    have been a full time dealer now for 12+ years, one mistake everybody does is to cherry pick the listing of high value items first and shortly you end up with a load of lower priced items awaiting, best to just pick a box and do it no matter what unless your waiting for other items to bundle them together, also concentrate upon the business not the youtube content as the most successful ebay sellers dont do you tube as they are onto the selling and listing more

      This! Brilliant comment! We’ve been selling on eBay since 2010, done very few videos most reels on tiktok. More for our own amusement than anything 😅
      Social media definitely takes a back seat when serious selling!

    Good luck. You seem to be off to a good start. Remember to factor in the eBay selling fees, as most youtubers skim over that and they are a big chunk of expense.

    Nice video man, always impressed when people take the plunge full time I'm still on the fence plodding a long part time. For the Chromebook I wouldn't use all that CEX credit for it, I got mine off market place for £50 just an Acer CP311 was the model. Nothing fancy just made sure it had a USB for my printer and it's been spot on. I tend to use my CEX credit just to buy retro games that are CIB and they move super fast and easy listings. Start banking them drafts as well, I know you've got loads of stock now but whilst you've got the motivation better to have a draft bank of 100 listings scheduled out for the next 10 days just to remove that pressure. Good luck man looking forward to the progress 😊

    • @TOMS_TAT
      @TOMS_TAT  11 місяців тому

      Cheers for the tips! To be honest i think i can get a Chromebook from CEX for about £60 I'd only need to trade in 2x ps4 controllers that cost me £1 each to buy it! And then the rest I can spend on retro games aha

    • @eddster
      @eddster 11 місяців тому +1

      @@TOMS_TAT If it's only £60 may as well do that, you made it sound like you were spending £300 on one in the video and we all know how CEX charge crazy extra for that "2 year warranty" haha. You've inspired me to go make friends with my local tip now gonna head down tomorrow with a case of beers see if I can befriend someone haha

    • @TOMS_TAT
      @TOMS_TAT  11 місяців тому

      @@eddster yea you can get chromebooks really cheap. The rest of the vouchers I'll just save up for other stuff.
      And it's unlikely to turn up and get a tip contact unless you already know them personally. They might think your from the council or something. Lots of tips dont allow the employees to take stuff. Which is silly as it will only end up in a land fill.

    Hey I'm not a full time reseller myself. Full time job and part time seller. But with more listings I'm at 300 active listings . With doing sell similar when something may not sell within the month it helps with my daily listings. Or if not able to find much decent stock. So can in theory do 10 listings a day. 5 fresh ones created and 5 sell similar . If that makes sense.

    Get your SKU system up on a spreadsheet. I recently sold a ladies top and didn’t have the SKU number recorded on the listing. But I had put the date. All I did was go onto the spreadsheet. Search for the date it was listed. And lucky I recovered the SKU number on the spreadsheet. Otherwise shipping would have been delayed.

    I have a Couple of questions, if you wouldn’t mind answering…..
    1 - How long does it take before you can start listing more than 10 items a month on eBay? I had a list of things to sell a year or so ago & I was only able to do 10 items a month I think it was.
    2 - you show the items under the desk that are “not for eBay”/car boot stuff or stuff you thought would do well but hasn’t. Is there a particular item you thought would do well that hasn’t? & is there items you came across randomly that did well surprisingly & now you always pick them up when you see them?
    I’m seriously considering giving it another go (selling on eBay).

      I was going to get a label printer but then Royal Mail introduced the qr code option to show at the post office and then they print it out so I'm not going to bother now. Heavy or large parcels gets picked up and they bring the label. You have a great set up already and I agree that you need a good sku system from the start. I'm always reorganising my boxes so I don't put a sku in the listing. I have dry wipe labels on each box with the contents written on it so I just wipe it off when its sold. That parcel you wrapped I would have cut down in the corners and refolded using a ruler to bend the sides over. You wouldn't need to add as much filler and takes up less space in your bag. I don't drive so the smaller the parcel the better for me. I get all my boxes from various shops, I use the card board trays that most tinned food come on to send books and small items I just put one over the other and the put it in a mailing bag. Pot noodle trays are great for filler and protection I use loads of them!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Tom i'm new to your channel but watching with great interest, with the CEX stuff, how are you making money if you are only trading in for vouchers? Because I assume you have to spend these vouchers at CEX.

    • @TOMS_TAT
      @TOMS_TAT  10 місяців тому

      When I started the channel I just did it for a hobby. I would use the vouchers to buy games I wanted for my collection. But now I do full time reselling most of it goes on ebay. However I do still trade some stuff into cex as they give more then I could get on ebay. Once I've built up some vouchers I can then buy a ps5 for instance, then sell that to get the vouchers worth in cash.

    be careful with vintage lego - some pieces can go for good money individually. I'd have sold the boards individually, common bricks as a joblot (perhaps by colour or type) and done my research on anything more unique (plenty of lego groups on facebook) it can be time consuming but good profit in the long run,

    While I admire the hustle and the business venture motive, I can't help but think the name "TOMS TAT" (unless it's just for your UA-cam account) is really unappealing because when I read it I automatically assume you're selling by definition anything that looks cheap, is of low quality, or in bad condition. In reality you're not doing that but the name makes you think it. I would suggest thinking up something more unique, perhaps Tom's Thrifty Treasures or Tom's Trinket Trove or Toms Treasures.
