In today’s episode of Game Breakers, we take a look at an insane glitch in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. It’s known as the Void Glitch and can be used for a variety of things. In this case, catching Darkrai, Shaymin, Cresselia, and Infinite Arceus! It can be rather hard to do, but if you simply follow my steps, you’ll be totally fine. Enjoy, and Good Luck!

I apologize for how long this video took to come out. As I was in the middle of working on this, I moved back to college so between that, and starting classes again, I’ve been pretty busy. On top of that, this video seriously took a long time to edit. Probably my record for how long I spent working on one, so I hope you enjoy it.

It still blows my mind he we find this stuff. Like when someone’s phones is broken, they’re like “yeah you just need to hit the up volume until the screen glitches then you tap home 4 times and swipe left until it turns on.” Like what
I’ll never understand how someone discovered this glitch. The only thing I can think of is knowing a legit number of steps on the map but that also feels impossible 😂
Most likely people went into the code
The phone thing you described is most of the time just basic key combs for devs or force shutdown stuff. Almost and device has such modes and since smartphones have a limited amount of real buttons it is most of the time limited to the stuff you described
Important note : Buy escape ropes !!! If you are stuck somewhere and can't fly or can't open the menu, just try to go around until you find a cave and find in the cave area a place that allows you to open the menu then use an escape rope !

im stuck in the void but i can only walk 2 steps and then am stuck and cant walk anymore, cant open menu when in this situation, any advice?
@@benmiller9119 Im sorry, but at this point I think it is just impossible to recover your game from this. If you can't walk in any directions more than 2 steps and you can't open the menu anymore, you just can't do anything. Like, you can't even save (not that it would be helpful but still) ?

I can’t thank you enough for this video, I remember when the void glitched first came out it was like a 45 minute-hour run to get to darkrai or shaymin an it wasn’t safe at all. Amazing how fast I got to both of these Pokémon with this video. Thanks a ton dude, catching these Pokémon made me feel like a kid again

Omg thank you so much for sharing this!!! I already had cresselia from the normal method but just used this to get darkrai and shaymin and it worked!! I was so surprised but so happy haha I feel like I’m back when this game originally came out living my dream of catching these two Pokémon 💖💖

For those who wanna know, Platinum "fixed" the Void Glitch by adding invisible walls all over inside the Void, as well as making it so that even if you did get to their respective areas, Darkrai and Shaymin won't spawn unless you have both the National Dex and the Member Card or Oak's Letter in your bag.
and then BDSP brought it back, twice as broken. lol

this worked!! i had a bit of trouble with arceus so i had to soft reset from my last save point (which was the eterna city gym) a few times to catch him and safely turn the game back to normal but other than that thank you so much for this tutorial!! very helpful!!
what trouble did you have? my game crashes at when i retire at the cutscene

I remember when people had to walk thousands of units in one direction before this glitch was well know.
It was too daunting then, but this is much better.
That’s what I did it was like 20k steps and I had to do it like 8 times
Your the man! Never had a darkrai or arceus before and I just used your video to catch darkrai! Now time to catch god!
I first did the void glitch years ago when it was still pretty dangerous and messing up meant corrupted save. Last night completely out of the blue I had a dream about doing it again. Now knowing that there are safer routes I actually might.
Remember to bring a teleport or fly user when you do this. It really does suck to get lost in the void.

I went to the Darkrai event back in 2009 but it was a weird one (don’t know if it’s a UK thing) but instead of giving you access to the Island the event just straight up gave you a Darkrai. So, I tried this method and the Darkrai was in game was still available to catch!! No I’m sleeping happy with two Darkrai in one game 😂
i discovered something cool if you ever get lost!
if you get lost, use one of the maps on your poketch and find a cave... from there, use an escape rope, it should take you back to the real world and you can try again!
At 5:53 it has the wrong text above just be careful because it is actually 479 not 497
It took a hour to even spawn the void and 2 hours to catch darkai good method I recommend using a master ball if anything unless you want to get stuck with using 10 ultra balls and then end up catching it with a regular ball

I just caught Darkrai and Shaymin! Very happy, Arceus seems to difficult to get tho :/
if for some reason you can’t press “X” after soft resetting (long pokemon screen) at the pokemon centre then follow the shaymin part to get out

