That amp is VERY loud! Did you use an attenuator? Or just cranked it up and went for the tone? I guess a Dimension C pedal would add even more 80's flavor than the CE5.
yes I have, the amp settings are exactly as shown in the video. I love the combination of the SD-1 and the drive of the amp, the SD-1 really pushes the amp hard and brings that snarl to the tone.
Hey man, great tones you’re getting 🎸. Just following up from our other chat. So you have this amp going into captor x, using the cab simulator and all that that comes with the captor, but what are you hearing on your end in the room? What type of speaker are you using in the room? Are you using studio monitors ? Does what you hear in the room sound pretty much exactly like what is being recorded directly? Just curious about how this kind of set up would work in a home playing environment. I have a kemper and have slash profiles and while what I hear through my monitor or cab sounds very good, it just doesn’t sound like that growling barking tone you got in your slash tone video. I’m just curious if it only sounds that great recorded vs in the room at lower volume ? If so I guess this type of thing would not be worth it for me. Thanks 🎸👍🏼
@@slashtrio I don't use what comes with the captor, I use York Audio IRs and the Celestion Speakermixpro software. I don't like the two notes wall of sound that comes with the captor to be honest. I play through regular studio monitors, you can use Yamahas, Rokit it depends on your preference, you can use headphones, it's up to you..The tone comes from the combination of amp+ guitar+ cab... it's the right amp settings + the right cab + a good Gibson LP... which is basically what Slash uses, but I think it's important to EQ the amp the way he does, Slash's tone is very mid rangey with screaming high mids, also he doesn't use too much gain, so that's all part of the process.
@@guitarlair thanks for all the info man. I appreciate it. I didn’t really consider you could things like this. My typical set up is a kemper profiler amp (digital ) going through a Yamaha THR10 modeler amp, with them amp on flat mode, which basically turns it into studio monitors (doesn’t color the sound much). When I got the kemper I originally also got Yamaha studio monitors but thought that the kemper sounded way better coming out of the THR10. I also have a powered kemper cab for more amp in the room vibes. But it sounds like I can achieve a similar thing with an actually tube amp head, attenuation, and my THR10. I also have great headphones but I don’t tend to like using headphones that much. Regarding slash tone, I have long been down that rabbit hole ha. While I like that tone I also like the less harsh plexi tones and stuff as well for playing blues and stuff, and the slash tone can be a bit harsh. But I love the way the real amps get that raw growl man. Here is a link of my playing slash type stuff with the kemper. And yea, I also love LPs and have a few too many ! ua-cam.com/video/M5aR0zZcLks/v-deo.htmlsi=tnveDDr2zwjWe6KT
@@slashtrio you channel is cool bro, very good lessons on licks, nice tone too. I agree with you in regards of Slash's tone, I love his tone but it only works for him, it's a very unique tone but it's very harsh sometimes if you want to play smth else, I'd rather go for a more Zakk Wylde/ Sykes type of tone instead.
Sounds like Whitesnake's 87 album tone, its killer
@@erikthered9670 thanks buddy!! Sykes’ 87 tone is amazing!!!
Only that was a Boogie coliseum on that album
@@jameswoynilko7962 plugged in a Marshall cab
love it, funny as soon as the clip starts i was like "thats a les paul"
haha true, the LP + Marshall combination is very distinguishable.
hell yeah! it reminds me a lot Motley Crue's sound somehow
@@FreesassOfficial thanks man!! This amp is super versatile!!

Thanks for commenting bro! I cranked the amp and used the Torpedo Captor straight into Celestion DSRs from SpeakerMix Pro.
GREAT sounds! Could you share your SD-1 settings?
thanks buddy!! SD1 settings are: Level all the way up, Tone at 1 o'clock and drive at 9 o'clock.
Have you jumped inputs on this? The SD-1 is amazing, works so well with EL34s the asymmetrical clipping gives a real edge to the tone

This sounds phenomenal, is it double tracked?
@@chandlerclement1365 thanks buddy!! Yes it is, panned 100% R/L … I’ve also quad tracked a few songs with it and it sounds HUGE!!!
is it just with a phone camera? if so, thats badass!!!
no bro, it's connected to IR's
@@guitarlair what IR loader did you use?

How’s adding time based and mod effects in the loop? I always thought non master amps wouldn’t have great loops but yours sounding good
Yeh my sv20h if I've got too much going on in the loop it sounds a little messy.
I think it sounds good, I don't use too many effects in the loop, just reverb, chorus and delay, they all sound great!!
Is speaker mix pro worth it ? This sounds great, but is really better than IR ? Suhr reactive load ?
I think it is worth it… it sounds more organic than other IRS, just download the trial version and try it out, I think you’ll like it!!

Very great sound!! wich setting did you use in Ce5?
thanks buddy, I usually use the CE5 in the loop of the amp, settings are also very basic, level, rate and depth almost at 1o clock all 3.
