As a follow up to the rescue video of the bald eagle on feb 1, 2019
( • Iced Eagle Rescue on L... ). On Sunday, February 10, 2019, Wings of Wonder invited the public to the release of this bald eagle from the Suttons Bay High School parking lot. The Grand Traverse Band drummers and singers started the event out with a beautiful spiritual song honoring this adult bald eagle. Hundreds of people, of all ages, came to witness the eagle fly free once again. The eagle flew off, towards the Lake Michigan shoreline, with grace, purpose and strength landing on a tree branch about 300 yards away. Within minutes 2 adult bald eagles appeared, soaring overhead, checking out the perched eagle. It was a glorious day indeed.

Eagle is telling stories to other eagle:"I managed to escape, they wanted to sacrifice me during the human ceremony."
Hahhaha, yeah very scary ceremony
No Eagle tells story of how human came and nurtured it back to flight..
@@ronfrey6639 Can you just stfu buzzkilla
“The guard was too shabby.”
The eagle understands the Native ceremony because they have the same religion.
That eagle is so calm, he knew he was being helped.
Exactly so.
Yeah, until he heard this ritual music... then surely he thought, he'll be a bird sacrifice! :D
The comment above yours is the complete opposite lmao😂😂
@@necromonger666 Would Micheal Jackson's "Beat It" have been more appropriate?
@@cliftongreene5318 Finally, someone understands humor! :)
Thanks for the follow up on this rescue. It's so inspirational. Having the Native American drummers there was a very special touch. We are so fortunate to have such beautiful creatures to enjoy. Thank you for what you do to ensure their well being through your rescues.
2:48 It's amazing how its legs act as counterweights to the heavy thrusts to get airborne.
A little traumatic for the eagle, I hope the release was close to home.
yeah i noticed that and it does not look normal. Is it handicapped from the frostbite ?
Its dope how the community showed up and some ppl made a drum circle.
Native Americans´ancient ritual perhaps?
Not really...the eagle should have been released as soon as the ice was off. Instead, they had to organize a trifle superstition BS crap. The eagle was probably kept days longer than it should ever should have been. Awful.
@@jamescurnutt1628 I agree, keep for a few days to monitor and band to track if not banded already then release. Ceremonious symbol or not, it’s wildlife and it needs to be out in the wild. But it’s also events like these that bring a community closer together so really more than one way to see it 🤷🏽♂️
@@jamescurnutt1628 youre better off being in captivity for a week then possibly weakened and dead in a day, like how sometimes you have to stay in the hospital for a couple days even tho the injury seemingly isnt too serious.
I feel the same way tho, but its hard to tell from a video.
@@jamescurnutt1628 No He wasnt being kept longer than needed , They found him on Februar 7th and released him on feb 10th. On the Feb 8 they managed to melt the ice .
Hallelujah and Thank you all for helping that magnificent eagle. You are blessed.
Beautiful creature...bless you people
I am amazed How calm this beautiful creature has been through this whole process of rescuing. Bald eagles can be very vicious when they want to be and their feet and Beak can do tremendous damage. This thing is smarter than I thought to allow these men and women to assist it and it's recovery. My favorite birds are owls I find them so beautiful and interesting and their eyes will trip you out. Wish I could have a sanctuary a owls. Hats off to All The Rescuers and thanks for making my day more pleasant.
@daAnder71 yeah I cringe at how our language has been altered so greatly by those who don't care. Just trying to preserve a language here is all. So...
For example:
*To, too, two.... there's a difference
*Him and me....third person ( not him and I like Halsey sings it.)
*It's me and you (not it's you and I, like Lady Gaga sings it. Because "it" is the subject, you and me is third person.) You would say "It's us." Not "it's we."
*It's between me and you...same as above.
And, of course, it's "shine brightly," not "shine bright" like Rhianna sings it.
But we know many will just want to hate on this. So sad
At any rate, beautiful bird, beautiful release.
Eagles are indeed amazing. I imagine it takes quite a bit of training for these folk to work with such formidable birds. Owls are fascinating too.
I hear you, AND English is a foreign language for me! To boot, I have a native English-speaking teacher, who constantly uses "also", "too" and "as well" together--sometimes all three of them in one sentence! Newscasters also often use "also" and "as well" in the same (short) sentences! It blows me away how English has deteriorated, and the overall level of education, IQ, in the English-speaking countries is really low, compared to elsewhere!
IAM SO HAPPY FOR THE RELEASE AND YOUR DEDICATED WORK..THANK YOU ALL
I'm so moved by this... Thank you from the bottom of my heart for stewarding and supporting our sacred bald eagles!
Beautiful. I love when people treat animals with respect and dignity. ❤

