I know a lot of people are going to ask, so I'll go ahead and put it here in a pinned comment: I order my custom vinyl from Xiamen Hsd Ribbons & Co on Alibaba. I have used them for the past 4 years and adore them! Great customer service - and no, I do not get paid to say this. They can send you a sample set, but the faux leather I use is the W-03. It has a very subtle texture, is matte, and holds color quite well. It DOES have the thick, fleece backing as a lot of customs do, so you'll want to put a layer of woven interfacing on it before sewing! Xiamen Hsd Ribbons & Crafts Co: hsdribbon.en.alibaba.com/ You can tell them Georgia of Fierce Kitten Studio sent you!
Hey, girl great Idea I love making tags for my bags or any of my projects I make. Now, I have a cutting machine but it's not a Cricut. I have a scan n cut machine. Does same thing cuts everything and anything. Now, I had made many different tags for my name logo, and some worked, and some didn't. It's a working progress. Now, I happened to help my granddaughter stick flowers and Hello Kitty she loves so much on her jeans with Tru-Heat Transfer paper. It came out so super cute she washed it, and it kept very well out of the washer. Now, a light bulb turned on in my head. I said to myself wow I can make name tags with this Tru-Heat Transfer Paper, so I did. I ironed it on my bags and projects. So, far so good it works. I will try anything ones I will try this Heat transfer vinyl name tag making Wish me luck. Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays...
Another great video, Georgia!! Love the comfy look! :) I am just getting started with making bags and didn't want to go through the expense of customized tags just yet, so this is perfect!! I bought the HTVRont Auto Heat Press after watching your Emotional Baggage video and have to say that I absolutely LOVE it! I can't wait to try this! Thank you so much for all you do!
Thanks for another great tutorial. I've thought about doing this on vinyl zipper overlays. I use my Cricut to cut them out already. I think adding a logo to it would be great for some projects.
Just the thing I am looking for. That expensive pair of scissors lol cricut is finally doing something for me. Thank you so much for sharing this. I am making some new labels immediately.
I've found it pretty useful for me as of late with trying to cut out smaller pieces of bags while I work on the bigger pieces. I can get a lot of cutting done in a short period of time this way!
Great idea - I didn’t try doing this on non fraying vinyl. I have done similar on wide cross grain ribbon. And then folded over 2 cut raw edges or sewn into seam inside. I got my logo digitized for embroidery but haven’t done that yet either
Ahh nice! For the ribbon, have you tried burning the edges with a lighter? Could also use twill binding now that I think about it... soooo many possibilities that don't involve dropping $400+ on custom tags!
You look so cozy and I wouldn't have noticed sweatpants - or the lack of makeup - if you hadn't mentioned it lol I have the foil stuff for my machine, I volunteer to try it >:D
I have just recently found you. I’m trying to watch as many of your videos as possible every morning to learn more about bag making to sale at craft shows next fall. I’m an experienced sewer but a novice bag maker. When you talk about making our own tags on canvas or on any woven fabric I’m hearing it should be on the bias. Why is that? I’d welcome an answer from anyone! Thank you.
OOOOH yeah I could look into that. I have a Cricut but I don't have the special tool needed for foiling. The stuff I do for the tags I sell is actually laser engraving into a special leatherette that has a foil lining under a thin layer of faux leather.
I use HTV on faux leather. I find if you are cut close to the vinly letters you can see the imprint of the edges of the clear sheet so I keep a good border around the lettering.
@@fiercekittenz also Siser sells a silicone sheet that can be used for substrates that can’t/shouldn’t get too hot. It protects the top layer but still allows for the heat and pressure of the platens
@@rozhollywood89 did you like the silicone sheet? I didn’t get it but seen how they used it and thought this is great for vinyl and heat sensitive substrates.
I love this idea! I’ve been wanting some tags for some little pouches but I can’t buy custom at the moment. I have a couple of metal ones that say Handmade but for some reason I think saying that is pointless. 😂. I think I’ll try some cork!

On another note (from my sweat pants comment): I’m a new bag maker, and one of the struggles I am having is knowing how to choose waterproof canvas (which I haven’t used) and vinyl. I bought some vinyl (from Amazon) and really lucked out with it. Waterproof canvas looks really heavy to me-and there are several kinds. The vinyl in the big box stores can sell for a lot but when I look at the backing it doesn’t look so great. How do I know what’s good? I know that Ottertex is good stuff, but some of it is really heavy…would I use that waterproof canvas for lining, or is there some lighter version to use? Those are the sorts of things that I am wondering about, and I hate to spend a ton of money (that might be wasted) while I figure it all out! Thanks!
My mat size is 36" wide x 24" deep - I got it from a company I no longer support (Martelli Notions). They posted some really inflammatory and hateful things to their business page. Several of their influencers (myself included) immediately left the program. It's not the first time it happened, apparently :(
Hi! Question out of the subject in this video 😅 Did you have plan to release the backpack pattern we see in some of your video? I really love it, i know there is pattern base/inspiration but I see lot of awful feedback on this pattern. 😅 If your realease your all re-do version I prefered buy your 😊
Would you tell me about your heat press and do you recommend it? I want it for making handbags. I have been doing my research and I am totally confused.
Xiamen Hsd Ribbons & Crafts Co: hsdribbon.en.alibaba.com/ I've used them several times in the past and actually have an order with them that's in progress. No minimums, but bear in mind you'll pay a lot in shipping. It helps that they can cut the yardage down to 12" rolls. I specifically use their W-03 Leather texture.
Once you have the settings sorted and if you wanted to make a bunch, I would cut and weed the word, adhere the whole sheet to a similarly sized fabric, then you can cut them with a router and rotary cutter. If you into that sort of thing. I am. So I would. Also my pet peeve is thinking woman need makeup. Haven't worn it in decades. Isn't required to provide useful information.
Ooooh I'm into it alright! I actually have two lasers (a third on the way). I probably wouldn't cut the vinyl with the lasers as they aren't laser-safe. But you're right. I could have absolutely just put these all down on the vinyl and cut it out LOL!!!

I've been doing this for about a year now. On the inside, on a zipper overlay. And yes I use my cricut to cut the overlay too
WHY did I never think to use my Cricut for making tags?!?! You're clearly more caffeinated than I am, so many thanks for the idea
I use my cricut to draw my logo with a permanent marker on cork and then the Cricut cuts it. I have also digitized it for embroidery.
I do love your videos and ideas! It’s so refreshing that you don’t hold back info and everyone can try it if we feel like! Thank you Kittens!

Commenting on the sweatpants and no makeup to say who crafts in makeup and real pants?? Like, really...aren't we all in sweatpants and bare faced 👀 🤣
RIGHT? I'm mostly joking around, because I get a lot of comments on my appearance. I just delete those.
I sure know that I am. The minute I get home from work, the confy clothes go on. Why would I not be confy at home?
Or pants at all?

Thanks for the detailed tutorials they are very helpful and I love your style!! BTW you look great all natural…not everyone needs to cake their face
