What a wonderfully humble and shy person in front of the camera, makes such a refreshing change from listening to the mouthy USA sprinters on the mens side.
@@trwent just to comment - in the previous years USATF has actually placed non-400m runners in the 4x400 relays pool. Examples are Sydney, Dalilah, Abby, Athing herself as well. You don't absolutely need to run 400m as US trials to make their 4x400 relay team. In 2022 Abby Steiner did not run a single individual 400m race and was on the Oregon 4x400 team.
The Sports Illustrated Curse goes beyond the magazine to their UA-cam channel..... stop with your predictions SI ... all the athletes in ALL sports will thank you.
As a highly enthusiastic fan of the effervescent Miss Mu, I hope she will be in top form in The City of Light. 🤞🤞 Shouldn't world record holder and fellow Jersey girl Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone still be considered the 'brightest' American track star? Putting aside that quibble, I hope they play "Born To Run" over the PA system in Paris if either wins a 🥇. On the subject of magazine covers, it has to be a major surprise that Athing has featured on the front page of Sports Illustrated before Vogue. 🤩🤩
The women's 800m in Paris will be one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the whole games. It is loaded with so many supremely talented athletes. Hang on to your socks, it could be one for the ages. All the best Ms Mu.
@@alexandereast4072Not with how litigious the US is. USATF would probably be bankrupted by legal fees in one Olympic cycle if they didn't go with the first three at the trials.
@@I_Evo. I agree. I remember what a Cluster Ftruck the Olympic Trials became in 2012 when Nike Inc.’s poster child Allyson Felix finished in a dead heat tie for 3rd place with Jeneba Tarmoh in the women’s 100m. Settle it on the track before the corporate sponsors and their lawyers get involved.
@@Vince-ud3ek She is but she was never her mental sharp self. Probably still dealing with her injury. It's times like this can set a spark under folks and it may seem like a long way away but at least next year we have Worlds again.

I am a big fan of Mu. She has not been competing hardly at all this year. I hope her training is going well and she gets enough competition at the trials to sharpen her for Paris. She is an extordinary athlete. Hope she brings home another gold. She will have competition from Hodginson and Moira at least at the Olympics.
She gave an interview at USA trials and said she got injured but wouldn't specify the injury. She said she is in shape and where she needs to be. Keely and Moraa will definitely be her main challengers.
SI you go this one wrong. Pretty bad for her, and the USA team. Sage also could've gone close if not for the fall. The trials system of first 3 past the post has robbed the USA team of having one of the top 3 800 M runners in the world at the Olympics. Would've have been great to see Athing, Keely and Mary in Paris.
Athing Mu is a major player and she's immensely talented; however, Noah Lyles is the brightest star and I know SI is into pushing an agendas these days (69 year old Gayle King on a swimsuit cover was laughable) but at least give the brother some kudos. He's the fastest sprinter in the world at 100m and 200m which are the most prestigious events in Track and field and yet there's no mention of him and no SI covers this year leading up to the 2024 Olympics.. That's crazy.
3:04 What a beautiful woman ! These American athletes are so beautiful ! Can't wait to cheer you up in Paris. It won't be easy though because there is a lot of competition. But I wish you good luck !
How was it sabotage? She poorly judged a cut-in and actually cut off Raevyn. If Raevyn had fell she would’ve won an appeal. There’s a reason Mu didn’t win her appeal. Also people conveniently forget that Athing tripped Nia Akins in the last trials and no one screamed “redo” or “sabotage.” Love Mu and wish her the best for next cycle, but she did not show up in top form nor race ready. This backlash just because she won THREE YRS AGO needs to stop. The top three ladies deserve their bid.
Ha, American runner when it comes to bringing the country gold. African-American, when it comes to the country's official classification of them. So comical.
She carelessly cut someone off in the finals and screwed up her chances, and those of the runners behind her who had to slow up to avoid tripping over her.
The SI Jinx continues.
I wondered if the SI Cover Jinx was still a thing. Well, it is.

I hope they bring her for 4by 400 meter relay …it was a sad day for her at this year’s trials
She did not even compete in the 400m at the trials, so I do not think that is possible.
Well she is not in the relay pool , she will be watching like the rest of us
