The R2-D2 noises really caught me off guard the first time I saw this. I find it amusing how she keeps trying to prompt specific responses from the bird but half the time it responds with something completely random instead. Cute little feathery brat.
It reminds me of birdsong between birds, like improvisation given in response to what was heard.
I was like w....t.....f when I heard R2!!
You should look up the lyre bird, that thing will blow your mind
Lots of birds make that robot sound…makes you think, what are they hearing that we aren’t?
R2 D2 shiiiiiii 🙂 that sound like that whistle willy Wonka did to open the doors for little people lol
I have NEVER heard a bird mimic R2-D2 like that. That's INCREDIBLE!!!
My jaw dropped
Look up Australian lyer birds
My MIL had a printer that would make this start up noise and then whirring sounds and she kept hearing it even when she hadn’t turned it on and it was understandably freaking her out. The printer was by a window. Turns out there was a starling with a nest in the tree by that window and it was repeating that sound!
And that’s why I love birds :)
It doesn't mimic R2D2. that's where R2 got the sounds from.
I knew they could talk, but I didn’t know they could talk THAT well.
Its is not talking it is mimicking the last sound with perfect vocal range, it's insane....
@Brayden Dempsey nice copypasta
@@viktoraskovaliovas6991 it's mimicking a talk, therefore it's talking. Since you want to argue semantics.
Dude I didn't even know they could talk
@@SuperChaos002It's not trying to communicate information, so I'd argue that it's not talking but simply noise
Imagine hearing this in the middle of a forest 🤣 the bird's like a recorder!
Having watched Predator... I wouldn't be risking it! 🤣
@Brayden Dempsey the messaging pigeons could have spoken fluent English if they were taught well, but we will never know now because that species of pigeons is now extinct. Well rats! There goes that experience out the window... Now I will never be able to experience what it would be like to own a pet messaging pigeon. I guess I won't be able to teach it how to swear and cuss out everyone in the house! Oh well, parrots can do that too.
1. Buy a mimicry bird/s
2. Do nothing but say horrifying phrases such as "I see you", "tasty morsel", "found you".
3. Release into nearby forests.
4. ???
5. Profit! (And a few mentally scarred people/kids).
@Charles Jackson Intelligent humans will now know they can start training Starlings to be VERY entertaining and do R2-D2 impressions absolutely perfectly, & that is fabulous! No doubt, baby Starlings could be lovingly trained that way. Since they have much more precise, clearer "pronunciation" capabilities than most other birds, and can do perfect R2-D2 impressions, that will make one of the coolest pets there's been so far! ❤❤❤❤
"Hey Bob, let's bury the body over here..."
Friend: "Don't be ridiculous. Birds are organic beings, not government drones."
Bird (government drone): 0:33
Birds aren't real intensifies 😱
He learned that by a tv or siren LMAO
For real! lollll
I literally just posted to "Birds Aren't Real". Hello friends!
If he was a drone he wouldn't make any noise to give himself away
“Who’s my precious-“ *R2D2 noises intensify*
The bird's impression of the lady sounded more like her than she did!
incredibly spot on R2 impression
shits insane; like i know it’s real because of the birds movement and beak but i can’t believe that something so small & organic was able to recreate that chirp perfectly; life if crazy
Life is amazing they know more than we think
I've heard starlings produce some weird sounds but not this. I think they also used to imitate common cellphone ringtones 🤭
Oh my gosh, this is so adorable! And he imitated R2D2 as well!
Exactly!
@Alikethree4 The Weirdo proof?
@Alikethree4 The Weirdo you can tell it’s real by a starling bird. You can’t suddenly think it’s added by sounds in edits. First, rewatch the video and look at the feathers moving and the feathers are imitating to the sound of R2-D2. And therefore, it’s true that the starling birds can mimics anything.
@Alikethree4 The Weirdo He didn't intimidate anyone; he's too small.
@@nylasorj
I think he meant imitate?
My starlings would copy the sound the toilet made. I thought my little grandson was needlessly flushing.
LOL!
my yaco (grey parrot) loves to anticipate EVERY sound we make..
I love how it perfectly nails the R2-D2 sound but can't quite mimic the song 😂 absolutely amazing! And now I finally realise why I was always told I wasn't allowed parrots or birds that mimic. If I had one we'd just say star wars quotes to eachother all day long 🤷♂️
the R2D2 vs music thing is very interesting.
Turned into the Xiaomi ringtone..
I had a cockatiel and he would call the cat saying here kitty kitty kitty!! Then I was on a regular internet with my new boss then my bird was on my shoulder saying oooo( then the wolf whistle) then my boss bust out laughing and she didn't know these birds talk.
Ig R2D2 is easier since its really just random sounds compared to a song
Oh he can mimic that song!! He just made something new like a dj on a scratching table.
R2D2 was absolutely spot on. Beautiful bird.
