Well, I got the update from Carobota and put on a USB drive. Updated it this morning before work and it failed. The message said that either the USB or the files were at fault. Everything was in Chinese and I nearly had a breakdown getting stuff straight again. Tried it again when I got home, nearly same result. I'm not messing with it again. I get the impression there's not many people on Carobota's support team, hence it's hard to get any support. Also, nome of the rear buttons on my steering wheel work, can't swipe the drive modes. Oh well, still very please with my J Pro and K1.
@@only4jeeps571 yes, finally got a short video on how to reset to English, don’t think I will attempt another update on the K1. I’ve seen other Android devices ‘bricked’ by updates and I don’t want to have my K1 rendered useless. Updates on the K1 should be as simple as updating an iPhone or any other Android device.
@@only4jeeps571 finally got the K1 head unit installed and i used Google find my device to lock the K1 head unit (secure device) works Great. When I start up the Jeep enter in PW and all good. When the vehicle is powered off and turned back on again U will have to enter in PW just a good layer of security 🙌👍
Hey there, so I have a after market subwoofer and amp. After installing my K1 radio the sound sounds cheap and the sun is not that loud. How can I adjust it.

Hmm not off the top of my head. I’ve heard this to be a common issue recently and I’m not sure why I’m sorry to hear as I don’t have android. Did you have apple set up first? Only thing I can think of it reinstalling the app. If you have Instagram, message me there I may have another update
Also my Bluetooth isn’t saving my contacts into the device. It works great with CarPlay but I never can use normal Bluetooth cause it says device disconnects each time
Bluetooth does the same for me. Only work around is to run wired CarPlay and eliminated wireless CarPlay:/ as far as internet goes, I don’t run a SIM card so I’m not sure how to fix that:/
Hi, got a question l, I have a jk looking to upgrade my radio head unit I like the look of the k1 but no one has mentioned the audio, how does it sound music wise vs the stock. I am torn between the k1 and the kenwood exceleron 1057. The look of the k1 after install is very nice but I am pretty sure the kenwood is better for audio. Do you know the specs on the k1 for the audio, power per channel
I’m not sure the exact specs anymore.. I had the alpine speaker upgrade in my jk, and this made it sound better than stock. However, I can almost guarantee kenwood will sound better. Everything other after market head unit I’ve used has been kenwood. If I did not have the k1, that is what I would do.

Just got done installing this today, in a manual tranny jeep, no back up camera working, and nothing on the steering wheel controls work at all check all connections and seem all plugged in right, any insight?

Correct, You are able to change launchers with the old nav button. It’s a little bit of a process but it’s a few clicks to do it. I don’t know what else if anything can go there. I have only found launchers can. I can send you a pm video via instagram

I have heard of people having this issue yes. I had to pull the wires and reset it all and then it worked. Rkay.254 figured out all camera issues and can walk you through anything. He can even wire full 360 Tesla view for it
@@only4jeeps571 .. I did get a response from Carobotor on this. They do have a issue with K1 on Standard transmission . Carobotor sent me a simple wire change to correct the issue. Will try it out in the morning.

Hi all, I went around to all the major service providers to find a sim that would work with the K1 (Vir, ATT, Boost, Cricket, ect.). But when I gave them the IMEI they said it would not work with the unit. I know I could use hotspot, but if there were any tips out there on what service provider works, I would be open to your insight. I did have an extra hmm. laying around so I am using that, for now, to have wifi in the vehicle, then I hotspot from that. I didn't want to hotspot from my phone all the time, especially for long trips.
Good question! I do not run hotspots or any provider as I have unlimited data. However I can sure dig around and see what I can find for you! Let me ask around!!
5:30 Google maps don't hold a candle to Gaia maps. I see it is on the main screen. If you subscribe you can get so much more than Google offers if you are off road frequently. Other Gaia subscribers upload campsites and routes as can you. It is amazing to plan a trip.

I decided to buy the Batman camera after exhausting all efforts on getting my standard camera to work. What back up camera settings do you have set on the K1 for the Batman camera?
When they are available I believe they will be able to be flashed onto the headunit updated. My other assumption is through wifi/internet. The Jpro is updated via files from what I understand but the K1 may be different. Too early to know or tell.. thinking it’ll be a year or so before the company can gather data to correct issues
Just did updated with a flash. Only fixed a flicker issue (mine did not have one) carobotor said it’s their most updated software, however you cannot change apps yet with it unless someone has an update that will do it, please let us know what the zip is called so we can request it

After one month of having the K1 installed non of the touchscreen will work & the auto time zone page just keeps popping up & turning on & off. Any suggestions? I’m pretty bummed they have responded & I’ve waisted $700

I have not used either of those, however my stock alpine system sounds a lot better. I would still run an after market amp if you are looking to run more power speakers/ woofers

My Android Auto works with my Pixel 6, however, only wired. I have not been able to figure out how to get wireless android auto to work. My Autolink was already enabled when I got my unit. I rebooted the system, bluetooth on, hotspot connected, but no luck. Just says "waiting". I never get a prompt to enter in a code like I've seen in other videos. I'm wondering if wireless only works for iOS.

I think you are misreading the camera abilities. The 360-720 is the dpi range of camera. Basically low definition only. Mirror cam, you didn't mention but that just flips the image on a camera to orient it correctly. it is a 2 camera system. Nothing more. Mine is still in the box and i am leaning toward keeping it there. I am seeing so much negative reviews. money spent already is bad enough but buying a new dash is another $250 if I hate this thing.
I have been lucky, no issues on my end. But I can’t support the product anymore. I’ve heard all the same bad reviews, will likely do a video on it this summer when time permits. I never installed 360, just did a custom mod for the back up💪

The marketing/support should not be a third person doing it out of interest in their product. Their own info is atrocious. You mention way more than they advertise. Everyone talks about firmware updates. I bought directly from them and there is no mention of support on their site. Sad because the thing is dripping with potential but I'm not sure they're going to get there. I have the dash too. I will install it. My stock one is just ugly (call of duty edition). I would love the interaction but I am going with stinger. Four cameras and talked going to eight. Thanks for the reply.

Heat has not been an issue, but I haven’t mustered up the stones to get it wet.. I’d say no go on water

Yes if you run hotspot, it will have full internet capabilities. The other way is to have a portable wifi, home wifi, or have a sim to plug into it!

where did you mount the backup camera and does it block your view with the tire in the way?
Mounted mine on the roof. That’s about the best you’re going to be able to do.
