    Everyone worries, no one comments on it. Heh, I'll be first. I worry about everything, paying the bills, taking care of my parents. Caring for my wife and mother in-law, her family doesn't seem to concerned. I realized last month that all this worry made my heart hurt, so I've dedicated myself to not worrying which is different from not caring. Thank you for this timely video.

      Thank you. Your comments are well timed, I have to take my wife to care for her mother. She has 8 Brothers and Sisters, only 1 sister will care for her mother so my wife goes to spend time because it calms her and it gives her sister time to rest. Even though their Mother is 90 she is strong willed and can be quite a handful. The memories she will have of the time they spend together during these days together make these trips more valuable than worry.

      +Lt Col Zodd: you can't just care without worrying. It is somewhat like grades in school - if you don't care, don't feel bad about bad grades, you will continue to get bad grades. Only when you feel bad is when things change
      You worry about your parents and bills - you want to quit your job but realize you have to work, you look up stuff online or other that will benefit your parents
      All comes from worrying

    • @ltcolzodd7579

      Maybe it is a degree of worry I am addressing. Instead of a neurotic worry that affects every area of my life I instead try to achieve a healthier "calm" concern. I would be lying if I said I no longer worried, but I have realized that sometimes there is nothing I can do except try to be ready and hope that will be enough. But that neurotic worry, who needs that? Stress, anger, a possible heart attack and what have I changed? Nothing.

    • @ramaraksha01
      @ramaraksha01 7 років тому +3

      +Lt Col Zodd: Exactly. In Hinduism the human life is seen as a chariot - the Horses are the senses - they run wild. The reins are the Manas or Heart or the Amygdala or the primitive brain. The Charioteer is the Buddhi or the Neo-Cortex & finally the Rider is the Soul
      Hinduism doesn't advice one to get off the Chariot but to CONTROL the senses
      Buddhism does help, not saying it does not, but to say stop worrying is wrong. One should worry less, so to speak, do not let the horses drive the chariot

    This was wonderful and I truly believe all of this !! I was born a major worrier!! I've succumbed to worrying my self sick literally my whole life until recently I decided I was going to try and stop! I thought about all my past worries and how worrying never helped only hurt me and caused horrible anxiety ! So I focused on being present and releasing the outcome to the universe! What will be will be! This is an ongoing practice but for the last year I've helped myself immensely and am very proud of the strides I've made! 💜😌

    For me this is to difficult. lol I have my own definition of "worry" It's the expectation of bad things happening to other people and, sometimes to ourselves. When I find myself in that frame of mind, I ask myself, "What bad thing do I expect to happen?". When I breathe and focus only on breath and let the mind do it's thing I notice I'm "Dwelling" on a negative thought that doesn't want to go away. My solution? I call a friend and never talk about that thought. Why? because "Change the thought and change your feelings". When I'm not thinking about what's bothering me, it's not bothering me. After some time on the phone laughing about something totally unrelated, my thoughts are now on that last conversation and I'm feeling happiness once again. Now I meditate on that feeling of joy. I hope this helps who reads it. Give it a try without any expectations and see if it helps in some small way. Have a beautiful day, everyone :-)

    2. Walk Away
    In Taoist philosophy, this is called "Roll Back" and it's the most powerful move in Taoist-based martial arts.

      Martial arts is about violence , right ? What about being non-violent all the time ?

    • @jabibgalt5551
      @jabibgalt5551 4 роки тому +1

      @@alainmaitre2069 I wouldn't say martial arts is about violence.
      You don't need to know about martial arts to be violent. In fact, the more submerged you are in a martial art, the less violent you become.
      Those who truly practice a martial art are the ones who will do everything in their power to avoid getting into a fight.

