Ok this was helpful but when you didn’t show yourself doing the six holes long, I got completely lost. I’m a visual learner and it was an extreme struggle trying to figure the rest out of the holes of the bridge. And honestly I don’t even think it’s 6 long because I’ve tried multiple time and it seemed like 6 long is too much for a diagonal bridge. That’s why I think it’d be really helpful to see the entire hole placement process, yeah it’ll make the video longer but I think it would be really helpful to some people.
Hey Kristen thanks so much for your input and feedback! I thought that it wouldn’t be as clear with that particular instruction but it is true. Counting diagonally 6 squares, you need to include the squares connecting to a diagonal grid space. It would of made more sense for me to include it and do it one tile at a time. I am planning a rather ambitious project and I noticed people customize a lot of stuff in games and I was wondering if you know if there is a way to do a custom bridge design? I want to replicate a real world bridge as close as possible. I am very new as I have done research and have a plan but will be starting the game for the first time later today. Any help or friendship would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
What would you recommend if you've already done construction on your island and want to basically redo the whole thing? Would you start with completely flat land, work on just one section at a time, or some other method? I feel like I made a lot of early mistakes and now it's difficult to get the layout I want (seems daunting). Love your videos and your island!!
Hi Bradley, welcome to the channel! Funny you say that, because that is what I will be doing!!!! I am making a series on island do-overs, literally going to restart my island :D I gotchu covered with a few tips here though for sure. 1. Save a tonne of bells, your aim for a restart should be 10 million. 2. Start demolishing daily, all bridges, inclines. 3. Pick up as many items and store them 4. Remaining items, clutter into a corner, preferably of the main part of land, on a beach, etc. 5. Start relocating all buildings, into one tight spot! 6. Work on the foundations of terraforming, allocating designated spaces for each permanent structure 7. Move it all back in and work on it slowly :D
I just unlocked terraforming and I've been remodeling my island and experimenting but noticed way too many "missed opportunities", one of which the annoying 1 tile space in cliffs. Is there any tips or tricks in making straight up 2 block high cliff instead of a slope (hope that make sense). I know there's a whole bunch of videos out there covering the glitches in this game but I was hoping if you have any knowledge about tips or glitches specifically for terraforming. The game limited too much imo and not enough freedom to create the exact island I envisioned, thanks.
Ahhh I see I had the same problem! Things fall into place eventually, don’t force anything into empty spaces, and don’t be afraid to remove a space if you’re not 100% happy with it! There are certain glitches you can do wit 1x1 cliff tile spaces but it often leads to other game bugs like loss of surrounding items etc so I wouldn’t recommend them!
who else thought that the whole video was perfectly edited and filmed! until that rabbit got into the background of the ending... 7:52... ( no hate this was super helpful 4 me :P)
Shadow, man for a river I reckon you’d be able to make it as large as physically possible haha. Smallest would be the same, considering whether or not you want the water to be fishable
it looks like you have a bridge on the 2nd level at the end of the video.... I am trying to get that over the creek look (with a zen bridge, of course) and haven’t been able to get that nook approval as of yet.... will give it another go tomorrow with this new found information!
I’m a little late on commenting but I was wondering if you can have more than one of each type of bridge? If I for example only want the stone bridges, is it possible to place more than one stone bridge on my island?
It's always 4 tiles wide yeah, but the length of the bridge can be 3-5 spaces of water, without the 1 space needed on each side as anchors. (min 5 spaces long, max 7 spaces long) So yes, you did make me waste time and bells, thanks a lot. At least put an edit in the comment so you don't waste anyone elses.
Is it possible to put a bridge from level 3 to level 3 without there being anything underneath on level 2? I have setup such a thing where I have kind of a ravine going on. I noticed some bridges require posts underneath while others do not seem to. So I was wondering if a certain type of bridge is applicable to this setup where it does not need posts underneath. I think it will be a neat affect if it is possible but I don't think it is. Waiting on a current bridge to be destroyed before I can get a new bridge and try it out; but not sure which bridge could possibly work in this regard. Ok so i tried it and it is not possible, the game will say something like no river for bridge to be put over.