AMAZING release of a majestic GORGEOUS eagle!! Thank you for all you do!! 💞👏
What a truly beautiful and moving release. Doesn't get much better. Wonderful that so many were able to witness it in person. What an awesome creature....now has a second chance.
Majestic animal. The emblem of a Great Nation. Thank you for saving.
To all the people involved in helping one of God's beautiful creatures, thank you. 💞 This was a pleasure to watch. ☺
Bravo ❗️Awesome ❗️so moving...Can't help teary-eyed ❗️
O mine ❗️what a grand send -off party and ceremony ❗️
Well-done ❗️
Makes me so happy to see this, wish all humans would be kind to animals, they deserve it, thank you SO MUCH!!
Beautiful release. Respect to those who honor this majestic bird. I went to Farmington Bay in Utah yesterday. Saw 40-50 bald eagles. They winter in several places in our state, then journey north in the early spring.
What a blessing to have the opportunity to touch the life of such a magnificent creature. I would so love to volunteer at this place but, alas, I live in Texas. I am equally moved by the respect paid to this eagle by the Native Americans.
Thank you so much. He would have died. Such a wonder to our planet! You are the angels among us❤️
You moved me to tears. Thank for all this!
Same... It won't stop 😭🙂
May The Great Spirit soars on the wings of the mighty eagle our creators and our ancestors. aho!
The word that came to me as I watched this was, respect. Respect for the bird, respect for culture, respect for community, respect for all. Thank you.
Excellent! I am so glad to see there are people everywhere, who still care about our animals, and make the sacrifice to help them. It is not easy, nor convenient being a wildlife rehab person, and expensive too. But the rewards, such as this success, make up for all the trials and hardships. There is something especially rewarding watching an eagle, or beautiful owl, soar away again!!
"THAT" WAS SOOOO COOOL!! MAN!! LOVED IT!! "HOW TRULY, AWESOME" SOME PEOPLE ARE!! THANK YOU, FOR UR "KINDNESS & RESPECT" FOR GOD'S CREATURES!! MAY UR "LOVE" FOR THIS EAGLE BE REWARDED BY *GOD* IN UR LIVES . . .WINGS OF WONDER . . . GOD BLESS YOU!!
A wonderful set of videos! Here in the Columbia River Gorge we are blessed to have many Bald Eagles. Once after I picked my son up at his school in Mosier, we saw a eagle nail a pigeon on the playground and carry it up into a tall Pine tree where it took it apart for lunch as we watched. Another time, I was coming back from Portland Or. when one came up from the Eagle Creek fish Hatchery with a huge fish in it's talons. He worked hard for that meal! Dropped, it would have taken out a windshield.
Keith Lincicum I’ve seen an eagle steal a fish from an osprey on the Sandy River!
@@JS-yj7ow Wow that must have been a sight! thnx
One in his or her life time has the opportunity to safe another life is very fortunate. Thank you all.
Brought tears of joy to me. I'm sure the eagle was so very grateful.

Lovely release. Eagles are sacred to a lot of indigenous people so the drumming and singing were appropriate.
Beautiful song Chippewa tribe from Michigan Canada Border, free spirit like the Eagle.
Yes, wonderful indeed.
Yes! The song and the shot of the release has me smiling broadly.

The Native American singing was absolutely beautiful and so fitting, considering how sacred the eagle is in their culture. Thanks for filling us in on the tribe and the song's meaning.

Eagles are beautiful. I call them freedom.
Thank you so much for documenting this rescue and release of such a majestic bird of prey. This release video made me cry at this beautiful sight. Thanks to all involved with its whole journey of rescue, treatment and release.
Humans can be awesome to animals! I wish they put this much concern into helping each other.
Thank you for all you do
Very heartwarming, beautiful job. WELLDONE!!
Very nice to see Raptor on the Rocks free again in good health... Live long and prosper !
Thank you my fellow Michiganders.
Awesome release. Thank you for helping him
Nothing like a quiet low key non prolonged stress free release day for the fella... Great job fixin him up. But are not the noise and crowds up so close to the wild bird being paraded not a bit stressful on the creature..? it certainly was for me watching her parade it so close to crowds and noisy drum beats..It was outta there thinkin a sacrifice was due... !
I'd have fainted or had a heart attack. It seemed to work though. Bird won't be returning fast.
Shut up Ignoramus
@@dd317 that is not a very nice way to talk to yourself.
Yeah... wth was that, they stressed they bird so much it almost crashed with the wire...
the trooper but birdy almost crashed dude
All the people! so much love! Oh what we could be! Thank you for sharing this...tears of joy~ :D
Best kind of wildlife videos is seeing their freedom. Thank you for your care, patience and love for helping and healing this beautiful Eagle!
Enjoy your life, beautiful creature! 🐦💛🌲
They unlike you respect nature. A beautiful eagle was saved. 💗👍
I’m happy there’s people like you guys
I hope it was able to find it's mate. Eagles usually mate for life. You guys r heroes for saving this beautiful birds life.
Love you guys for doing this, what a majestic and beautiful animal
It’s great that soo many people showed up to see this beautiful bird released back into the wild but I personally could’ve done without the drum chant.
from one Ken to another, THANK YOU
Wonderful spirit right here ! Thank you guys
Thank you, Ken. So wonderful.
This was soooo beautiful!! You are very special people!!💝💕
I'll bet the Eagle just loved all the drumming and hollering.
Thank you. God bless you!
thank you
Thank u for everybody to save it. We have to live to live.
That was beautiful! And the drum made it perfect!! Thank you.
it greatly stressed the bird but that might be for the better. Eagle must keep wary of human for its own good.
I love the fact, so many people were invited.
What power and beauty! Thank you for caring so much about these amazing birds.
its wonderful that the American Indian tribes were involved in all this....................simply breath taking!