    I once read that: there is value in every situation but not every eye can see it. I usually tend to take action on my worries to prevent the worse case scenario from happening. A worry can help you prepare for an eventual catastrophic reality. But If I can't do a thing about it, I just meditate on it. Every situation is temporary. Worries , joy and thoughts come and go and I am the eternal observer of those changes. As long as I don't invest my emotions in the observation I am usually fine. A day will come when we won't have to worry about our earthly experiences.

    Easier said than done, of course. Worry seems to get a grip on our minds that we cannot help, it seems stronger than us, and is hard to shake off, even knowing its destructive, negative nature. To me, a worry free mind is worth far more than all the wealth I could possibly own. It can never be bought, and that is its real value; a priceless gift from the universe. It starts by us being grateful for what we have and what we are, and from there we let life guide us to wherever it intends to take us, that's if there is any such intention in the first place, or to use the old cliche, "Go with the flow."

    Worrying often stems from fears and anxiety that are deeply rooted in the subconscious. To access that subconscious mind requires a persistence that never wavers, day after day. Repetition is important. Another thing to note: we are most suggestible when our mind is in theta state, which is the transition from wakeful relaxation (alpha) to sleep (delta). So think good thoughts as you fall asleep.

      Yes live in the moment the future is a surprise. If only we could all do this and hang on to that thought. We all need to laugh more have fun at whatever we are doing even at work. Makes life much more pleasant t and not so damn complicated . People make it complicated when it's not. U do have to bend or compromise most of the time. It can't always or never does it go the way u plan perfectly. Nothing falls in a perfect lineup. It works out if u let it. Sometimes and more than usual it works out even better. It is all at once when it works it's like wow there it is. I had a day like that today. Started hopeless and ended with a big plan long term one phone call this evening. I'm so relieved.

    To me...theres a difference between worrying and worrying needlessly. Worrying in and of itself is a defense mechanism to give us something to DO...when theres nothing we can do. However, to allow worry to paralyze or interfere with other things you ARE doing.....is detrimental. So, worry if you must, but keep going.

    I feel as if I was born enlightened. And have fallen away from that every day after that. I managed to put aside a childhood filled with child abuse. I managed to vet my college degrees while being stalked by my own mother. I took a deep breath, put my head down and kept on going. No matter what, I kept faith and did not worry. However, now 20 years have passed, and so many terrible things have happened to me. To relate them here would be too long and incredible - murder, kidnapping, continued robberies(the most recent being last week). I've lost 5 cars due to vandalism, homes and businesses as I worked very hard to keep my daughter (who was kidnapped) and myself safe. My life's work as an artist, writer, teacher and musician has been stolen from me and never recovered. I am a kind, gentle, good person. I am now very ill from the stress-I worked so very hard, meditated , prayed, to understand, to not worru and to believe that it would end and I would see goodness and mercy in this world. It hasn't happened. So, I would ask Buddha-isn't this just a bit too much to ask of me?

Try telling your mind that these memories have served their purpose and should no longer have negative emotions attached to them. Memories only hurt when there are emotions lingering. You are stronger then your past self.