Hey Piber! Should be possible so long as you validate the space the bridge needs! Remember I said in the video bridges need an extra tile space around the dimensions to allow traffic to access it :)
So heres the question i have raised level trying to do a diagnal bridge but its saying no river near by? Can i not make water than build up a level on both sides and then do a bridge? If so that blows
Awesome video! I didn't even know you could build diagonal bridges. I followed this tutorial and have just finished paying off my first diagonal bridge! Copied some of your landscaping because it's insanely pretty and aesthetic. Edit: Which bridges do you find look best in a vertical view? I find I would want horizontal/diagonal bridges to showcase really nice/expensive ones like the brick and zen bridges, whereas vertical would be things more plain like stone bridges.
Thanks so much!! Congrats! It is hard but its worth the time :D Personally from my perspective, vertical bridges work well with linear path setups and wide rivers on both sides. But to be honest, any bridge in any style can work, so long as you support its design with items and landscaping around it :D
Hey, I need help, Tom Nook asked me to do only one bridge, I did that, and after that, when I talk to him again, it doesnt give me the option to ask for a bridge or a incline, what should I do?!
Great content bro! Personally tho, you need to fix your editing. Going black between scenes with audio cutting in and out is a very big distraction and quite annoying. If you need help with this, lemme know!

Good, Bad, and even okay content does, but just as a helpful tip/advice: Having great content is what gets you subs and views. Editing is almost the biggest keys to success. From the time and effort you put in with each video, it’ll be worth it. Having an agenda and schedule is good, but having great quality content is what people like me look for. when are bridges actually unlocked? i got excited that Nook gave me the diy bridge card only to find out its gone after i use it to set up the first 3 villager homes. Someone please tell me when actual bridges will be unlocked, and how far away from that am i?

It is tricky. My advice is to take it one step at a time, anchor point one, outline then anchor point 2. Remove the remaining ground in the middle and check to see if it deploys, rinse and repeat, you will get it eventually!
Theres gotta be something that's not correct Louise! My best advice to you is to make one anchor point, set to deploy it, and figure out based on the silhouette it creates where you need to add/remove land. Let me know how you go!
for me it says “to place a bridge you need the river to be just the right width, and even land on either side should be even” but everything is good :(
It’s saying that as a general reminder to have the spaces I covered in the video! There must be a section of your water that isn’t measured up correctly! Just make small adjustments to get it to fit, then once it’s built you can go back and fix up further :)

Unfortunately not - but you can always build a custom bridge out of land :)

You are quite the creative my friend, but unfortunately not, one of the essential requirements for a bridge is that it requires water underneath it!

Why does the Zen bridge sometimes have extra details like the posts in the water? I have one bridge that had the posts and one that doesn't?

There will need to be standard spacing limits for a normal bridge but it should work!!

@@pandabearmadness6263 That won't work unfortunately. I wish it did, but bridges only span over rivers and not cliff edges.

when are bridges actually unlocked? i got excited that Nook gave me the diy bridge card only to find out its gone after i use it to set up the first 3 villager homes. Someone please tell me when actual bridges will be unlocked, and how far away from that am i?
Hey Mutton, you probably already have the answer to this, all styles are unlocked once Resident Services is upgraded from a tent to a building.

Just speak to Tom Nook at the Guest Services! You will need to have completed most of the main story though!

It is tricky. My advice is to take it one step at a time, anchor point one, outline then anchor point 2. Remove the remaining ground in the middle and check to see if it deploys, rinse and repeat, you will get it eventually!

You won’t be able to, but you can kind of make it look like it by making a waterfall behind a horizontal bridge!

Theres gotta be something that's not correct Louise! My best advice to you is to make one anchor point, set to deploy it, and figure out based on the silhouette it creates where you need to add/remove land. Let me know how you go!
for me it says “to place a bridge you need the river to be just the right width, and even land on either side should be even” but everything is good :(
It’s saying that as a general reminder to have the spaces I covered in the video! There must be a section of your water that isn’t measured up correctly! Just make small adjustments to get it to fit, then once it’s built you can go back and fix up further :)
