You may be right. He seems to be in a beautiful pasture with other cows, staying with his mother to be nursed and loved, carefully tended and cared for by farmers who protect him from predators. The cows seem to have no fear of even strangers. That mother knew to communicate to the stranger that she needed help, and she was not going to stop him from rescuing her calf. She understood that humans care for her and she trusted him. Her calf's life was made possible by the farmers. Maybe in the end of a happy life with loving humans watching him and feeding him, and caring for him, he will be humanely slaughtered without pain or fear, as many animals raised on small family farms are. Ian Mann, the "hopeful wake up" of any farm(ed) animals may never come. The explosion of reality shows on cooking, BBQ-ing, baking, "best ribs ever", marine species preparation etc... don't help. Lobbyists and farmers have, and are fighting the proverbial tooth and nail to keep it that way. It is nice to see, that many people care but many more, don't. Sadly.

When I was little I lived on a farm with my grandparents and we had about 6 milk cows. I just loved them. My Grandpa would put me on the wood fence and tell me to hold on to the post then let the cows come into the lot. They would come right over to me and I would rub their heads. They would wait patiently for their turn. One day I fell into the lot (I was just 2) and it hurt and I started crying. All the cows backed up and started mooing as loud as they could! My Grandpa, who had not heard me crying sure heard that and came running! He used to love to tell that story about his favorite grandchild...ME! Cows are the most gentle creatures you can imagine. I had hoped but actually was quite disappointed. Why do so many people have to lie and deceive? The cow didn't just deliver that calf and it actually likely would have been better had the guy just left well enough alone. If he actually wanted to do something he should have driven to the farmers house and informed the owner of the cows as to what he saw. Just saddens me that now days so many think lying is acceptable at least in the name of money and they have no respect for other people's property.
If the electric fence wasn't there the situation might have been very different, I speak from forty years experience. A cow with calf at foot is more dangerous than a bull.
All animals can communicate one way or another, problem is they can’t speak human. It’s up to humans to listed and determine what the animal wants/needs. Alex Fernandez Sad fate for many (or most?) bovine. I think those are dairy cows. They usually keep the cows til they are used up (then to market?). The majority of the male calves of the dairy breeds are sent to be slaughtered for veal - baby beef is more tender! Very few males of the dairy breeds are kept to supply 'fluids' for artificial ensemination. So, ultimately - sadly - you are probably right. Then the human beef eaters (as well as milk and milk-product consumers) ingest all the hormones and who-knows-what that are used on those ill-fated animals to make more money/product. Man, I'm getting depressed. However, I am happy that the cow got to spend at least some time with her baby.
Ahhh. That’s sweet, the bond between a mother and her offspring. That’s tight. That man’s so kind. Does he drink milk? Who drinks cows milk? Put your hands up? Thank you. Now consider that those cows have their calves ripped away from them at a young age. Those cows get distressed and call for their “lost” calves for a long time. Enjoy your milkshakes, cheese, butter, milk etc. You’re not cruel to cows and calves, it’s those mean farmers. You are great people. So kind to animals.

Mz. Phatbaldkat and now it's tagged ready for slaughter.
Now the nice farmers will be able to fatten her up and send her to the slaughterhouse. At least she would have died peacefully laying in the sun rather than the bloodied walls of fear.
Not like the factory farms which we all hate. God made a world where there is love and humble service between humans and animals.
The looks in the eyes and the body language shows that these cows were appreciative by just stopping and looking at their rescuer.
Someone one else wrote it correctly here that animals are much smarter than we give them credit for. Thank you for saving that baby and saving the mama much heart break and pain as her breast milk swelled if her baby didn't make it.

mike- rayner-videos: this was a sweet video, but those are farm animals. They're viewed as a commodity. The calf'll be taken away from the mother soon enough so she can be impregnated again and if it's male it'll be slaughtered before its 2.
Eithne Spain take the calf away from the mother so we can drink the baby's milk. It's so unusual and sick but all we can do is educate and hope people wake up
Ian Mann, the "hopeful wake up" of any farm(ed) animals may never come.
Sadly.

The majority of the male calves of the dairy breeds are sent to be slaughtered for veal - baby beef is more tender! Very few males of the dairy breeds are kept to supply 'fluids' for artificial ensemination. So, ultimately - sadly - you are probably right. @@errolprice9654 You are making a category mistake. Humans eat animals because we're omnivore, which has absolutely no connection with wanting to hurt them unnecessarily. Using your idea you would conclude that shooting a deer dead to eat it is the same as some lunatic that zapped his pet cat repeatedly with a taser because he was bored.
Oh she definitely recognised him, that look before she walked away.
You know that calf is veal steak right? YUMMO!!
Sorry vegans!
durianrider Arent you a vegan mate? 😂
She didn't. Sorry people
Priceless 🥺🧡
Nice
This is awesome! She was trying to dig to help him out! I love how animals know that some humans are nice and will help them!
Cows are such beautiful, gentle creatures. ❤️❤️
The way Flo looked at Dave at the very end of the video was heartwarming.
I have always thought that of all the animals, cows are the most soulful. This confirms it. But they are very intelligent animals!
Probably why they are sacred in India 💗🌵
All true. This breaks my heart though because they're being farmed and they understand and fear their fate.
@@lisamariepagliei3945 exactly.
Lmao. Spend some time around the animals dude, it isn't always a nature doc.
@@bootymessiah154 Whut?
Dave, you're exactly what the world needs more of... people that give a sh!t about other creatures
WELL DONE, SIR!
@J F A clown in every bunch! Signed Texan by birth! Now F**k off.
@@Nomadistar the calf is safe for a few days until the farmer slaughters it!
Can you respect animals and eat them?
Great point... How long have you been Vegan?
@@rayvegan8587 NOT a vegan... in fact, i dont eat as many veggies as i should...
I just happen to like animals more than i like people...
animals arent assholes
Thank you Dave, makes me feel better knowing that you are out there.

I swear the Cow spoke back to you right there. Very gentle caring animals. And they serve humanity so well.
Yea, and I swear, the cow knew to show it's sh*t-stained backside to the camera as a reward for Dave. Animals are so intelligent!
That's why worship them here in India !
@@danieltadd humans too spit their shit in the comments section and they are much more intelligent than animals I think !
@@Shivamkumar-ue4hl good point
It is just a shame that a lot of humans choose to eat them. >_