Omg im so glad this works. I went there as soon as possible to face darkrai and to say the least i may have jumped the gun a little too early.
when going the 430 steps up, i run into what sounds like an encounter and my game crashes at anywhere from 269 steps to 285, it seems to alternate, is this just that i have a cartridge that doesn’t work or can i do something else to fix it?
The first part of the glitch doesnt work for me I went right down up left many times completely correct but it doesn’t work please help me
when i was in elementary school my buddy told me i could get arceus and shaymin through The Mystery Zone. we were using the original action replays to just walk thru walls at the time, and me, being 10, just picked a random direction and held forward. The mystery zone was absolutely TERRIFYING as a kid, especially cuz i thought i would just get jump scared by arceus suddenly. i wrote off what my friend told me as being the equivalent of unlocking sonic in melee, and always had bad memories of getting scared and lost in the mystery zone. Turns out after all that, he was RIGHT???
A typo at 5:53: the steps required are 479 like you said and like is displayed by the Pokétch, but on top there's written "497 steps"

#1 also bring a telport and fly for if you get stuck and if you can only go 13 steps at the pokemon center after the cynthya battle just refresh graphics a few times
Dude I bought a DS so I can get my shiny Crobat (that I caught in 2010, my first ever shiny) and I was too young to understand events and never got these, thank you so much I’m grown asf playing like a boy again 😭❤️
Can these Pokemon be put into Pokemon Battle Revolution? Or is it limited just like with transfering to other gens?

On of the shinies I received from another player was a shiny void glitch darkrai
The first arceus I encountered was a shiny so I was so heart broken when you said I had to flee or else crash, I’m so sad now

I had a problem. I followed step by step for arceus but after ketchup loading (I named me getting pushed out of bounds upstairs that cuz it feels like the game trying to catch up on load times) it would only allow me to go 13 up. I then successfully got to the back, reloaded the graphics, but for some reason can't clip thru..... Game whack or I need a smack?
Anyone else get stuck trying to catch arceus when u press retire at the 332 steps
i tired getting arceus via the video retire made but unfortunately the pal park does not come up so i can't access the menu, his video was made over a year ago so would this method work because it is newer version of the glitch?
Oh hey, I remember at the time how people first managed to do this in the Japanese version of the game by surfing on the entrance door of some elite 4 rooms, and then walking around in the void. I think I managed to do some of the tweaking thing once I had my (English) copy of the game, but I don’t think I ever managed to walk around in the void (and probably wouldn’t have been willing to save in any out-of-bounds area)

Probably had a copy of Pokémon emerald. In Pokémon emerald you can clone items through a glitch and he probably sent Pokémon holding the master balls from emerald to diamond and obtained the master balls.

Wait you can ONLY transfer / trade them in diamond?? Is there another way if you got them from pearl to trade / transfer them?
I returned to the glitch and it worked somewhat, when I got to the poke center it wouldn't let me reset the graphics to glitch me inside
As a person who sucks at glitches & practiced 3 days in a row,I finally mastered the slow bike technique and once I was in the void it was smooth sailing from there. Thanks to your detailed descriptions I was able to catch Darkrai, Shaymin & Cresselia! Thank you soo much ! Thumb & Sub 🫶🏼

At 5:40, do i need to soft reset? my bumpers are broken, so can i just turn off the ds and start the game like normal?
Question, is it possible to dhiny hunt any of these pokemon? Example is Soft Reset Darkrai method or something

What amazes me the most with glitches like these is how they're discovered. Someone, somewhere had to find them by randomly walking around, measuring their steps and eventually, after days, if not weeks or even months of walking around in the void, finding one working combination.
Na, just used emulation to check how the game works and then math or do you honestly think someone walked 1 step every time and then was like “oh yeah 332 steps this seems good” lmao
@@mobious01 math? What do you think they're calculating? They didn't even know how that glitch worked, so there was nothing they could really calculate. I mean, people know what the overworld looks like, but you clearly can't take a direct route to where you want to go, so someone had to trial and error this (and math doesn't really help much there). Also, the route you take changed after a while, because someone found a shorter route, so it doesn't seem like there's something to calculate to find the best way.
Let's forget about the silly legendary pokémons. /s
Is there a video (or article) explaining all the gory/memory details? like why those paths specifically? why need to wait on the title screen sometimes? why 32 down then 1 up instead of 31 down? etc.

Got shiny darkrai after only 20 hours!!! Amazing video, I was wondering if my darkrai, shaymin and cresselia would be able to be copied over to battle revolution? I don’t want to try it incase it corrupts any data and I couldn’t find information anywhere.
You can do that without any issues
These mythicals aren't corrupt in any way, they're not glitchmon, they're just regular mythicals
When I get to the wall by the water when going to shaymin, i am unable to bring up the save menu. Any thoughts?

can they be transfered to games in the same generation? I caught darkrai and Shaymin in my pearl game and wanted to try and catch arceus in my diamond game (recently restarted the file for fun) then transfer it to heart gold to do the sinjoh ruins event and get my lvl 1 palkia/dialga/giritina (havent decided yet i love all three of them)

