Thanks, Fr. Patrick. I didn't know that it didn't make any difference which good religion you choose so long as it's a good religion. So many Catholics are hung up on the idea that Catholicism is the one true faith.

I would espouse nothing less than a strictly objective investigation into the allegations against this guy but I have to say he doesn't strike me at all like a predator and that makes me wonder whether the accusations are legitimate.
FWIW, there was an independent investigation. Per the official statement: they made findings and reported those findings to the Province Review Board, the Board accepted those findings and unanimously recommended he be barred from public ministry and supervised by a third party.

I like Father Patrick however, being against private relations with god and not wanting to be affiliated with a group is a monopoly on religion, a monopoly on God, you are now speaking on behalf of God, this heretical and radical, he has great intentions but they are misguided.
Not necessarily, and by watching fr patts show I've been encouraged to persue it too. I know people that have a great and intimate relationship with God, but in their daily life they feel alone or feel isolated from other because they don't have a community to share how they feel God is guiding them in their path. When i started doing research into my faith and church i was so excited but i didn't have anyone to talk to, i was quarantined, no people besides my family, and they didn't want to hear it. I kept praying that God showed me a community to talk to, and i get father Pat, it's important to have your private relationship, but there's some people that take it to the extreme of making themselves the center of that relationship and start having a wrong idea. The moment I was able to share my thoughts, how I felt God was working with me, and other things happening with me, and people were able to stand with me and correct me in some things, that's where I found the perfect place
Carla Romero Faith is internal, always good hearted, religion can be something that is not internal or private that can be manipulated, I am a Catholic however not ‘practicing’ I am not completely against religion obviously but it is far more flawed than a personal relationship with god and in my opinion it is the result of most of our conflicts. To understand what religion(not faith) can do is the independence of India and the death of Ghandi, Hindus and Muslims clashed and still are, I suggest you look into it as it is interesting
You definitely need a personal relation with God IN ORDER to live finely and to hold a healthy religious community. In my personal experience, where you don't have that personal relationship (which, as Fr Patrick said well, GOOD religion sponsors) the religious community turns into some kind of kinky political club. I had to drop my parish because it was misled, always going and pushing in an "us against them" movement; and I see that in many places. Without a personal relation with God I'd probably have tought it all to be "normal". But that's not good religion, and my "skeletal structure", as Fr Tuttle said, brought me elsewhere.
@@vermontmike9800 another thing is religion dictates, what you can and cannot do with religion depending on what sect of Christianity you follow, my great uncle is a pastor and up there in some of the people that I idolize for how they live their life, he also was the pastor for my grandmothers funeral, at the same token he is extremely zealous but his faith is centered around his family mainly, something that I’ve learned over the years of observing people like him and others is that you don’t need a building to believe in something or to build community, you don’t need a choir, you don’t need banquets, all you need is people, love, and faith, whether it’s faith in god, in yourself whatever faith is a necessity in life and I don’t think I’ll ever be fully for the church, I may go to church again idk but the fact that Catholicism has made it a sin to be against the church because you are acting against gods will, that’s absurd, god didn’t say “gather in a building on Sundays and make an organization” never did he say that, so I think that with what I’ve provided, religion has become a business and it’s sad, I’m not completely against people who belong to churches as a lot of my family members do go to church and some are apart of them as far pastors etc so 🤷♂️
