge's updated Charger delivers the unique styling and "tough guy" muscle car looks. The best part is you don't even necessarily need the V8 engine anymore, although we would recommend going with the new 8AT if you decide to go with the V6.

I don't see any issues with the 3.6. It's sexy and will be easier on the wallet for gas. The car is a panty dropper with either engine.
You're not a dealer mechanic having to repeatedly replace cracked heads and blown head gaskets in that FIAT V6 engine.
And really, this white Charger reminds me a whole lot too much of my '03 Intrepid. Same profile and the rear end is really similar.
This vehicle is NOT in the same market segment as the Toyota Avalon - Toyota's stepping stone to Lexus.

For those looking for the v6 SE version, they can come with the 8-speed if you look around. It feels quicker, and has better gas mileage.

Put the factory spoiler on it. Makes quite a difference.

Maserati Ghibli 3.6 uses a modified Dodge pentastar 3.6, the same engine used in the Dodge Charger , 300, Challenger. Adding a Turbo increases its top speed to 176 mph, yet the engine can still return over 30 mpg. I love really smart engineering. Add a Turbo or a Supercharger and the dodge 3.6 puts out over 450 hp yet still retains 30+ mpg, I like to drive cars not listen to them, if i want music I turn the radio on, Micheal your a Idiot still thinking that cubic inch Horse power is king ...its not

Hi Shelby, yes, it's a great first car because you get the strong engine with the practicality of the charger being a commuter car. Great space as well. I have lots of friends who drive it on a daily basis on they are very happy.

I picked up a 2013 charger SE model a little over a week ago. Man what a nice comfortable ride. It is heavy, but like he said the 3.6 has some get up and go. If your in the market, do yourself a favor and just go test drive one.

Mostly, the blame can be attributed to the wide gearing of the 5AT. It takes the engine out of the meat of its power-band with each shift.

@James Stevenson.... The car isnt being revved from an absolute cold start..... look at the gauges when he starts the car.... the car is already up to temp.

Same thing. He's referring to the fact that the Chrysler Pentastar V6 is the standardized powerplant for most Chrysler brands, including Jeep, Dodge,and Chryslar.
I get how these muscle cars are avaliable with V8s and V6s. But first, I don't get why they even offer the V8/V6 in the first place. It ruins the whole muscle car theme, you either get a practical daily driver or a powerful weekend toy. That can't be mixed! Good video

the motor they put in this thing, with some mods, can pretty much leave any other car in its class in the dirt. The state i live in uses the same model for their poice cruisers. And i have to say, do NOT under estimate this. This engine is in the same realm if not above the 3800 (3.8) V6. It sounds great when you lay into it, when you are puttin around town it has an ECO mode. Which is nice. Because lets face it, at a dead stop 2 tons is a lot of car for a 6 cylinder.
I would get the V8, this car looks great, sounds great, is great.

My aunt has this car with the 8AT and the big screen in the center console. Its a nice car, especially compared to the last gen.. however one thing: I dont find the dashboard to be soft-touch, but does have a nice graining.

If you find a decent used dodge charger either year 11 or 12 the price can vary from $9,000-18,000 !!

My dad had a Dodge Charger SE has a rental car don,t know if it was a 2011 or a 2012 he rent it back in March when my dad old 2009 Audi A5 when in the body shop the week before he got his new 2012 Audi A6 he did not enjoy it very much we it drove very well but he did not like the inside he said it look like that things were falling apart in the inside

Well the Base Charger the interior quality is not good but the higher trims the RT and SRT8 the interior quality is very good well my dad test drove 2 Chrysler 300,s a V6 Limted with the 8 speed the dealer that he went to first were out of the V8,s then we went to a other dealer to test drive the V8 he drove the S not the SRT but the S with the 5 speed both of those were good he enjoy driveing them

the 3.5L V6 did come in the 5 speed auto models. Only on certain year models.

Very great has not giveing us problems since we got it at the end of August of last year well it was had to get they had to go to indeaphis to get since they were not many arould the dealshop it has 200 miles when we got now it has over 13,000 miles on it now my dads Audi A6 is doing fine too last friday it had it,s first service work done to it so it,s all good for the winter back in April we got the all new 2012 Volkswagen Bettle for my sister she loves it it,s her very first car

Funny you say that, I'm tempted to go from a mustang to a charger. My biggest gripes though are if and when I gotta replace the alternator and the battery. Stinkin Mopar puts the battery behind the passenger side or driver's side tire. And it's really annoying when you need to jump start them and can't get a solid connection to direct battery contact.

I have a 2012 Charger SE.... it has the 3.6 liter V6 with the 8 speed automatic transmission..... Well as we all know... MPG for any vehicle is going to vary of course depending on who's driving and the conditions. That being said... i believe more times than not i'm averaging roughly 22-25 mpg overall (city/hwy combined)... of course i'm definitely one to gun it from time to time....i will say this though.... on the highway at a conservative 60-65mph.... i've actually had the car running at about 38MPG.... which is really nice on long trips...(my wife drove it from Virginia to Kansas when we moved and having to follow me in the moving truck.... she was restricted to going only as fast as i was which was roughly 65mph on average) Of course the terrain will obviously play a major factor...(we didnt get 38mpg going through the mountains and such).. but on relatively flat highway stretches... the charger can most certainly hit at least 35mpg easily and providing the conditions are right can get high 30's for mpg.... hope that helps a little.
My mom and dad have one and with 15 dollars u can fill it up to half the tank or more but also depends what gas u put in it but it can go 2-4 days without needing

And both of them that he drove were AWD my mom and my dad they both love AWD cars my mom last year in Augest got a 2011 Toyota Venza V6 AWD he trade in her 2004 Volvo XC90 watch was AWD too her very first car was Subaru they she had 3 Minvans first a 1990 Dodge Carvan then a 1995 or 96 Chryser Town and Country then a 2000 Toyota Sienna then she got her 2004 Volvo XC90 then last year it was starting to give us problems so now she has her 2011 Toyota Venza her Toyoya that her 3th AWD Car