I had one as a pet years ago. My cat was about to eat him on my porch. He was just a tiny baby, practically no feathers. I had feed him a very specialized diet and he thrived. He had many phrases that he loved to repeat, and would give my mother the wolf whistle when she bent over to load the dishwasher, lol. He could even whistle the French National Anthem. I named him Mr. Longnecker, as his neck would stretch out so long during feeding time as a baby. He was the smartest, tamest bird that I ever had and lived to be over 10 years old.
That’s a great experience.
Wonderful story! 😅
0:19 woman: slightly changes sentence
bird: who's my precious-- *confused robot noises*
I love how cute and scary is this, at the same time.
dude ikr lol
Just shows how humans will be panicking when we find other life forms that equal or are even smarter than us lol.
69th like, nice 👌🏻
It would be scary if it immitated scary noises
Spooky scary video , may shiver down your spine , till you shit in your pants
I keep coming back to this and it still blows my mind.
I’ve got a family of starlings living in my roof and I’m trying to train them to say things.
Put a speaker out there playing construction sounds for several months
Haha, I'd totally try to get them to imitate wacky modular synth sounds and trippy sound design stuff from my infinite collection.
If you’re in the Zeus, please get them euthanized. You can probably make friends with crows instead. Starlings kill lots of native species.
The starlings near me keep walking into the house looking for food. They nest in our house every summer as well. They make some racket.
Joe Biden is able to repeat what’s on a teleprompter fairly well, but without that aid, this starling might actually win in a debate with Joe or Fetterman.
Amazing how clear his pronounciation is and r2d2 sound is out of thisnworld
0:27 the whole lord of the rings saga
Bro 💀💀💀
And this is why some birds have been used as evidence in a court of law.
ACE ATTORNEY CASE 4 WAS ACCURATE??
@@banaba5708 Some birds can remember specific sounds, so yeah, sometimes, it happens
@@visionofsolace8961 yup. A parrot convicted a woman of murder after reciting what his owner said which was something along the lines of " *DON'T F**ING SHOOT!* "
Bird law is real
@@IHateTheFloorFrFr and that wasn’t even the first Case, apparently a mafia boss was convicted because a parrot witnessed him murder someone - the parrot was even given witness protection
It's so eerie hearing the almost-human speech coming from a bird. It sounds almost like an ai trying to talk but not quite getting it, landing the sounds of this bird DEEP into the uncanny valley, but still somehow beautiful to listen to.
I feel you
something about "whos my sweet jabby angel" lives in my mind rent free 24/7 like the ringneck parakeet with the "thank you baby! you be a good baby! OH MY GOODNESS!" god i love birds
Right! The one saying "I love you, babies" is so cute!
Wow the force is strong with this one
👍
I love how digital this bird sounds (and to a small extent, looks)
yeah, it literally sounds like one of those ancient digital recorders lmao
Well, obviously, since a monitoring device is exactly what it is. Birds aren't real.
@@byronic-heroine yes they are
@@SuperMarioParky999 That's exactly what the government wants you to believe. Open your eyes.
@@byronic-heroine put the meth and tin foil hat down, and come out with your hands up! 😂😂😂
While I find the actual mimicking to be amazing enough on its own, what I'm most interested in, especially after hearing that R2-D2, is how it is able to store those specific sound patterns so accurately in its memory! I mean, the bird managed to reproduce a very specific series of chirps and beeps, as well as capture the metallic quality of the sound! I guess birds evolved to detect and reproduce patterns of sounds as perfectly as possible, but it's still so stunning!
The bird rebooted with the r2d2 noises😭
I love it. Animals are precious, I hope we treat them better
I heard these birds can mimic lots of sounds but to mimic the r2-d2 sounds threw me off guard
My sister has some sort of a parrot that mimics the sound of her telephone ringing, her husband's voice, and the sound of a door slamming. The sound of a heavy wooden door slamming coming out of a little bird is incredible!
oh gosh a bird imitating a door slam everyday sounds horrible 😆
Imagine walking in the woods alone, and the next thing you hear is R2-D2.
I had no idea that Starlings could speak like this...Amazing!
I've got a starling in the garden who's had me utterly confused for the longest time with all the silly noises he makes. They really are amazing imitators!
The R2-D2 was a trip 😂
It's so nice to see someone loving a starling. I love the murmuration flight patterns they do together. Pure magic
Ich bin Deutsche. Aber ich hab den ganzen Tag einen Ohrwurm "Who is my precious jabby bird?"😘
0:33 birb is glitching
0:12 this was the most terrifying sound
Beautiful just beautiful bird and so smart. He imitates the talking perfectly, he is brilliant. What a nice bird this is, I am impressed. Love him ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ 🙌🙌👏👏👏👍👍
That's a great bird right there
Such an amazing bird! His R2-D2 impression blew my mind!