At 7:39 I got stuck in the void. I have no idea what I did wrong but when I soft rest the game and refreshed the graphics, I was still in the void and I couldn’t open my menu anymore.
Question: I just finished getting darkrai and shaymin but want to also get arceus, will it cause me to not be able to progress and finish the game since the glitch involves the pillar cutscene??
I know you probably already made ur decision lmao but I just tried this and it didnt mess my dialga encounter up
Sick vid dude. Sad you cannot transfer Shaymin or shiny Arceus I was thinking about soft resetting for Arceus but if you cannot transfer it it ain’t worth. Some of the coolest Pokémon in the best Pokémon game
What about darkrai?
@@rayyankhan6271 darkrai can be transferred, shiny or regular, from Diamond as long as you level it up to 50 and teach it a different move than pursuit. It must be grinded in the diamond copy it was caught on, then transferred up

Note to self: don't do this with the mom contest seen unfinished, it will corrupt save at "go down 479" by thinking that you entered the contest hall for the first time.
Actually, better yet, don't leave unnecessary cut seens unfinished
Dose this work in 2023 can I just buy the ds game and do it or dose it have to be specific ones? I saw a similar video where it was possibale in bdsp however the guy said it was only with certint cartridges so I was hopeing this would be better way?
Can you save and reset before catching Arceus? I brought only 10 great balls and I don't wanna mess up my save file for no reason xd

Hey, i was doing this until i lost all my pokemon on the first arceus fight and then me, being stupid, decided to trade pokemon from another game to help catch arceus. i left the trade zone and i am invisible in the pokemon center, menu not accessable, and i cant use the stairs. or anything. all the npcs are gone too. does anyone know how to fix this? if you do please tell me. thanks!
small correction, you can transfer the Pokemon via Pokeporter in black white 2 (only case I tested, might be possible in other ways too - yes even shaymin)

So I did it went into the void caught darkrai I didn’t have fly so I battled blacked out and went to orebourgh from there went jubilife then went to catch shaymin and I didn’t get a Pokémon with fly/teleport and now I’m stuck so before I reset my game is there a way out?
Why cant the pokemon caught in pearl be transferred to different games?
I remember there was a method where you used surf through the door of the first member of the elite 4 to get into the void. It worked for me to catch Shaymin and Darkrai. I later destroyed that safe file which was my fault. But there wasn't hour long walking or anything, it was very very easy.
Does anyone know anything about that? Why isn't that glitch used? I have a japanese version though.
Because that glitch is exclusive on the Japanese version
I tried to do the glitch but got stuck at the poke center 6:07 as i could not walk down two steps to hit the wall i could only walk down 1 and when i did the graphic reload i could not walk through the wall, any ideas why this is? I am not on Platinum i am on pokemon pearl.
having issues around step 269 on the 430 steps i keep getting stopped, also when i try to use the explorer kit i just get a black screen! using an emulator
late but at what point could you save before arceus cause every time i fail i gotta go back to before the cutscene could i save close to arceus?

So will Pokemon bank not work if those requirements aren't met? Why/How does it break? I presume it's fine trading over to other Gen IV like HG? I'd like to transfer over a Hall of Origin Arceus to later generations as it looks more impressive :)
Why is it important to wait for the Pokémon Symbol during the Glitch Correcting? I find this part of the Glitch perticularily interesting.
My game keeps crashing at 5:40 at 63 steps for some weird reason. I've been to the underground at least once so that isn't the issue...
At 6:02 I can only walk down 1 step and after resetting the graphics I cant walk through the wall.. do you have any idea how to fix this? 🤞
Never mind, I think the problem was that I reset normally and not soft reset, worked now!
I followed the video exactly but at 6:01 the pokemon center didn't show up, the nintendo wifi club did, and now I'm stuck there with no way to get out
i dont know why but after 269 steps after the 16 steps to the right soon after the poketch building i kept running into something.. maybe a trainer is there because it makes the "!" noise and then promptly crashes
i think i may have found the issue and it may be that i didn't have the pal pad at the time
Dude. So this wasn't just something that randomly happened to me, you could make this happen. I used to brag to my friends about my full pc of arceus. Traded so many.

2024, June, pkmn pearl german edition. All glitches worked fine. No save corrupt. I have got darkrai, shaymin, arceus (used 1 masterball) and triggered cresselia event. If you stuck in the void try to move to the area representing cave and use fluchseil/rope to get out
I remember running in the void for like 3 hours to get shaymin
when i get to 269 steps of the first 400, a trainer stops me and the game crashes
I got the glitch to work went into the route but as soon as I entered the building I could not get into the board but I may have been in the wrong spot when I exited out to get into the building
