Oh, interesting. I'm unaware of any place that uses reverse osmisis to filter water. But this is great advice for the public to be aware of. Thank you for mentioning this.

I did some reading on reverse osmosis filtering. I really hope people are aware of what type of filtering their city is using. And maybe even more importantly, that we make sure we are providing full nutrition to our birdies. I just starting learning about nutritional yeast.

Awwwww! How many do you have? Mine have stopped breeding so now I'm thinking of getting a few new birds. Mine are all brothers and sisters currently.

I haven't, but they have large water bowls that they dip and splash in. I have a fountain for them but I've only seen them use it a couple of times.

@@KristysBirds my keets love being misted from a water bottle. They come to the front of the cage and want me to spritz them.

The more I learn about birds, the more I respect them as equals.

Sadly, mom and dad kicked all the eggs out of the nest. They are really smart and know when eggs are good or not. So I trust their judgment. But I was really looking forward to a new baby or two. Sorry you didn't get any either 😢

They don't play with it as much as I thought they would, but every now and then I find the rings on the floor. Does your eclectus play with it more?

@@KristysBirds I have a different thicker eyebrows ng she prefers over the thin ones. My girl takes them off the stand and throws them on the floor.

Hahahaha! That's awesome!!! Sometimes I have to turn out the lights like we're going to bed before they will go inside, rarely I have to purposely "convince" them to go inside. It's just so funny how they'll go in and out all day long, but at bedtime they're strong independent little birdies.

Samantha, honestly the biting is never more than an annoyance. The only reason one of them would ever bite is if I'm having to hold them against their will for some reason. Like if I need to trim a beak or toe nails, or if they really don't want to go back in to their cage at night. Rarely, I have to forcefully separate birds into different habitats, but even then there isn't a bite like they really want to hurt me, more a warning that they don't like what's happening. Does that make sence? The more you are in their space, just belonging there. The more you interact with them, talk, sing, hold your hands next to or near them, the less they will have a scared reaction to you. I don't put gloves on or wrap my hands in anything so they get to know and expect me. But if you have one that bites for blood and gradual hand taming hasnt wotked, I'd suggest wearing a soft leather glove to protect yourself if you have to move them.

@@Samantha779 females are normally harder to tame than males, but don't give up. A couple things I do every single day is hold my hand inside the cages, just put your hand somewhere. Always move slowly and as your bird gets use to you, move closer to her. Eventually, hold a spreg of millet in your hand and let her come to you. Also, just holding your hand on the outside of her cage helps her get use to you. Always move slowly, try to never chase her.