Smart starlings, we also have nests on the block and with chicks. They're gorgeous.
0:33 Now I know why people say birds aren't real
He has information vital to the Rebellion, that’s why he flew off.
It's so adorable when the neck feathers puff up.
Everyone going on about the R2-D2 sounds, but was that a snippet of the Queen of the Night Aria in the middle there?? Bird's got culture!
Thats a goddamn JabberJay....
Thank you for this. They are so unappreciated and maligned, ordinarily. Go, Starling!
0:29 who is my sweet jenny angel?
Bird: ascends beyond the logic of possible sounds
The R2-D2 noise is incredible
Am i the only one getting goose bumps? 😅😅 Reminds me of R2 tho. 😅
Yup. He was doing an impersonation of R2D2. Must have been exposed to the film.
These must be the birds responsible for the noises I hear when I sit outside here in the country I hear car alarms dogs barking cats meowing and people talking it must be these guys 😄💕
The r2 d2 or the dial up sounds blew my mind this bird has some serious talent
How beautiful!
Lmao! The way it's feathers and chest puffs in and out while doing the r2 sounds...

That starling's abilities are startling.
Such an incredible bird.
That’s the most precious thing I’ve seen EVER!
I didn't know that starlings had such a range of vocal sounds
Holy shit!! I had no idea Starlings could do that!!! My life is now changed.
They are closely related to mynah birds.
Simply Awesome!
We all know R2 was more than just an angel.
Hello little bird ❤❤❤ absolutely adorable 🥰🥰🥰
That is one sweet bird ❤
I absolutely love her!
That "whos my precious?" Was so sweet! What a nice bird.
Wow. It's incredible what they can achieve with their beaks. I can't even pronounce French words.
it is a damn shame how harmful these things are in most environments because they are genuinely such amazing animals
Yeah these little bastards are menaces. My county actually pays you to kill them 😂
Harmful? In what ways? I’m curious.
@@StonedNoob probably should’ve specified most areas in North America; in europe they’re fine, but in NA they’re extremely invasive and have caused a TON of damage to the environment and economy
@@Mystsprit can you be more specific about the TON of damage??
@@scrappycoco6282they take the place that can be used for nests by other birds. They eat local food which cases other species to have less of the share. They are basically taking the resources from the local territory for themselves, making it harder for other species to survive. People genuinely destroy their nests for this specific reason. It's not the bird itself, it's what they do that makes them invasive
Aw what a sweet birb 🥰
OMG...A GIFT FROM GOD ❤️
THE MIMIC!!?!
This is crazy
So precious 💞💕
The woman: who’s my sweet javi angel?
The bird: say no more. *r2d2 noises*
Jabby. Because its face is very pointy.
Omg! This is absolutely precious! Starlings and crows can speak so well! Enjoy! 😉

So clear
Quite amazing!❤
I can't stop saying my little jabby bird . My kids are looking at me like I've gone crazy 🤪

And I've heard stories about people being scared by weird voices while on their walk through the woods. I think I know what it was now. 😂
Amazing. I love Starlings but sadly don't see them as much in the UK. They are fantastic mimics, and the R2-D2 was mind blowingly good
They are everywhere in the uk!?
@@V4demon_ They might be, but not in the numbers they once were. It is really evident around where i live, and my parents. They get almost zero starlings despite them putting bird feed out daily.
@seventy4 Yeah...I didn't actually think they were red listed in the UK. Only after i made that comment I Googled it. I used to remember seeing them flying in those impressive swarms but haven't seen that in years. We do have a lot around here on my estate, but in numbers you could count with 2 hands.
@@V4demon_ It's so sad. Pesticides and grassland being built on are probably to blame for the most part. The swarms are called murmurations, amazing to watch for sure. Can't remember the last one i saw, many years ago at least.
@@doonhillaI wish there was a feasible, environmentally-sound way to transplant the starling population of the US back to the UK. I suspect that 9/10 or more would have to be culled in any case.
In the US, they kill tons of native songbirds and destroy ecosystems, and are horribly invasive.
OMG you better watch what you say to or around this bird it’s so awesome!
Someone come get they 43 year old white mom
Es absolutamente divino!! ..."io sonno docile"...🥰🥰🥰
I just love our wonderful nature I'm in something like this is just impresive
I love starlings!!!!!!!!!! That’s sooo cute 😭😭😭😭😭😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
R2... is that you?
Adorable !
That bird reminds me of the scene from terminator2 where the terminator goes to a payphone and calls john connors house and imitates his voice. 😎👍
I love how his expression makes it appear like he has one brain cell furiously bouncing around in his head finding stuff to talk about.
They have beautiful sounds
Love him!!! Miss seeing him here!@@❤
Learn something new, everyday. Who knew they could do that.....Better than a Parrot.
I wanna get one of these and just have it listen to droid noises for months so it speaks to everyone like that
