Every since you released the best metroidvania games video. I have been on a binge playing these games. I started with salt and sanctuary, and bloodstained then went to Dust. An elysium tale. And then deaths gambit. Im playing blasphemous now and loving it and cant wait to try ender lilies. Thank you so much for that video. I never gave 2D games a chance and i am so happy that i did and that there is this whole new genre of games for me to explore.
The map tells you when you've collected everything out of each room. This is a design choice I've grown to appreciate from games ever since RE2 remake.
Spent 24 hours getting all 3 endings and trying to complete most rooms. Very few games make me a completionist but Ender Lilies was worth every minute.
I just got past the first boss and I have to say, the soundtrack has already nearly brought me to tears. It is absolutely haunting, solitary, and beautiful.
@@indivestor the precision and timing is. You must dodge roll and commit to combat animations like Dark Souls. Build variety and look are completely different though.
this game is just amazing! 60 hours with 2 100% playthroughs! the musik is Hauntingly captivating! the only botter is that enemies do not stagger by hits like in Salt and sanctuary. meaning they keep attacking no matter what you do. you fill a stunmeter with each attack, once full they are stunned for a while. most enemies die before that happens.
are you guys making a wiki for this? ive been checking back periodically during my play through but only found a couple articles on the site. i’m having a blast with this game, it’s the first game with really featherlight feeling combat that i’ve enjoyed this much. also incase anyone is wondering, it runs at 60 fps on switch (docked mode is more reliable) and is great on portable as there aren’t many games for souls fans on switch.
i love the theme and concept.. and art is fantastic.. i don't like metroidvanias or 2d games but ill try this.. since its a souls like too.. i wish the next one would be a full blown 3D game.. wish it had voice acting
I've been playing this on Switch, and have stopped for the time being; not because the game is bad but because I'm having a lot of fun playing it and I intend to go for the platinum on PlayStation. I haven't across anything overly repetative in playthrough so far but I want to enjoy that run as much as possible so would like to keep it as fresh as I can. Really good Metroidvania. Absolutely one of the best games I've played this year.
There are a lot of things I like about this game, but there is one huge flaw that took so much from the experience. The world/areas just feel like such a slog. It feel like you are exploring big boxes, each one littered with enemies, Instead of a seamless world. In that aspect it reminded me more of 300th Duel than a top tier Metroidvania. Just my opinion though, it’s good a lot of people are liking it. There is a lot to like - great art style, music, tons of abilities, decent bosses Also, this is NOT a souls-like. I don’t know why a lot of people say it is. It is missing 2 of the most defining features of a Souls game - a stamina bar and a penalty upon death. This is just a 2D Metroidvania with some light Souls characteristics
@@luobomu9747 Yep, it’s such a shame. If they could have spent more time on this, so that the world felt more natural and fun to explore, it would have made the game so much better
Salt & Sanctuary has prob 10x more content / Customization / Replay-ability and 400x more loot PLUS NG+, etc, etc. Cant wait for Salt Sanctuary 2 which had a big reveal at E3 but,… THANKS for getting around to covering this one Fex ;)
Probably underleveled like a certain streamer I watched who also had the same complaints. Exp is plentiful, making levels easy. But it also means a lot of exp missed if you skip enemies.
Learn what a quarter is. It's not that hard. Or, Google the release date. Q3 means what it means. There are 4 quarters in a year, hence the word quarter. So, now it means something to you, rather than nothing. Next time you feel as stupid as this time, start your question with "Will" rather than "can", as that is how a question is formatted in English.
It would release together with xbox but devs has some tecnical problems with the port. If is really just that I don't thing will take more than a month for the PS release.
Too much or too little? I've found the boss fights kinda challenging but fair. Once you've learned the move set the health bars are kind of irrelevant. I like that each boss has multiple phases that keep things interesting and the life bar for each phase is pretty short: once you've mastered the technique for each phase there's no point dragging out the fight and making it artificially difficult by having an enormous life bar.

I agree. I actually like this system rather than the ping system like assassins creed that just show were everything is.
@@byron5299 For Assassins creed I get that style. It's different.

some of the rooms I have explored every fucking inch and can't for the life of me find what I am missing.

That is indeed a beautiful art design. The fact that the MC is a girl with stand power is something even more special LOL
Who came here to get info about the game because it's a free game for the month of August on the PSN?
😂 yup 🎉
The style somewhat reminds me of Child of Light.
I just got past the first boss and I have to say, the soundtrack has already nearly brought me to tears. It is absolutely haunting, solitary, and beautiful.
It's good music but tears? Shm
One of the best games I've played this year. Combat like Dark Souls, story and vibe like Nier. Love it. Music is also great.
Combat like dark souls 😂😂😂😂 don't be a total ass.
@@indivestor the precision and timing is. You must dodge roll and commit to combat animations like Dark Souls. Build variety and look are completely different though.
i dont see how the combat is like DS at all lol
It does have a pary system (item),as well as a parry/counter attack spirit.
Is completely useles, tho, you can just spam dash instead and the counter attack animation is extremely long for its damage.
@@alfonsovallejo2665 Depends on the situation, sometimes the parry is better than the dash.

I haven't had time so I haven't made one :(
THis game is truly excellent. Came out of nowhere. Needed a guide for 100% though some of the hidden items were insane to find

People, check out "Vigil: The Longest Night" as well. And pls make a video on it, Fextra.
Okay this looks fantastic! Kinda reminds of of Hollow Knight & Salt and Sanctuary

Within minutes, I noticed that the level design of this game is terrible. It's a very "gamy" world. Hated it for that and other reasons. Uninstalled.

I’m super excited for salt and sacrifice! We will be doing the official wiki too
Is there any update for the release of this game in ps4? It was coming in july 6 and i cant find it.
Its out now on ps4
You mentioned it was $19.99 USD, but your video shows it at $24.99 and it's the same on Steam. Did they raise the price?
I really like the game, though the bosses have too much health.

can you please specify the release date for ps4 and ps5? Q3 means nothing to me :(

I’m surprised you didn’t compare it to Hollow Knight; until the end when you mentioned it too was a metrovania.
Metrovania? Is that like a subgenre where the levels always take place underground...
So child of light?
Personally, I am quite happy without voice acting. I would much prefer no voice acting over bad voice acting.
What a fantastic game.
WOW, love the art style
It's shit.
Such a masterpiece it's like hollow knight aesthetic and salt and sanctuary combat it's right there with hollow knight which is huge for me to say
Big Hollow Knight vibes! This looks fun.
Stop making me jealous with this game.
I can't play it until later in the year when it's out on PS4.
Its out now on ps4
Really good game
The games great but there’s and irritating delay after you attack which leaves you vulnerable or unable to dodge for a split second or two.
Child of Hollow Souls
Oooh yes
Love the setting but have no more time or patience for backtracking, respawning enemies, and overly difficult bosses.
I don't need convincing here. Just pricing and availability.
Looks a lot like Vigil, but with a protagonist that has a questionable design.
Where is the risk when you loose nothing when dying ? lol
Looks to be $24.99 not $19.99? 😭
You do have a parry and it's crucial
It’s a beautiful game! But the health on these bosses are so atrocious!

Its 25 pounds in uk. Why ??? It should be 20 pounds.
You gonna nitpick over a fiver? It's worth it imo

Kirby: Dark Soulsvania
This looks like a copy of Hollow knight
So sick of these soulslike metroidvanias. Pass.
what how many of them are out?? i love them
This is more like a Castlevania game, instead of a Metroid.
