The one thing I noted as having not been done for a potential alternate ending is full genocide basically - Kill every single npc, INCLUDING THE GHOST - Since it gets released, you can then lure it over to that pentagram thing in the house that said "if it gets out, this should banish it entirely". I'm honestly wondering if this might change the full coin ending, considering you'd realistically be just as evil at that point.

I love that if you kill the cat, it becomes a vengeful spirit that haunts you. Like I love it when games have that mechanic where if you're a jerk to innocent animals the animals eff you up. It reminds me of like ghost stories about animals haunting a person and you find out they're being haunted because that person was a jerk to the animals.

I heard the ghost humor out of context after a brief period of getting distracted, and I was worried Manly was talking about his own channel. You can't play with my emotions like that man.
Pretty fun romp here. The story isn't blowing me away, but it's got a lot of smartly hidden secrets, nice and creepy enemy designs, and a ton of hidden threats if you mess with the NPCs and I think that helps elevate this.

theres another game very similar to this one that i think he played, you like live in a cabin and have to get wood, food, and water to survive, but you also have to kill a demon that haunts the forest. i cant seem to find it though.

Keep what u doing man ,the way u play games and the way u read dialog triggers memories of when i was little, playing with my gameboy watching tv on my 20 some inch at the same time, hitting the side of the tv for better signal, playing games before microtransactions, acting out power rangers at recess, and ninja turtles , a simple time acting out fantasy getting intune with the story, life was more simplistic back then.

i think you missed something when he tells you to go up or down the stairs since why would the ghosts there do damage? you should try to go to a stairway then go running back in to touch the ritual
You know in 20 or so years time we're gonna have a lot of UA-camrs that have passed on, right? What if in the far future there are priest and exorcists digging through old youtube channels looking for the right one to subscribe to in order to quell a haunting spirit and lay them to rest? You never know.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking of Darkwoods in the comments; the mechanics and setting feel like a Oregon Trail version of the game mixed in with fresh story.
This was a really nice game. I like how you can kill the NPCs and it actually affects the game world. Also -- I don't think this was commented on, but it says that if you look in their eyes, you'll go insane. Both the shepherd (talking to ants) and even more the priest (befriending a murderous kerosene monster) are insane. ALSO Love the kitty.

COOL SWEET GAME. It has a "Secret" (but somewhat predictable) Happy Ending. You can defeat the Evil Ego. Clues from the author: "Well, since at that point you're unarmed, you have to wait for the right moment. He mocks you about hitting him with your bare hands, but maybe is not a bad idea - after all. Yeah, you could draw the rifle BUT. Actually, in that scene I decided to leave the initiative to the player. He's supposed to do something that was never explained. :D" Good luck, black_and_noir! Your game ROCKS! :)

As a noob dev, my original idea was: ok, let's make this looong game, divided into FOUR chapters... The first one will be set in a cursed forest. After five months of work I decided that, well, making games is not that easy and maybe one chapter was enough - to get started! :D
Hmm, there was one option you didn't put in the vid Manly. After allowing the ghost to follow you from the graveyard there was the hell circle in that one house. In it there was that text which stated that hell circle was the only thing to destroy the ghost or whatever. What if you killed the witch then brought over the ghost to that hell circle?
@@YamiAura As near the end of the video, the ghost actually can leave the graveyard when the witch is killed, as Manly showed. Take a look if you haven't seen that or forgot perhaps

This reminds me of Deadeus, what with the retro aesthetic, time limit, and lovecraftian elements. I don't think there's any connection, it just struck me how similar the core themes were. Maybe there's something about pixel horror + otherworldly horror.

Pretty buggy and the twist was kinda obvious, but I was a little surprised at the idea that it was all in his head. His "fictional world," and the old lady being self-aware was pretty cool.
Yeah, the game was very buggy at the beginning and the version in the video is the first one I released; it's kind of embarrassing it got so many views, because I kept fixing glitches for a couple of months. Now it's far from perfect, but since it was my very first game and I never coded anything before I feel fairly satisfied. I'm currently working on a second and more ambitious project... I hope you'll like it better! :)