    The universal Law of myoho-renge-kyo represents the identity of what some now refer to as the ‘unified field of all consciousnesses’. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence, the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source.
    Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the true creator of everything that is, ever was and ever will be, right down to the minutest particles of dust, each being an individual ripple or wave. The big difference between chanting ‘Nam-myoho-renge-kyo’ (Nam is like a password to our deepest inner-self) and most conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a middle man to connect us to our state of enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves by tapping directly into it by way of self-produced sound vibration.
    On the subject of ‘what or who is God?’, when we compare the concept of ‘God’, as a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to Nichiren’s teachings, the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people call ‘God’ is our enlightenment, which exists nowhere else but within us. When the disciples asked Jesus where the Kingdom of God is, didn’t he tell them that it was within them?
    Some say that ‘God’ is an entity that can never be seen. I think that the vast amount of information that is constantly being conveyed via electromagnetic waves gives us proof of how an invisible state of what many call ‘God’ could actually exist. It’s widely known that certain data being relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects, including instant global awareness of something or mass emotional reaction. As well as many other things, it’s also common knowledge that these waves can be used to detonate a bomb or to even enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars. However, none of this is possible without a receiver to decode the information that is being transmitted. Without the receiver, the information would remain impotent. In a similar way, it’s very important for us to have our receiver switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our life, all other life and who we and all else that exists truly is.
    Chanting ‘Nam-myoho-renge-kyo’ allows us to achieve this because it lets us to reach into the core of our enlightenment and switch it on. That’s because, as I mentioned before, the sound vibration of ‘myoho-renge-kyo’ represents the combination of the three major laws that underlie all existence. ‘Myoho’ represents the Law of latency and manifestation (Nature), and consists of two alternating states. One state of ‘myo’ is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists. This includes our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them, our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re not being expressed, our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma, and more importantly, our enlightenment. The other state, ‘ho’, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes obvious to us, such as when a thought pops up from our memory, whenever we experience or express our emotions, or whenever a good or bad effect comes forth from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it simply means that it has come out of the state of ‘myo’ (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ‘ho’ (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing something.
    The second law, ‘renge’, governs and controls the functions of ‘myoho’ - ‘ren’ meaning cause and ‘ge’ meaning effect. These two laws, ‘myoho’ and ‘renge’, work together simultaneously and underlie all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination, ‘kyo’, is what allows the law ‘myoho’ to integrate with the law ‘renge’. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects together all Life and matter, as well as the past, present and future. It is often termed the Universal Law of Communication. Perhaps it could even be compared to the ‘string theory’ that some scientists now suspect exist.
    Just as our body cells, thoughts, feelings and all else are constantly fluctuating within us, everything in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux, in accordance with these three laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of ‘myo’ and ‘ho’ in a single moment than it would ever be possible for us to calculate or describe. And it doesn't matter how big, small, important or trivial anything may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now, or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of 'myoho-renge-kyo'. These three laws are also the basis of the four fundamental forces and if they didn't function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. Simply put, all forms of existence, including the seasons, day and night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation, rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two states of ‘myo’ and ‘ho’ in accordance with ‘renge’ and by way of ‘kyo’. Even stars are dying and being reborn again in accordance with the workings of ‘myoho-renge-kyo’.
    ‘Nam’ is like a password or key; it allows us to reach deep within our life and fuse with or become one with ‘myoho-renge-kyo’. On a more personal basis, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives from moment to moment, as well as our environment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth turns and rhythmically chanting ‘Nam-myoho-renge-kyo’ repeatedly for a minimum of ten minutes daily, any of us can gain actual proof of its effects in our life. By building up a force from within, it allows us to pierce through even the thickest layers of our karma and reach directly into the ultimate wisdom of our and all other life. Unlike the fantasy of a magic wand to make our problems vanish, chanting ‘Nam-myoho-renge-kyo’ awakens our innate wisdom and brings to the surface our hidden potential, a much clearer realisation and understanding of our good and bad karma, and positive ways that we can both cope with and change our negative circumstances into positive ones. It brings forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that is preventing us from accepting and being proud of who we truly are, regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexual preference. It also allows us to see and understand things outside of ourselves more clearly and, by way of the electromagnetic forces of which we are all a part, helps us to connect with, or draw towards us, any external circumstances or help that we need. Proof of this effect soon becomes obvious to anyone who chants ‘Nam-myoho-renge-kyo’ on a regular basis. Of course, the more sincerely we chant, the more powerful and faster its effect will be.

    "Stop searching for a solution"? That sounds like irresponsibility. We shouldn't let the train of life life run over us just because a solution doesn't seem possible. I will die fighting!

    When you are sitting worrying get up put on your coat and go for a walk. for some strange reason this makes the worry lighter also try and find someone to share your worries with then it gets lighter still.then look at the clock as time passes you by and tell your self there isn't much time left in life to sit and worry about it .
