    Only problem is you have less than 10 minutes.... hypersonic missiles. And that is IF you had warning. You won't.
    And the new bombs go for hundreds of miles. The initial blast will be for 30-40 miles.

      @@dbaker5036 True. I should have explained myself better. He expressed that we need to look into establishing human colonies off the earth.

    @11:00 Radiation blocking curtains. Uh, you need to be more specific about what kind of radiation it blocks. A sheet of notebook paper blocks alphas. Your clothing does pretty well with beta. But, it takes steel, concrete, and/or water to block gammas. This is purely a radio-frequency (RF) radiation blocker. And it sucks even at that.If you live in an American stick-build home with pink fiberglas insulation, drywall, and vinyl siding, using these will do fuck-all, because RF goes straight through most walls. Even aluminum-sided, rock-wool insulated walls.

      @@qromania I don't comment unless I have reliable info. I know an expert in the field. After an air burst, which is definitely preferred, the amount of radiation will return to background levels in about two weeks. Japanese people were building houses at Hiroshima less than a year after the blast ( and living there ). A ground burst, with a crater, will be much worse, but a ground burst is understandable, militarily.

    • @Tavanos-M
      @Tavanos-M 2 місяці тому

      @@gregorymccue5003 Your expert has forgotten a basic factor, that of a multiple depression... A nuclear wave does not have a heavy impact in terms of duration, but when will it be with 10/100/1000 waves which collide and which will bounce off each other, not counting that governed by the power plants..
      Incidentally, it also depends on several factors (place of impact, surrounding area, atmospheric pressure, etc...) For Chernobyl it was supposed to last a maximum of 5 years (it's just been 40 years since), yet it's still far from be finished...
      In addition, you are told 2 weeks, this corresponds to the total duration or simply to what we call the half-life, it is 2 totally different factors....

    • @gregorymccue5003
      @gregorymccue5003 2 місяці тому

      @@Tavanos-M I find your statement difficult to understand. The 2 weeks duration does not relate to any isotope's half life, but to the time it takes for radiation levels to fall to near background levels. Two weeks is correct.

      It might be worth noting the Tardigrade (AKA Water Bear, AKA Moss Piglet) Is able to survive, yea thrive unprotected in extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme radiation, and in the vacuum of space. Studies are long under way to learn how the Tardigrade do it, but once we fully understand the biological traits that give the Tardigrade this survival ability, and the genetic coding that gives the Tardigrade these survival traits, that will open up significant possibilities of genetically engineering these survival traits into other species, enabling different plants and animals to easily survive such Armageddon just fine. A synthetic womb facility like Ecto life could be used to grow and raise populations of billions and billions of animals. Cows, chickens, pigs. Birds, rodents, lizards. Enough to populate thousands of acres of farm land and millions of large city parks. All equipped with all the super survival abilities, they need to tough it through anything and everything doomsday can throw at them.
