@@bigdlife86 I think my biggest issue with the lexus is it doesn’t have an AWD option, which is key for me since I drive in cold weather and AWD really helps (my current mazda is bad in snow, I wouldn’t risk rwd on a 50,000$ car). However Lexus has an amazing sound system that I like and the interior is quiet( I listen to podcasts a lot). Fortunately I have an audi and lexus dealer close by, but they never have the f series or s series in stock

11:14 I am 6'4", test drove this car today, and I felt quite comfortable. I just lowered the seat so my head would not hit the roof liner, and telescoped the wheel all the way out. In drive the transmission was pretty slow to do a 2-gear downshift, but using the paddles (or the gear shift knob which also changes gears) the transmission was then satisfying quick. I have not seen a dyno chart, but I am guessing that below 3,000 RPM there is not a lot of pull, but that the engine was designed to deliver power at higher RPM's where the engine sounds glorious. As to the suspension, it was more capable than I was expecting. Not a track focused car, but compliant and decently capable in the twisties. Lastly, this car feels really solid - as if it was machined from one big billet of steel which gives you a feeling of utmost quality. Tech-wise it is not current, but if you want a car with a wonderful sounding V8, GT road performance and feeling of rock-solid build quality, then test drive this.

I like to think of the IS500 as the 4 door plush Mustang, cause this and the Mustang are quite similar, both have a high revving 5.0L V8 that sounds amazing, both are RWD, both weigh around 3,900lbs. The IS500 is pretty much a Mustang in a more upscale and more practical package, the IS500 is around 10k more than a 5.0L Mustang, but you'll get a more premium interior, more practically and a more comfortable ride than you would in a Mustang.

In that mode I'm reminded of the super mechanical/analog sound and feel of my dad's 1973 Plymouth Road Runner 340 with a manual 4-speed gear box. The clunkiness of the transmission in that mode, from a freaking modern car, is bad ass to me. Love it. Love it. Very good video, I like the fact that it has Dual personality. About RC F vs IS 500 and the whole IS F talk. I feel if they added the F parts the car price would have shot up and since this seems like a special design skunk works project makes sense they did not do F. It would have been amazing if we had the full F for 68K, RC F with Premium package is very temping but it's 80K, and that is a full track car, hard to be practical on street and perhaps more expensive to maintain due to additional coolers and expensive brakes. The IS 500 even has the RC F / GS F front end although rear is a mix of AL + Steel unlike GS F and RC F with full AL back. Only issue I have is no Semi Aniline leather only Nuluxe sadly.Still I think this is the best car for me esp in 2023, that 2UR GSE with good reliability on the Aisin AA80E plus the quality build. Thanks for the solid video this beauty deserves it.

@TheTopher: Question: I had a 2020 Civic Si. The Honda spec oil was 0W20. Would using 5W30 cause dealers or Honda to give me crap in terms of denying warranty coverage? Just wondering. I have a 2013 Accord in which I use 5W30, because it consumed way too much oil when I was using 0W20. It was a TSB issue, out of warranty of course, for which I had the head rebuilt at 101,000 miles.
