Great work and beautiful wood! I make crosses with mesquite and allow worm holes, cracks and checks to show as I believe this showcases the wood's unique character. I make one piece crosses as well, but to maximize materials at times, resaw the thickness and make two piece crosses with a lap joint.
@@millsteel that’s awesome! Wormholes, cracks and checks all add to that character, in my opinion. Good for you to resaw to make two piece crosses. Well done!
Good video on making crosse. I make them perfect on a CNC , not so perfect on a bandsaw, scroll saw or jig saw. Having my own saw mill, using trees from the ranch allows me to be very flexible on sizes, styles and species. I can say that with all the off cuts from milling mesquite, pecan, hickory oak etc keeps me supplied with lots of canvas's so to speak. My smallest are 1 1/2" x 1/4" thick whike to date my largest is 30" tall and 3" thick.
@@reloadNshoot thank you very much! A CNC would be a wonderful thing. One day! Good for you to have your own mill. That is really awesome. Thanks for following along! I do appreciate it.
My husband makes clocks and uses the hangers as well, he puts self stick cork discs on the back near the bottom to make the clock hang level. If you don’t then they hang slanted
Just found your site. Love how you took it to the band saw and cut it bigger then used you router to make it Great . Thank you for being easy to to follow.
Sir, that is such a beautiful project and it looks amazing. I'm only learning and I've invested in a few Proxxon mini tools, just hope that I can follow a little of your expertise, Great video 🤝
I have some olive wood cut offs and I've been wondering what to do with it. Voila'. Thanks. I ain't selling nothing on Esty, but I do make stuff for friends.
@@georgeheredia3230 afternoon George! This is what I use. It does have a quarter inch shank though there are half-inch shanks out there that any problem. I like this bit quite a bit!

What RPM do you have your router set at? I noticed there were no burn marks.

@@themeat5053 awesome! This would be great. Olive wood is really popular with people due to the beautiful grain and honey color.
What was the router bit you use to make the edge round?
