OH! Nice :-) I am constantly amazed by the variety of colors these beautiful birds have. There are so many I've only seen in pictures. Like pure white, red, pure yellow...do you have just the one?
@@KristysBirds Yes..she was adopted or rescued from our neighbor. It was a old lady that wanted a blue bird but came home with a green. And then she dident knew it was making a mess. So she asked my mother if she wanted a bird. And we love bird and had many when i was a kid. So we adopted the bird and tamed her. Also my mother is alergic to pets. But one bird is ok for her. But we tamed the budgie and she thinks im her mate since she preens my eyes and kiss my nose and is very sticky to me :D My mother is just the 3rd wheel in this flock haha. She has plenty of toys and playgrounds and me. So she is not borred or lonley. Its a very cute and lovely bird we have.
Oh! What a precious story. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like she will always be happy and never bored with you around. They really are such social creatures. I'm so glad you were able to take her in.
I have a pair of Budgies the male just look alike of your blue Budgie and the female one is pure yellow latino ig you Don't have the colour Budgie But beside their colour their habits are all the same 😍
Ah, yes. I've never had a pure yellow. They are gorgeous, you are lucky. Are they breeding? I'd be interested to see if they have any pure yellows since the blue gene will be introduced through the male. It's fascinating to study genetics with parakeets.
I would never say all cats and birds can live together without problems. I have certainly had challenges in the past with other cats. This one has been with them through all their births and has never posed a problem. He even helps me find them if one gets in a weird spot while out flying. Supervision is key! We are in charge of their safety at all times. If a cat is use to being outside and hunting, I'd never let them near birds.
Afraid, no. Cautious, yes. The birds aren't out without supervision, and the cage setup keeps the kitties from accidentally knocking them over. I've lived with cats and birds in the same house most of my life, and what I've found is that if a cat is an outdoor cat then bringing it around inside birds is not a good idea. But, if a cat has always been an indoor cat they are much more calm around small animals. Just my experience. But in the end, we still have to take precautions.

I love how the budgies interact with one another by flying back and forth to visit. I also love their colors and funny noises they make.

Careful about the lamp, our budgies have landed in the glass fixture before and if you use the wrong type of bulb it can get very hot

I left the light on all day and just checked it. It is not hot. Barely warm. I use HID lamps, they must not carry as much heat as incandescents.
