    You may know these laryngeal massage techniques under many different names: vocal massage techniques, digital laryngeal massage, laryngeal massage voice therapy, circumlaryngeal massage, larynx massage, throat massage, self massage, self massage techniques, self massage neck, vocal massage, vocal cord massage. It really does not matter how you call it or what diagnosis you have (like Muscle Tension Dysphonia), this approach releases vocal tension and throat tension so that you can achieve relaxed throat muscles and continue with your daily vocal tasks.

    Thank you so much for this. I was dealing with a lump in my throat feeling and my vocal chords spamming due to GERD, and these massages help! I also appreciate that you mentioned a laryngologist, because my GI has not helped at all with this part of the issue. Much a appreciated. One of the best things you can do is to help people heal. Thank you!

    I am a very quiet person who talks about 10-20 percent of the amount a 'normal' person would. I am living abroad in Cambodia and decided to take lessons in the Khmer (Cambodian) language. Not only am I speaking much more than I normally do, but am using my vocal cords and mouth to try to produce sounds that wreak havoc on the entire area.
    My voice has really been raspy, hoarse, and crackly for several days, but after doing your laryngeal massage for a few minutes, I feel much better. Thank you so much!
    If you have any exercises to strengthen the voice for reticent people, I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

    This was amazing! As a singer with voice problems I'm very grateful. Should I be concerned my Adam's apple won't go to the right easily? My throat does tighten up when I sing, even though I try to stay relaxed.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  8 місяців тому +1

      No, I would not be concerned. If the massage was helpful, I would use it on a regular basis and see if you can release the muscles even more over time. Singers have high vocal demands, even though you may be doing everything right so knowing what helps before and after singing can be helpful in keeping the voice in the best shape possible.

      I am sorry to hear that! Sometimes, it is a long road to find the right answers. I always recommend to go and see a laryngologist in a specialized voice clinic. They are better trained to spot minor differences in peoples' voices.

      Did you see a common ENT or a laryngologist who specializes in singing voice? I would highly recommend that you seek the latter because they are trained to see, hear and feel; differences in people who are dealing with singing voice issues. Common ENTs may not have enough experience or training to help people like you.

    Thanks for this video! For the exercises, are you supposed to actually be able to move the hyoid bone left and right? And your Adam's apple left/right and up/down? They don't move much for me, but I may also be being overly cautious/gentle.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  2 роки тому +1

      The movements are very slight. If you have trouble moving them at all, it may indicate some tension. But only do what is comfortable for you.

    can this exercise be used for LPR or Globus?

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  2 роки тому +1

      This exercise will not manage your LPR, that has to be done either with medication or with behavioural strategies. This massage will release some muscle tension, which may be causing your globus sensation.

    • @Dahjonruby
      @Dahjonruby 2 роки тому

      Uhm I was diagnosed with LPR about 2 months ago and I’ve apparently had it since 2018 after changing my diet (most days) and drinking apple cider vinegar (sometimes by itself) and doing larynx massages and working diligently and not using any force it’s about gone. I still have tension at the bottom of my vocal cords cause that’s the hardest part to get but it works for me

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  10 місяців тому

      Clicking is normal. The sound is created by cartilages rubbing against each other. Be gentle though! Do not force anything.
